I'm with you Pram. I think knowing there'll be a finite number of times I'll see/hear baby and when those times are is helping me be a lot more relaxed. I don't think I'd be satisfied unless I had a 24/7 live feed to my baby so I think more access would make me more worried not less. Does that make sense? That's just me personally though, I bet it's lovely to just be able to hear your baby whenever you want/for as long as you want.

lumpylumps · 29/08/2013 15:20

I didn't take it personally cos I'm in the s a me situation, perhaps if I wasn't in uniform I might have been treated differently. Unfortunately, there seems to be a presumption among some hcp that a high bmi means a couch potato who lives on takeaways and low bmi means anorexic. People should be more open minded. My friend who had a baby 12 days ago received a very patronising presumptuous letter from Phoenix weight loss telling her she needs to exercise regularly and go on a diet!!! This to a new mum who's just delivered a 9lb+ baby and is breast feeding. Clearly just numbers put into a computer!!!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/08/2013 15:42

Just popping in with good scan news ladies. Babymaybe was measuring at 10+2, all very wriggly and gorgeous. The pornographer was great Wink

I am also with Pambellina on the Doppler front. I'd freak if I couldn't find it. I feel so much better after this scan Smile

apprenticemamma · 29/08/2013 15:42

My poor Ds seems to be coming down with chicken pox.Sad Horrible to see him all miserable and unwell. Going to Drs later to confirm. I've had it in childhood and I know I'm prob ok but stupidly googled and horrible worse case scenarios for my baby. Sad Sad . I'll keep u posted.

apprenticemamma · 29/08/2013 15:43

(and on more lighthearted note good to hear everyone's good porn news )

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/08/2013 15:46

Oh Apprentice the poor little thing. Out comes the calamine lotion. Which I love the smell of! You and mini apprentice will be just fine x

apprenticemamma · 29/08/2013 15:50

no maybe thanks. I'll give anything a go so tips gratefully received as to what will alleviate my darling's pain.

commsgirl · 29/08/2013 15:54

Aww poor little apprentice. He'll be fine, just grumpy!

I can't stop eating today.

Rockchick1984 · 29/08/2013 16:05

Aww, hope he's ok! Calamine lotion, piriton liquid, and expect lots of sleeping. DS had it just after his first birthday and it wasn't nice but it was all over within a week or so. As long as you're immune it will be fine. though, for you and him!

HotCrossPun · 29/08/2013 16:28

Has anybody felt any kicks or movements yet?

I had this really weird whirling feeling in my belly today. Like a whirrlygigg going round. Please tell me it was the baby! Grin

PramQueen1971 · 29/08/2013 16:39

Marbie, I'm over-the-moon for you and Ken GrinThanks

Aw, Apprentice, it's rotten when the kiddies get it. My friend recently posted a photo on fb of her 8 year-old Aspergers son sitting naked in a mop bucket to ease the itching on his teeny testicles Sad

Jolleigh · 29/08/2013 16:49

Just checking if one of my trip advisor reviews has been published and happened to notice just how much we've ended up eating out since becoming pregnant due to sickness. It must be costing us a fortune Confused . Must have words with the mister and get him to pull his finger out when I can't face cooking smells.

rescoonetwothree · 29/08/2013 17:07

lumpy that is brilliant!! they actually gave me the leaflet for those with a raised bmi instead anyway, so i think the one i saw wasn't with it on that day at least, i didnt dare say anything though!

on dopplers, i like the idea of them and have been trying for a while now i haven't found the heartbeat yet though, but i kinda knew that would be the case so am not too worried, and also because I've been to the scans and seen the heartbeat when i cant find it!!

great news on the scans! are we still to hear back from any from the pornographers today?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/08/2013 17:11

Thanks lovely Pramona Grin

Apprentice what can be really soothing is running a bath using calamine instead of bubble bath. Hope he doesn't get too many spots. I had them in every oriffice

PramQueen1971 · 29/08/2013 17:23

Forgot to say my 20-week scan is on 8th October..

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/08/2013 17:46

That won't be long in coming Prammy!

Becface · 29/08/2013 19:04

Can someone send me the link for the FB group please?

rescoonetwothree · 29/08/2013 19:07

hi bec there is no link because its a private group, but if you send me your Facebook link i will add you to mine and add you from there xx

also inspired by lyra got out the doppler and had a go, found it straight away, definitely more train than horses... oooh!

mimili · 29/08/2013 19:32

Pornographer scan confirmed! Will hopefully be joining the happy scan group next week!!!

SoSurprised · 29/08/2013 19:39

Apprentice hope your son feels better soon.

I have been so hungry this week. Eating constantly. Can't stop myself at all. It doesn't help that I have been gifted a big box of chocolates, not what I need right now

Slippersandacuppa · 29/08/2013 19:42

Ahh, how lovely to hear more scrummy scan pics :)

I also need to apologise - I've just realised it was me who posted the 1000th time without starting a new thread - sorry! Blush

Finally had booking in, nice to know they still consider me to be low risk despite this being fourth baby and my age - phew, providing all goes well, I'm aiming for another homebirth. And scan booked for 10th. Feels like ages away. There's no way I'll be able to hide this lump until then!

Apprentice Sorry to hear about the pox. Have you had it? Worth getting your immunity tested (I had to when 8 weeks pg with DC3 as DC2 had it) unless you know you've had it for sure. Hope you all sleep!

Off to eat. Again!

FrankelInFoal · 29/08/2013 19:53

Got my screening test results back today: risk is 1 in 9200 so I'm happy Grin

Imeg · 29/08/2013 19:53

Glad to hear lots of positive scan news.

I'm getting quite sick of being careful what I say in case I accidentally mention it /evading discussions about events that I probably won't be able to attend etc.... Only one more day at work until the next scan though, just need to make plans for the weekend that involve solitary activities rather than girly heart to hearts! Husband is ok because being a bloke he seems to just sit in pubs with his friends rather than actually talking about anything much. He went to a stag do recently and came back unable to tell me a single thing about the plans for the wedding ceremony. Not because he was too drunk to remember, but because it just wasn't discussed. It baffles me but there we are.

Imeg · 29/08/2013 19:54

PS Totally agree with the person who said Quavers settled their stomach :)

PiratesMam · 29/08/2013 20:05

Good scannage news all round I see! Grin

apprentice I second the liquid piriton recommendation. Do you know to avoid ibuprofen? That was news to me. We found the mousse was more soothing than the calamine. Hopefully he won't suffer with it - my DS was absolutely fine and didn't even scratch, whereas poor DD was completely pickled and quite feverish. Good to get it out of the way though!

Is anyone else feeling quite down about feeling so sick at this point? I'm just so fed up of retching and not being able to eat anything decent - can't remember the last piece of fruit I ate. Terrible headache this eve and I am in bed sipping cuppasoup and eating supernoodles. Sorry, the sickness is getting me down now! It's been ages! Confused
