I'm really shocked that Greggs has a website Shock which I'm now browsing to decide what cake to have with a pasty tomorrow

IceNoSlice · 01/09/2013 19:26

Frank I am starting pregnancy yoga a week on Tuesday. Really l

Slippersandacuppa · 01/09/2013 19:27

Come on, more ideas pls - nothing you're talking about is making me drool. Spent kids' dinner time wandering aimlessly around the kitchen trying to spy something to eat. Have stuck a pie on the side to defrost (surely that's way worser than Grigs?). I fear it may go to the dog but she'll probably turn her nose up at it as it's quorn. Cheese on chips? Heathens.

On a positive note, a little old man drove past us this morning. Hellos all round. As he drives away with his little old wife, four-year-old turns to me and says, 'that was probably God'. So there you have it, God drives a Honda Accord. Who knew?

Prambo you're hysterical! You should write. Do you?

Mummy I love raspberries too but it takes too long to eat them. Have to check them thoroughly for creepy crawlies after finding one having a snooze.

Frank My DH works away too but only Mon - Fri, which is actually very civilised. Longer with no weekends must be tough. Are you near family?

Rockchick1984 · 01/09/2013 19:28

Wow... There's over 27 grams of fat in a sausage and bean pasty... Maybe I can resist that particular craving!

Re pregnancy exercise, I've got a prenatal Pilates DVD so try to do that at least a couple of times a week.

IceNoSlice · 01/09/2013 19:28

Sorry, fat fingers.

Really looking forward to it. I've done it before and loved it. It's not really exercise but is good for stretching, breathing, relaxation and spending an hour focussing on the little person in there. My back gives me a bit of grief (too much slouching and sitting at a desk) and it helps with that. Mind you, it's pretty relaxing so I may end up asleep... Which would be embarrassing!

Jolleigh · 01/09/2013 19:43

Ta Imeg Smile

Jolleigh · 01/09/2013 19:45

I've been asked today to be a god mummy Grin

MummyPig24 · 01/09/2013 19:45

I don't do any specific pregnancy exercise but I walk a lot as I don't have a car and I'm pretty busy most of the time.

Just had dinner. Jacket potato with egg and bacon. Bit weird but if you hard boil and egg, fry some bacon, chop them up and mix with a little mayo its lush on top of a good old jacket!

MummyPig24 · 01/09/2013 19:46

Aww that's nice news joll

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/09/2013 19:49

'twas me Cool. It's a Jamie Oliver recipe. When I can get on the laptop I can type it up for you if you fancy? Dead quick and easy.

I'm just going to the gym when I don't feel like shit but my gym do antenatal yoga and swimming so will be partaking of those at some point.

I tried the hair bobble trick. Was great at first, but where have not eaten much, I've lost too much weight off my hips and legs and the jeans kept falling down. I've got under bump skinny mat jeans. Even though they're too big in the waist at the mo, they at least stick to my legs Wink

rosyryan · 01/09/2013 19:51

Belgian buns

LyraSilvertongue · 01/09/2013 19:52

Maybe, is it in one of his books? I've got a few of them. I need a new pie recipe.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/09/2013 19:53

Congrats Joll!

I second the Internal scans. Was having them every other day for two weeks and they really aren't that bad. And best bit, you need an empty bladder!

rosyryan · 01/09/2013 19:53

Fuck it, I managed to miss a whole page there! Well done Frank.

FrankelInFoal · 01/09/2013 19:54

Oo, let us know how it goes Ice, I've emailed my local class to ask for details.

Slippers DH currently leaves early Monday morning and returns Friday evenings. He's been in the military since before we met so I knew what I was getting myself into! We've been together 11.5 years and I worked out a while ago that he has spent about 3 years of that time overseas!

I don't have family nearby (DH's mum is fairly local but in her 70s so not really going to be much use in the child are stakes!). We're going to talk with friends and make sure I have a support network set up in case he does have to go away, but I'll cope - I always do! The fact he is planning on coming out of the military and going civvie in 2 years time keeps me going too!

On the internal scan front, they really are nothing to be worried about. I hate having smears and was worried about internal scans but they really are a doddle! I've had more than I care to mention through the course of my fertility treatment!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/09/2013 19:56

Yes Lyra, in the 30 minute meals. It's lovely

PramQueen1971 · 01/09/2013 20:12

Imeg, best wishes for your scan tomorrow, I hope it's the best news.

Frank, fanks for the link. I won't eat anything wot looks like a tit. Exercise: I'm re-joining the gym this week, despite my having slagged-off pregnant women looking 'desperate' doing hardcore exercise. I'm old and want to be fit for labour (in case I do some protracted primal squatting) so I'm not cajoled into being strapped down and induced like some docile old heifer.

Coolhand, I don't read the DM for its journalism (all papers are politically slanted anyway); I read it to be shouted at.

Slippers, yes, I do write but only on toilet walls.

Here for the best chicken and leek pie in the world I make it a lot and it's beautiful. Fuck the 'corn-fed chicken' though - use any old chook.

I love internal scans Hmm

Jolleigh · 01/09/2013 20:24

Well, the way my sex life is going, any form of internal would be much appreciated Wink

BakingEating · 01/09/2013 20:26

Hello, is it too late to join? I'm 11+4 with my first. In terms of the preganancy checklist, I've managed the nausea, tiredness, random beige food cravings and sneeze-wees (in Ikea). Blush

Jolleigh · 01/09/2013 20:28

Welcome Baking...at least your sneeze wee was a clothed one...things get messy if not Wink (at least, I hope you were clothed in ikea?)

BakingEating · 01/09/2013 20:33

Thanks Joll, thankfully I was clothed in Ikea, although I can now guess the subject of tonight's weird pregnancy dream... Smile

Jolleigh · 01/09/2013 20:40

Add something about beige food and you've got an epic pregna-dream

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/09/2013 21:02

Welcome Baking!!

Looks delish Prambo. I love making pies. I have a lovely little bird for the top of my pie.

Jolleigh · 01/09/2013 21:36

Have we really gone half an hour without a comment? Is the thread broken? We talk too much for this to be real?

commsgirl · 01/09/2013 21:41

Those of you who's partners work away - any tips? DP's just started spending 3-5 nights away a week and I'm finding it hard not to be completely pathetic about it. Although I don't miss him leaving his dirty socks stuffed down the side of the sofa.

Re exercise - I'm going swimming and doing yoga at home for now. I've found a class but think I'm going to wait until I'm a bit further along. Going to start back at the gym as well, I've just been too sick. Let us know how your class goes Ice.

Welcome Baking :). I'm 11+5 so you're just one day behind me!
