Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

mums are great.mine is full of useful advice for child rearing 30+ years ago.

catameringue · 11/09/2013 12:42

Yes I bet mine could knock up a toweling nappy in seconds.

prettyinpink90 · 11/09/2013 14:02

We are hoping to tell our parents on Sunday after our private early scan. I am looking forward to telling DPs parents as they've been waiting for their first grandchild for ages but I'm really nervous about telling my parents, my mum is constantly reminding me that she doesn't want to be a grandma yet!

ChocChaffinch · 11/09/2013 15:07

pretty she's gonna have to face it Grin

Mystic73 · 11/09/2013 15:39

Hi cazinlondon, Your very near me then as iam in clapham, very near to balham. My son goes to nursery near there. How old is your son? How many weeks are you? :-)

Fairypants · 11/09/2013 16:40

My mum said that too pretty, but absolutely loved being a granny and totally rearranged her plans so she could see them on a regular basis.
She would be so excited right now Sad

prettyinpink90 · 11/09/2013 18:13

choc haha yes, she hasn't got much choice Grin
Thanks for the reassurance fairy I really hope she is!

Definitelysometime · 11/09/2013 19:42

Ooh, lots of Londoners Smile

I'm in wimbledon - not too far.

mamapants · 11/09/2013 19:51

I'm still waiting for date for scan.
Next midwife appt on 1st Oct, scan should be around then too.
Keep checking if post has been...
We haven't told anyone yet.
Going to wait for scan and then maybe announce it then.

Bodeccia · 11/09/2013 20:07

Evening all

Got my booking in appointment tomorrow which I've been looking forward to. I've been reading info about having a twin pregnancy, and while the "this is what you do to stay healthy" advice is the same, I need to think that these ones might come early. I'm not anxious that my bubas might need to spend some time in an early baby unit or anything, I've only heard amazing things about them, but its just another aspect I need to be aware of when it comes to delivery. I have lots of questions!

Who was the other person here expecting twins? I feel less like the picture of the scream, and I'm getting down to the more pragmatic issues like: we need to buy a bigger car. We'll need one that can comfortably hold three car seats in the back. God its dull, who the hell cares about cars?

8+3

Vikkijayne2507 · 11/09/2013 20:08

I got my scan date horray. 27th September so 2 weeks on Friday. I will be 12 wks and 4 days, exciting and nervous

CazInLondon · 11/09/2013 20:10

My son's 10 months old and I'm 8+1... Not a massive age gap, eeeek!

I'm going back to work next month so he'll be starting nursery then. They so grow up fast. How old is your son Mystic?

Lots of SWers indeed! Maybe we can meet up one day :)

Mystic73 · 11/09/2013 20:38

Hi cazinlondon, my son is 2 and half. I remember when he started nursery..first day I cried more than him. I was lucky to go back to work after 15 months as had hols and allowed unpaid leave. Would hv preferred to have had a bit smaller age gap but after trying to conceive for a good few months, which confused me as instant with the first, realised I was one of the few mums who needed to stop nursing my son to conceive. So delighted now as u can imagine. Be good to meet up, iam bit 'green' at the moment with sickness, so hoping will settle by 12 weeks, settled at 13 weeks when pregnant with my son. R u nervous going back to work? I remember going back, missed my son soo much, but only went back part time which is nice

Trinpy · 11/09/2013 21:19

hi everyone! my scan is tomorrow morning. Im so excited!!! it's like waiting for xmas Grin .

Good luck to anyone else having scans over the next few days.

CazInLondon · 11/09/2013 22:29

Mystic, I'm lucky enough to be going back part time, but really quite scared of telling them I'm preggers again! My 12 weeks scan is scheduled for the week before I go back, so at least I'll know what's happening one way or another. It's not ideal but sounds like there are quite a few other ladies in this situation.

Also feeling pretty rubbish. Not easy with another baby to look after (especially as he's just reached the "crawl everywhere, grab everything, open every cupboard and empty out its contents" stage!), that's for sure.

Good luck Trinpy and everyone else getting their scans soon! Very exciting :)

xx

Ninunina · 12/09/2013 05:23

I do miss some things about London mystic! I miss the convenience of everything, I miss the parks and I miss the shops. I'm sure I'll miss my job too when the time comes to go back to work. But, I can't complain! life in Malta is great. I really want to come to London during my second trimester though. I'm thinking about booking a flight in November just before DD is 2 so I won't have to pay for her seat Wink

Tea1Sugar · 12/09/2013 06:19

Hi mystic, I'm in Kingston. This is dc2. Dd will be a month off turning 4 when this one arrives. Is this your second too?

davidtennantsmistress · 12/09/2013 06:23

I everyone, sorry I've not been about,

It's been good to hear about your birthing stories though, I had two totally different ones, ds1 was horrendous, waters went on the loo at 9am, best place really. Wink m.w came out and told me I wasn't in pain and at zero station, this was at 10.30, however, by 2 I was in be hospital bleeding so heavy walking upto the unit while xh was parking the car, two little old ladies walked me to the maternity unit as I was struggling to walk and bleed and contract! Anyhooo, 2 pm, I was 4 cm gas and air, apparently progressing v quickly for a first, anyhoo, epidoodle was out in about 6pm, xh kept popping in and out of the room to add more money to the car and go to the services for food, I fell asleep from epidoodle and awoke again about 11 12 was ready to push but I couldn't eel anything, 2.5 hours later I was still trying and v v tired begging for a section, anyhoo, had an episiotomy and ventouse. In the end to get him out, he was born at 2.37am, I had haemorrhaged, he had jaundice, he needed light treatment, I needed a lot of stitches and 4 units of blood. I was put on the ward alone which in some ways was nice, and hen we got our own room as we were in for 5 days.

Ds2 I was petrified with and told the m.w as well, however I had much better care, and a part of my problem is I've historically had low iron levels and stores so from 12 weeks I was on 3xiron tablets and apart one every day, until 20 weeks when we reduced it, but basically plug went at 3am, bleeding I rushed to the hospital again, was sent home at 5 as waters hadn't gone, back in for 9.30 ish as in more discomfort, was 4 cm gas and air later waters went mid contraction at about 11 ish, no idea how far, but it scared the hell out of me and dp, think dp more for my sake, then 59 mins and two pushes later he was here, it was the most intense pain as I only had gas and air, was determined not to be stuck on the bed with a drip again, so was very pleased at being more in control. He tore me again so needed stitches, but more as and air, me chatting the young doctor up, and we were back home by 7pm the same night.

This time around I will deffo ask for the water bath it think, I could of last time but decided against and by the time I wanted it someone else s in there. So yes to water bath gas and air I think.

Roll on 17th as getting worried, symptoms are soooo intermittant it's unbelievable. There then nothing. Ith both of my boys by now I was having v v v erotic dreams, but nothing this time, maybe poplet is a girl. (As ds1 told mum he's having two baby sisters!) lol.

Anyhow hope you're all ok, better catch up now. X

ChocChaffinch · 12/09/2013 10:13

how's scan, trinpy ?

PainAuxRaisins · 12/09/2013 10:30

Trinpy how did your scan go? I just got back from mine and everything looked fine. Just one little baby and a strong heartbeat. We were in and out fairly quickly as it was all pretty routine and the due date was as we expected. Me and DH didn't get emotional like we did with DD1 - I think we were just relieved there was something in there but it wasn't quite as exciting as when you see your first baby. I hope everyone else has good scans - especially the first-timers!

ChocChaffinch · 12/09/2013 10:49

ah that's great Painauxraisins ]

did you see the consultant too? or MW?

Mystic73 · 12/09/2013 12:38

Teal1sugar. My son will be 3 and two months when this one arrives, and Kingston is such a lovely area to live! Been there shopping a few times :-)
Good luck telling work, iam sure they will be ok, they will hv you working for a good few months before you go on mat. Leave again.

Mystic73 · 12/09/2013 12:41

Ninunina, I hear u with the flight costs.. I went to Algeria recently with my son who is two and a half, had to pay £675 each!, shocking I think...and I was really ill for the two weeks there with. 24/7 morning sickness.

Mystic73 · 12/09/2013 12:42

Oops tea1sugar the second half of my post was for cazinlondon lol

Trinpy · 12/09/2013 13:07

Hi PainAuxRaisins, glad the scan went well and the baby is ok. You're right about getting emotional with the first baby - dh and I were emotional wrecks after seeing our baby this morning Grin .

It was very cute seeing its little arms and legs waving about. And we have two photos to show off. My due date has changed to 5th April but may well change again because baby was curled up so difficult to measure. We're going back in 2 weeks for another scan and the nt screening.

10+5
