ikab that's now exactly what I need

Heard that quite a few times about over bump or under bump jeans. Guess it's trial and error but I can see myself Doing it all online and spending a fortune. Provincial town has limited maternity wear it seems despite being parent Mecca

Lottie345 · 02/09/2013 17:34

The toastie that is... Not the kebab!

PiratesMam · 02/09/2013 17:38

ha ha ikab I have a posh husband like that too. I've dumbed him down!

SoSurprised · 02/09/2013 17:47

Hi everyone, sorry haven't been able to keep up with the thread. Been very busy with work and exhausted all the time.
I get breathless just walking up the stairs

Hope everyone has had good scans and is feeling better

MTBMummy · 02/09/2013 17:56

pram in fairness the slippers do last 3 years so I reckon well worth the extra spend. DP buys the £5 cheapies from the supermarket, but goes through a pair almost every month, and given how much time I spend in slippers (lazy moo) the luxury is necessary Grin

I'm struggling with food too, but as DP does all the grocery shopping and cooking unless I tell him on a Sunday what I'm likely to fancy all week (like that is possible) then I have to be polite about what I get. In fairness, he's a great cook, and I trying to accommodate my serious carb cravings. But sometimes I just don't fancy what he's made - I sound really brattish don't I?

lumpylumps · 02/09/2013 18:04

I've caved!!! The maternity skinnies are on and its heaven!! I wasn't this big till 20 weeks first time!!!

apprentice how's the spotty one??

gawjus sound rubbish. Hope you feel better soon. Ignore work!!

"Work away partners" I admire you ladies, it's bloody hard work. Dh is a shift worker so doesn't work away as such but regularly works 8am-9.30pm. At least on those days I know there's no one to help and I feel I get on better because I have to do it all if that makes sense. It riles me tho because he does as he wants and just presumes I'll do everything even though I work too.
Ds 1s girlfriend is stopping tonight. They're 5!!!!!

PramQueen1971 · 02/09/2013 18:11

Can you please elaborate on what a 'posh husband' is?

Ikab, I am not your build at all, I am a size 12 but the IVF cycle and subsequent pregnancy have pushed me to somewhere nudging a 14. However, H&M 14s categorically do not fit and the 16s are spray-on but look great. The five year-old on the till agreed that their sizes are v small and they get a lot of complaints.

Ladies, drop what you're doing and run to the chippy. I felt so nauseous but ran over the road and I've just demolished chips smothered in my home made spring chicken one-pot. It was divine.

Gawjus, how awful Sad

Becface · 02/09/2013 18:21

Hmmm that's looks amazing Pram gonna save that recipe for later this week methinks, I've just finished off a big bag of dairy milk buttons, I feel sick but not sure if its general eating too much chocolate sick or the usual nausea and sickness.

ikab · 02/09/2013 18:22

Posh husband. Takes girl to the boat race and his rowing club for 3rd date, surprisingly asks girl on 4th date after she insists on a kebab afterwards.

Jolleigh · 02/09/2013 18:29

Kind of feel like I've dreamed the whole being pregnant thing. Confused Would it be really irrational to pee on a stick right now so I can check?

BakingEating · 02/09/2013 18:40

Pram, no my dh is English, not German. I wouldn't be qualified to know if it's true about German men, although they do seem to be built larger in general Hmm

Comms sorry to hear about your epic nosebleed, it was probably not what you needed at the time even if I'd have laughed like a drain if it happened to me.

dh is doing homemade pizza tonight, so I've asked for a margherita. He keeps saying "you can have other toppings if you like". No dear, it needs to be as bland as possible.

Trots off to find stats thread..

Lottie345 · 02/09/2013 18:43

Pram that looks great. Last night I oven roasted salmon with garlic and lemon and then flaked it into fresh tagliatelle and stirred in some creme fraiche, a touch of mild cheddar and some Parmesan. It was amazing... tonight the thought of fish and anything creamy makes me want to curl up in a ball and never eat another thing. Gotta love these hormones.

PramQueen1971 · 02/09/2013 18:43

Ikab. Ah. I see. Where did he take you on your first date?

Jolls, it would be irrational. You are pregnant, my love. What is giving you the colly-wobbles?

Jolleigh · 02/09/2013 18:56

Not sure Pram...it's not as if I'm suddenly symptomless or anything. Probably paranoia to be honest...it's not often good things happen to me that don't completely cluster-fuck after a while. Probably need to get out of that mind set if I'm ever going to sleep while pregnant!

On the beige food front, I'm having hollands pies and hash browns for tea. It's all I've wanted all day and I'm determined to ignore the indigestion and keep it down.

ikab · 02/09/2013 19:05

1 restaurant, 2 restaurant, 3 boat race, 4 his place...Wink right enough of that let's get back on the subject of pies...

SoSurprised · 02/09/2013 19:09

Jolliegh I feel the same way. Bit paranoid now that the nausea is settling down.

I am having my scan tmrw and feeling really nervous.

Jolleigh · 02/09/2013 19:16

Mine is Thursday Surprised and it can't come soon enough! Need to blow the pic up onto a canvass and hang it on the wall so the pregnant feeling comes back.

lumpylumps · 02/09/2013 19:56

Don't pee on a stick now. Can't remember where I read it but hcg levels drop when the placenta takes over so I'm gonna guess that's when the symptoms stop too. The test may be negative but you're still pregnant!!!

commsgirl · 02/09/2013 19:59

Surprised My scan's tomorrow too. And Mimi

Joll Not long to wait for you now! Take your beige food eating as a positive :).

Lumpy Amazing aren't they.

commsgirl · 02/09/2013 20:00

Baking It's funny now! Was mortified at the time though. Blush

lumpylumps · 02/09/2013 20:00

Having said that, I've just googled it and although they peak at 9-12 weeks, they're still a he'll of a lot higher than when not preggers. Pee away!!

justmuddlingthroughit · 02/09/2013 20:03

gawjus, I'm sorry you're so ill, and that your employers are being such utter twat nuggets. I hope you feel better soon.

jolleigh and sosurprised, I'm with you on the paranoia. I got pregnant straight away, and have miraculously escaped the worst of early pregnancy symptoms. I'm not used to things going so smoothly for me, so part of my brain keeps trying to convince me that something is going to go horribly wrong... Seriously, I think I need a slap. Anyone want to volunteer?

IceNoSlice · 02/09/2013 20:04

Long day, finally had chance to properly catch up.

MTB glad you're back, I was wondering why we hadn't heard from you in a while.

Pram I like those clothes, good choices. Hadn't thought of Red Herring for maternity stuff. Tomorrow lunch time I'm planning to order some stuff to be delivered to store- Next, also Debenhams. We have a few teeny stores in our local town (not Brum). Easy to park and nip in/out of, but naff all range, so good to order and collect.

Whoever said they were worried about ordering online- make sure you can send back with free returns and you're all good.

gawjus and others suffering- poor you Sad and I hope it abates soon.

Bousy · 02/09/2013 20:07

My scan's tomorrow too. Keeping fingers crossed for others in the same boat x

HotCrossPun · 02/09/2013 20:08

The tide has turned. For the past 12 weeks I've had the libido of a panda.

Today I haven't been able to stop thinking about my gorgeous DP, I even got a bit giggly when I was on the phone to him earlier Grin

Does that mean I'm going to start glowing soon too?
