Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

Morning all, still feeling like shit, chucked my guts up last night, managed about three mouthfuls of dinner in the evening and one mini pretzel.

Sick again at 6 this morning, it makes me feel better for about 20 minutes afterwards then the nausea returns.

Running how exciting to hear babies heartbeat already, and possibly be quite a bit further on than you thought!

runninggirl85 · 21/08/2013 10:04

Thank you :-)

I'm excited but just feel very shocked as i really didn't think i was that far.

Maybe it is more like 9 weeks not 11 if you can hear a heart beat then.

They said i'll get an appointment for a scan in a week to 10 days.. then i'll find out for sure :-)

dirtyface · 21/08/2013 10:17

aww bless you bunny its just not fair is it :( how we get treated in preg seems to vary so much depending on our area. and am sorry to hear you had prev ectopic, how scary.

well i have managed to find a cheaper early scan, its only ( Hmm ) 100 quid so have booked that for 7th sept when i will be about 7 1/2 weeks i think. gona cancel the other one (luckily didnt pay upfront!) so just gotta hold on for 18 days and counting

runninggirl85 · 21/08/2013 10:25

ah golden ...really feel sorry for you. Sounds like you are having a rough time

dirty £100!! wow thats pretty expensive. Will be worth it though x

patsy375 · 21/08/2013 10:34

Had enough of this constant hangover. Sad
Waking up feeling like Ive had a really good drink and a fabulous night out when in reality I'm unlikely to touch the stuff for months! Oh the irony.
Just rang my surgery and asked to be referred to the midwife. Receptionist said I have to have appointment with gp first to "confirm the pregnancy".
Told her it will be baby number 4 and I'm pretty sure im with child,
but no go!
Pretty sure its all purely financial think gps get money from the government for " booking in appointments".

bunnygoesbang · 21/08/2013 10:50

Patsy I had to put in a sample to confirm pregnancy then have a go appointment then got my midwife appointment. I think they just put if off to save pennies on case it goes wrong.
Thankfully I was under a gyne consultant who was shocked and arranged my early scan classed me as high dependancy and has also asked the hospital antenatal clinic to see me

runninggirl85 · 21/08/2013 10:53

It seems really different here. I'm in Hampshire. Or maybe they were just nice to me.

I just went to GP, said i was pregnant, filled in a form and then the midwife called me for an appointment the next week.

Where are you based?

leanne239 · 21/08/2013 11:05

can someone please take all my money from me, so I stop buying tests, if hubby knew the amount I have bought he would go mad Hmm

Vikkijayne2507 · 21/08/2013 11:21

Hi guys I'm freaking out... I did a test with clear blue digital wast Thursday when I was 4+4 and the result took ages to come up first positive then another what seemed like a long wait for a number and I got a 2-3 week result. Today at 5+3 I had exactly the same experience a long delay between pregnant and the result and today is showed 2-3 week result when it should defiantly say 3+ hweeks I'm sorry to panic but I am a bit on edge because of the last one mc. Anyone had this?

Morning all,

boobs I've read that cb have a massive cross over range, so I'd try not to worry too much. Hard though I know.

I'm feeling like shite still. Went to docs and got cyclizine - but it completely knocks me out! So swapping one problem for another and I'm still no use to anyone :( decided we'll go ahead with our holiday next week but dh is worried I won't enjoy it now and I feel rubbish about it all. Having to tell a few people due to looking so green and not really being with it!

Tea1Sugar · 21/08/2013 12:16

Boobs - a lot I've googled suggests cb digi needs a wide berth. In just a week I've had 1-2,2-3 and 3+ and I don't know how that's possible either tbh. Blush

bunnygoesbang · 21/08/2013 12:39

Starting to consider the risk of taking meds for sickness as I haven't kept anything down today and feel dreadful Hmm I really don't want to as any medication is a risk

Misty9 · 21/08/2013 12:42

Bunny I'd really think about it as my doc said cyclizine is fine to take in pregnancy and it's what she prescribed as an obs and gynae doc too. It knocks me out for an hour though, is that normal?! So fed up with feeling so sick, can't imagine how I'd feel if I was being sick as well :( hugs for you (gentle ones, I know physical touch is difficult when you're sick!)

bunnygoesbang · 21/08/2013 12:53

Both gps I have seen say it carries a risk and nothing is 100% safe. There's an increased risk of birth defects like cleft palates.
I just need to be able to be a mum to my dd and I need to get back to work next week. I'm so miserable my whole life is on hold

Misty9 · 21/08/2013 12:55

I even asked my gp yesterday about risks and she just poo poo'd me and said its fine! Hmm. Not sure I'm gonna take them anyway, due to aforementioned side effect. Hope you find some way to function bunny. It's bloody awful isn't it :(

Misty9 · 21/08/2013 12:57

Just got this off patient.co.uk :
It is generally best to avoid medicines when you are pregnant (including herbal remedies, as the contents are often uncertain). However, some medicines have been used for a number of years to treat sickness and vomiting in pregnancy and are thought to be safe. For example, many women have used promethazine or cyclizine and there is no evidence that they harm a developing baby. There are some others if these are not helpful.

??

bunnygoesbang · 21/08/2013 13:00

It's a total mind field isn't it. One of the hp said that there hasn't been enough specific testing around pregnancy but that its an effective treatment that hasn't raised any significant concerns. So basically they don't know as it hasn't been tested for that use but is used for it argghh that's not helpful

Running Im based in Staffordshire.
Guess I'm just gonna have to play along if I want that precious first scan appt.
Those of you suffering from hg have my deepest sympathies, how stressful for you all Sad Sad
Re anti-sickness meds, it's so difficult to get a definitive answer re risks during pregnancy.
Drug companies are naturally unable to conduct clinical trials on pregnant women these days and this means there is no hard evidence upon which doctors can base their advice.
There will be drugs such as Cyclizine that have been given to many pregnant women for years that docs feel confident in prescribing but no drug can ever be described as 100% safe on pregnancy or otherwise.

Hello ladies,

Just a flying visit to see how everyone's doing.....I'm supposed to have packed my suitcase for hols already, so I need to do a quick "throw everything together in the next 30 mins" effort....yippee yay!

dirtyface - sorry, just realised I didn't answer your question about the hcg blood tests. I paid privately each time, as the tests because I insisted for my own in/sanity, rather than medically necessary. Only about £18 a test which I thought was quite good to get the result within 6 hours.

I've got my first Obstetrician appointment early tomorrow morning....decided to choose consultant care instead of midwife, so I'm going to bombard her with questions to make the most of the appt time :)

I'll let you know if there's a heartbeat. Sniff....I hope there's a heartbeat xxx

Today 5+6

P.s. Boobs - agree with everyone else that CB digi aren't exactly spot on. Just a guide, so try not to stress too much Flowers

BartBaby · 21/08/2013 15:49

I took my promethazine last night and feel a lot better today. And the midwifes said it was fine. It was no good to me not to be able to move from the bathroom for ages on a morning as I have ds to look after. It did seem to wear off at about 1pm though so I might have to play about with the timings. Maybe take it when I wake up during the night rather than before bed so I get a little longer. The box says you can take up to 4 a day which the doctor didnt recommend, but I did take another about 1.30pm partly to see if it knocks me out, it didnt and its helped again. I will speak with the midwife and check if I can take 2 or if there is something different that might last better. It's not much use to me simply swapping the morning nausea for the afternoon lol

BoobsTooBig · 21/08/2013 15:50

I finally made my booking in appointment it's for the 4th sept when I should hopefully be 7+3. The only reason I did was because EPU called me asking how I was doing after mc and I thought it was very good of them to check up on me. So I told them the good news and they were very nice told any problems at all to contact them direct and to get get on with sorting my booking in appointment with my GP. So I have finally I just sort of didn't want to until I'd had my private scan that's due on the 2nd of Sept cos I'm scared silly. but I'm away for two weeks working in France over weeks 8-10 so they said they wanted to do booking in before I go away.
