Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

Welcome poppyXsmile and what a tough time you have been through, you poor thing... I hope everything goes well with your little bean and I'm sure he/she will bring some well deserved joy to you and your family!

All well here, had a tough time with the sickness/tiredness yesterday but today, nothing. Puzzles me, but this on/off thing seems to happen to a lot of us here. I'm just going to enjoy the few hours of respite, who knows when it's gonna strike next!

xx

ChocChaffinch · 13/09/2013 10:46

Grin hooray Pen that's fab. can't wait for mine now!

Supercalafraga · 13/09/2013 10:54

Hi all!

Sorry been so quiet - have been loving reading all your updates though Smile
Been so busy with work and the nausea and tiredness keeps knocking me out. Plus, I know feel like I'm getting the mother of all colds....

In other news, cracked and have told a few close friends. This waiting game is just too much!

Hello all! New to the thread, just checking in. 8 weeks gone only, with my first. Feeling vile. Can't concentrate, work is a disaster. Have been throwing up last three days (only once a day, but retching a lot), so off to see the GP to see if she can give me something to offer a bit of respite at least when I need to go to a client meeting or travelling (I seem to be getting extra sick every time I go on the bus ... Keep having to get off early to retch and then wait to the next one, so continually late for work). Think I may have to tell my boss what is going on despite it being so early, but will see what doc says first. Keep trawling Internet for cases if ms easing up early, but so far earliest I can find is 10 weeks, so at least a fortnight of this to go. Gaaargh!

Right, must go.

LT xx

MummyBee87 · 13/09/2013 13:10

Well, on the plus side, my sickness is definately starting to ease now I'm at 12 weeks. On the downside I've had the mother of all headaches for the last 2days and I don't want to take anything to get rid of it, does anyone have any suggestions?
:(

LightTripper · 13/09/2013 13:30

Poor you. I think paracetamol is supposed to be OK (I have read no ibuprofen). Could you be dehydrated? And thanks for reporting light at the end of the sickness tunnel! Can't wait...

MummyBee87 · 13/09/2013 14:30

LT, I was really bad until a week or so ago and it has got less and less, i've had more retching recently than actual sick, but not too much of that either! I've just checked on the NHS pregnancy section and you're right, it does say the correct dose of Paracetemol should be fine, but I'm still nervous about it :S I've tried to be really careful about what i'm taking in, i've not had caffeine since I had the positive test at 5weeks so i know it's not withdrawl from that. I'm going to have a nap when I get home from work I think and hopefully that might shake it :(

MummyBee87 · 13/09/2013 14:34

oh, and I've drunk like a fish today so I don't think it's dehydration, I think my head is just exploding from the ammount of baby stuff I'm surfing the net for :D x

LightTripper · 13/09/2013 16:02

Ha, MB, I know, me too! I know what you mean about paranoia. A month before I got preg I had a massive back spasm and ended up trapped on the floor for two hours. GP said on phone that ibuprofen was fine despite possible pregnancy, but then later it happened again out of hours and I called 111 who said definitely no ibuprofen, but paracetamol fine. Anyway, I only took one, but did worry a bit, but then period came so all fine!

Different GP has prescribed me prochlorperazine for sickness today. Still feel sick, but so far today no retching, which is pretty good. I am going to try to just take one a day rather than 3 if I can, as its only the afternoon and evening where I've actually been physically sick so far. Just hoping it will be enough to let me get some work done!

Mystic73 · 13/09/2013 16:22

Bartbaby I hv had constant 24/7 nausea and some vomiting since five and half weeks. I was given meds by my gp and I was avoiding as long as I could, was given cyclizine. I had no choice in the end as could no longer cope especially as I hv a very busy ds who is 2 and half. I only took half a tablet at a time as I was scared and they are like tranquillisers lol. Took total of one tablet if I was really struggling. It's a miserable thing to go thro, as well as constant exhaustion and reflux. Iam ten weeks on Sunday and whilst the constant nausea has subsided...just in the morning now, so can manage with no tabs, I have a new symptom which has been driving me crazy...excess saliva..ridiculous amounts as in I can have way over a pint a day, phew...really hoping that come twelve weeks things will settle and I can start to enjoy my pregnancy. Feel like iam wishing my life away at the moment. My saving grace at the moment is that my gp had signed me off work for four weeks, taking me to the twelve week mark. It's good to moan as the first trimester can be hard. I didn't have all these symptoms with my first pregnancy.

LightTripper · 13/09/2013 17:07

I think that's what makes it so hard ... I've only got DP to moan to, and I don't want to lay it on too thick, poor man is already feeling bad enough for me. Hopefully by the time I can moan at more people I won't want to any more!

Cannotbelieveit · 13/09/2013 17:46

Welcome light!

I booked an early scan for next Friday when I will be 8+6, hoping to see a little HB in there! Then at least I can kind of relax before waiting for 12 week scan!

Definitelysometime · 13/09/2013 19:15

Hi all. Hate to be the negative one but I've been feeling sooooo much worse since 10 wks. 11+3 today and no sign of things getting any better. Nearly fainted yesterday and had to go home sick from work. Evenings are just awful, and I must be eating 4,000 calories a day just to get through it. No actual vomming though, for which I am grateful. Just constant constant roughness. Will tell my boss as soon as I have 12 wk scan before she sacks me for being so useless!

prettyinpink90 · 13/09/2013 19:25

Evening ladies!

Hello and congratulations poppy and light Smile

I've just swapped my early scan to tomorrow as another clinic had availability so fx at 6pm tomorrow we'll be seeing a healthy little bean! Excited but so so anxious!

LightTripper · 13/09/2013 19:51

Oh no Definitely, that sounds horrible. Have you been to Doc? Think I will tell my boss this weekend... Serious risk of fireworks next week otherwise :-(

LightTripper · 13/09/2013 19:53

Thanks for the welcomes ladies! Not so sure about the facilities in this club, but the members are lovely Smile

ChocChaffinch · 13/09/2013 20:26

bonjourno pretty ladies Grin

had the most delicious burgerking ever for tea, fabulous. The puking drugs are working thank god.
tested folic acid this morning and it did make me more nauseous, will take it at night from now on.

11+1

Definitelysometime · 13/09/2013 22:08

Mmm Burger King... Great work choc. Jealous. Nope haven't been to docs light, haven't even been sick so don't think I need any help really.mThink I'm definitely low on iron though, hence the dizziness, so have started taking spatone. Hope I start having energy soon.

When does it end? It makes me so sad to say it but I really don't like being pregnant at ALL so far... Sad

Definitelysometime · 13/09/2013 22:09

Ps good luck for your scan tomorrow pretty, keep us posted!!

learnasyougo · 13/09/2013 22:27

Just when I thought the nausea has eased. tonight I was heaving mid-vomit. unlike normal puking, where you heave one after the other, my stomach would not wait for one to finish before the next forceful push. I thought I was going to burst a blood vessel. unfortunately I had DS (1 year) in with me. He laughed at first and then got very distressed. I couldn't comfort him as the heaves wouldn't stop, even for a second. I've never known anything like it! Poor DS. I did manage to stop and soothe him eventually.
and at work I'm so stressed out, I feel like I can't do my job. Sad I don't know what's wrong with me. I have writer's block and cannot afford to. we have targets at work to write at a set rate.Sad

LightTripper · 13/09/2013 22:41

Hello choc chaff... What anti puke drugs are you on? I feel worse than ever, though maybe would be even worse without pill. Just want to sleep but too sick. Really want a cry Sad

LeeHandy · 14/09/2013 07:56

hello and congratulations poppy and light
glad to know the scans went well trinpy and pen.
after not having much nausea at all, I was shocked to have feel very nauseous for 2 days in a row on Thursday and Friday. Shock I hope it doesn't last! I thought I was going one of those women who breeze through it all.
I have my 12 scan on Monday - to those who have already had it, did they do the downs test as well? I have changed hospitals because we moved but am going back to my old hospital for the scan, my new mid wife was not very pleased when she heard that I was going back.
I have told work and my new manager could not have been nicer when I told her. I only move to my new role in 4 weeks when I will be 16 weeks but she was really nice about it so that was a huge relief. Grin
good luck for your scan today pretty!
So many people from SW! is anyone from SE? I am in the Bromley area.

MissCalamity · 14/09/2013 08:06

Hi all,
Feel like I'm entering the party late, which is very unlike me Grin
I'm 8+1 and feel pretty exhausted and sick all the time, feel so pathetic as I was really sick yesterday morning then went in work but just felt all weepy & tired, ended up crying at my (male) boss and said I felt I'll and was going home, didn't mention sickness as I know he's put 2 and 2 together.
Feel like such a wuss when others are getting on with things constantly being sick...

So hi everyone from Miss Wuss bag!

Trinpy · 14/09/2013 10:21

welcome and congratulations to the new people.

Good luck with your scan today pretty let us know how it goes.

Sorry to hear so many people are feeling sick. It did occur to me as I was throwing up my breakfast on the morning of my scan that it is a bit much for them to ask us to come in with a full bladder for these things when most of us can't keep a glass of water down Hmm . miss I really don't blame you for going home from work. I've wanted to do that every working day for the last 3 weeks! If I hadn't only just started in this job then I probably would have given in long ago. It's really not worth it sometimes.

Vikkijayne2507 · 14/09/2013 10:54

I took 2 days off last week and was crying as felt so rubbish I couldn't go to work like that its not worth it.

10 + 5 wks
