and I want a fit butler in the buff to serve me a large G&T

ananikifo · 23/08/2013 16:39

Sorry I'm not responding to everyone. It's been three days and I need to rant!

I'm sitting in the dentist's waiting room, an hour's bus+tram ride from work, to find I don't have my purse with me. I get anxious enough at the dentist. I normally book morning appointments and take at least half a day off work but this time they cancelled and sent me new appointments in the mail. Now I don't have my maternity exemption card, or my debit card to pay for the non-NHS hygienist. I've had to phone DH to come pay and then drive me back to work to look for my purse because I'll go crazy over the long weekend not knowing where it is. I feel so stupid and I'm holding back the tears and I haven't even seen the dentist yet. Confused

Natalieand · 23/08/2013 16:43

Aw ana xxxx flowers surely its obviously by the giant belly that u are pregnant and therefore exempt from paying? If not then the receptionist is just a jobs worth!!! Hope u find your purse soon!! Xx

I didn't realise so many people used cleaners. Too me it would be like the biggest luxury ever, then again I'm not sure how id feel letting some one root around specially in my absence. My mum and sister done a brief spell of offering a domestic cleaning service I was suprised how popular it was !!

Natalieand · 23/08/2013 16:43

No idea how I ended up writing flowers instead of sending a pic of flowers

Flowers for u ana xx

MotherOfNations · 23/08/2013 16:48

I've been having Uti symptoms since just before I became pregnant Orange and an episode of urethral bleeding at a few weeks pregnant but several samples came back clear of infection.
I think I'll make an appointment at Gp's surgery tomorrow and maybe get Dp to have a look tonight to see if there's any sign of the polyp (if it was just a polyp) that I had previously.

Glad that all went well with you Pseudo

Enough with the name changing. I have enough bother keeping track of who said what as it is.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 23/08/2013 16:51

I'd like a butler in the buff and a cake lady!

HotSoupDumpling · 23/08/2013 16:57

Ana - that sounds like a traumatic dentist appointment, you poor thing. I've done my fair share of leaving my purse/phone etc at home, since the pregnancy began.

Nat - I do feel like it is a huge luxury - we first had one for a period a few years ago when we were both working very long hours and it was amazing. Specifically, SHE was amazing, a real professional and very efficient. It was difficult to get my head around at first as I also don't like the idea of people being around my things in my absence. It helped that I'm quite private, so certain things (dirty laundry, changing beds, insides of cupboards etc) were done by me and she didn't do them. DH wants to get one again as it means less housework for him and less nagging by me!

OrangeBlossom2 · 23/08/2013 16:58

Oh no Ana snap on leaving your purse at home today! Hope your evening improves from here.

xuntitledx · 23/08/2013 17:02

Afternoon!

So tired today, planned a big family BBQ for tomorrow so spent the day in Costco stocking up, back to clean the house before going for a curry tonight :)

Pinkforboys · 23/08/2013 17:04

Oh ladies- I love catching up with your chat in the afternoon. I'd quite like a fit butler serving cakes in the buff too, perhaps doing the cleaning when not baking. Which reminds me- did anyone else hear the stories of 'household accidents whilst cleaning' that the fire brigade had to help with. Included a number of men trapping their bits behind radiators and in toasters Shock They didn't explain how they got them there...

Cake to you all x

OrangeBlossom2 · 23/08/2013 17:08

We had a cleaner for a couple of hours once a fortnight when I used to do tutoring on Saturdays as well as working full time in the week so DH and I could enjoy Sundays and to help us not get too behind on housework but they weren't very good - wasted time doing jobs I specifically asked them not to do like washing up, weren't very thorough in the cleaning they did do and used horrible smelling products. We went through an agency as I wasn't comfortable giving a stranger a key to my house with no accountability so it wasn't that cheap. No way we could afford it when I am not working at all although I'd love for someone to do jobs I hate like changing the bedding and hoovering.

MoN a personal question - are you still managing to dtd every day with uti symptoms? Ouch! Definitely worth a trip to the GP.

TheFalconsmistress · 23/08/2013 17:09

lol pink

ana hugs xx

My cake lady is a woman who make cupcakes with the best toppings my current six have skittles and jelly tots Grin for 5 pound thats including delivery to my house! So not so luxury but the most luxurious thing i pay for they are worth it!!

Natalieand · 23/08/2013 17:10

Poor dd is suffering as a result of me being painfully preggo

Dd: I'm hungry I want some dinner
Me: ok its waffles and fish fingers
Dd:(falls to the floor crying) I don't want fish fingers and

The trauma of being almost 3 hey lol

roofio87 · 23/08/2013 17:11

ana I feel for you, I hate the dentist too, that extra stress is no good. at least ur dh was on hand to help!!

I bought some arnica tablets for after the birth today. they were recommended to me for helping with healing. no idea if they'll work but worth a try!!

I feel awful today, terrible heart burn despite taking my tablet and feel very sick. think baby might have moved round a bit and probably pressing on my tummy more than normal!! my mum's gone out for gaviscon, shes a saint!!

Flyer747 · 23/08/2013 17:13

Haha Pink, male bits in toasters.

Mary our cleaner has become a great friend, she's a crap cleaner but we love her to bits, she has been on trips with me Grinand sat in first class... Everyone laughs when I tell them we take our cleaner away. Luckily she is retiring in December (she is 67) so we are going to have a proper professional cleaner in from Jan onwards.

Oh no ana fancy needing to see your exemption card, I think the bump is a giveaway.

Pink my friend worked in a&e for a few years as a nurse, she used to tell me stories of men who'd come in with all sorts of objects inserted into their bums that had got stuck GrinGrin

claphammama · 23/08/2013 17:22

ana Flowers

oh what objects flyer??! Dying to know!

our cleaner is also crap but I trust her and she is lovely and don't know how to suck her... I'm also very particular so spend ages the night before she comes to make sure there are no dirty clothes anywhere, no washing up to do and everything is tidy so she can clean more easily and do things properly. I only got a cleaner when I had to go back after my first maternity leave and my hours were very long. It wasn't a big flat so it was manageable on my own otherwise. Now in a much bigger house I will be reluctant to let this luxury go...

claphammama · 23/08/2013 17:24

OMG - I was never ever planning to suck my cleaning lady... I meant sack!! I think I need to go home now... getting distracted Grin

PseudoBadger · 23/08/2013 17:28

Oh Flyer you're so nice! I hope we all get first class travel after spending months with you on the October bus :o
