Weddings don't have to cost the earth to be special (and still have all the trimmings) - ours cost well under £2000.
Instead of presents, friends helped create the day; one made the cake, another did the flowers, another did the table centres, a friend's band did the music etc, etc...
It made it a really special.
But I know that wouldn't work for everyone Smile

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 17:55

pseudo I said those exact words to dh last night ''what the hell have we done having another one' dd is almost 3 and despite being a little argumentative tearful Madame ATM she is easier to pop in the car to the shops with and easy at the park and entertains herself alot compared to a baby! Hope you r feeling better this evening xx

I've had quite a few midwife appts too. At weeks 5,13,18,22,26,28,31,32 and every 2 weeks from now until birth as well as 3 consultant appts xx

Will catch up with everything else when dd is nicely tucked up and I can do it in peace lol

Shootingstarsandcomets · 19/08/2013 18:55

pseudo it will be worth it, it really will. Not to sound smug but to make you want another ds and I have had the most wonderful day. He has been a true delight in every way. Just a normal mundane Monday really but he has been such a delightful baby I just feel blessed. Wish I could bottle days like this and open it when we're struggling! Expect he will be horrendous tomorrow!
Fingers crossed for us bluesnow
I have another scan next week to check growth and then one at 38 weeks and one at 40 weeks too.

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/08/2013 19:07

Thanks for the congratulations everyone. My friend is ok and I think was glad not to be alone as her DH went back to work today after their holiday. He is of the opinion that it wasn't a real baby yet which doesn't really help her.

Congrats roofio. Like shire, my sisters wedding cost around £1000 and everyone did something for the wedding as a present, I made the cake, did the food and had two similar ball gowns to use as bridesmaid dresses, grandparents hired the hall for reception, in las. Bought the. Rings, mum bought the dress etc. They had my niece on the way and didn't want to spend much.

MoN did they say how long you can expect to wait for results? Hope all is ok.

Blues do they suggest vbac or c section or do they just leave up to you?

Thanks chickien - good memory! Yes I have a growth scan for. Low placenta next week too. Hoping it has moved. I haven't had any bleeding so it is nice to hear that that is a good sign. Take it easy textbook, no lifting or straining. I hope things continue to be ok.

Natalie I am worried about fleas on the breastfeeding chair I bought from ebay now. The lady had cats who clearly sat in it as it had lots of hairs. I have hoovered it and will wash the covers but all this talk of fleas has got me itching too!

PseudoBadger · 19/08/2013 19:29

Thanks everyone, toothbrushing has been good tonight so I praised him lots and lots (my inner dog trainer comes out....!) and it's DP's turn to put him to bed thank goodness :o
I know that lots of you understand so thank you Flowers and I also feel so bad that his whole little world will change very soon :(

MoN I'm sorry to hear you may have a uti and hope they get back to you soon.

Sorry about your placenta textbook and I hope that the rest of the low placenta gang will have better news.

I've had more appointments with this pregnancy than with my first - however only 2 of these have been with a midwife! Gotta love consultant care and extra scans eh?

I've got my GTT this Friday, and another scan. These who have had the GTT have you all eaten right up until midnight, or just had a late dinner?

bluesnowfalcon · 19/08/2013 19:43

orange they've left it up to me so we opted for vbac rather than recovery from cs. But apparently going to monitor me more closely this time.

shooting I haven't had any scans apart from normal 12 and 20 week ones. Should I/can i be asking for one?

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 19:47

Congrats in your first anniversary orange xx

If u wash the covers in as warm as wash as u can without it shrinking it should be fine. X

Good luck to all those having scans checking on placenta positions, I guess I should be great full for having a boring anterior placenta even if it does effect feeling baby's
movements sometimes x

I admire those that managed too get hitched on a small budget dh and I's wedding cost approx £9,000 but we only paid about £3,000 of that our selves the rest was done cos wedding presents from parents sisters etc but when we started planning it as had hoped to spend as little as possible its so easy too get carried away though isnt it?

Dentist was half a success half not, can't find anything wrongn with my teeth that except a wisdom tooth pushing through at the back (which isn't the tooth that's hurting) but he thinks it must be pushing them forwards making my other teeth hurt but as it would need me putting to sleep to remove it he can't do anything until the baby is born, he couldn't find any sign of infection of anything but then gave me a prescription for anti biotics which to me seems rediculous taking them if he couldn't even see any infections? Silly man!

32 weeks today, 8 weeks to go! X

Hope you are ok MoN and the bleeding has stopped asked your results come back speedily (if that's even a word)

I no we've discussed previously but now were a little further on I just wondered what people's sex lives are like? Mine is virtually non existent ATM and I'm hoping its not just me lol x

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 19:49

pseudo with mine I had to not eat/drink from 9pm then at 7am drink 410ml of lucozade original then bloods taken at 9am xx

roofio87 · 19/08/2013 19:53

My parents have very very nicely offered us £5000 for the wedding. which is more than enough for what we want. We're very lucky. trying to write a guest list and im up to 69 with just our immediate familes!!! Confused

AnythingNotEverything · 19/08/2013 19:59

Pseudo - with mine I had a big bowl or spag bol and a late snack, and honestly felt fine not eating until after. I was surprised as normally I've had breakfast and a snack by then! I arrived at hospital at 8.45 for. 9am appointment, blood taken at 9.15, solution drunk, then bloods taken again at 11.15. I was in Greggs for a cheese sandwich by 11.30!

Natalie ... We're still DTD at 32 weeks! Not very often, maybe fortnightly, but mainly because I'm tired and we're busy getting the house finished. We're down to one position, but it's still working for us. Hoping we can keep it up ..

PseudoBadger · 19/08/2013 20:08

Thanks Nat and Anything - I have to not eat after midnight and then go to hospital for 9am. I'll have a cheese toastie at about 11pm I reckon....

And sex.... Not so much. Dp would love to but I'm so tired and my body isn't really playing ball fluid wise

OP posts:
AnythingNotEverything · 19/08/2013 20:11

I meant to add - I woke at 3am with indigestion and didn't know if I was allowed a rennie! Might be worth checking if you're likely to suffer.

PseudoBadger · 19/08/2013 20:13

That's a very good point, I'll ring them, thanks

OP posts:
bluesnowfalcon · 19/08/2013 20:17

nat sex is good when we have it prob average 2 a week atm which is fairly normal - have to get a bit more bendy or try different positions than normal but ok Grin

GTbaby · 19/08/2013 20:18

Sister. I've been looking at doubles. My 10month old is quite big for his age. When we tried the oyster max out he seemed to fill the chair already. Looking at phil n ted verve which shows the bigger chair is for up to 6yr olds. So going to check it out soon hopefully.

Shirehobbit · 19/08/2013 20:18

Natalie - remind me, what is sex?! Blush
Does that answer your question?

Shootingstarsandcomets · 19/08/2013 20:27

gt we've decided on the verve, not bought it yet but 99% sure we will.
natalie we don't dtd very often at all these days, I am just not in the mood. I feel sorry for DH hit I just can't get into the mood when I look so completely hideous. I am totally unsexy!
bluesnow not sure if you should be asking for more or if its just nhs luck of the draw. My consultant seems keen on scanning rather than the measuring tape, plus ds will only be 13 months when this baby is due so perhaps extra caution due to closeness of pregnancies? Not sure.
I've got his letter that details my last appt with him and it doesn't say why I'm being scanned again it just says that he will at 33 weeks when he sees me next. Sorry can't be more helpful.

chickieno1 · 19/08/2013 20:31

Agree with shire what is sex?????

ananikifo · 19/08/2013 20:35

pseudo good luck with the wedding! So exciting!

anything rennies say on the box that they are safe for pregnancy. One of the indications for using them is pregnancy-related indigestion.

nat I have dtd once since conceiving. I had morning sickness and exhaustion, then DH became worried about hurting baby or it being weird. I've tried to bring up the subject again this week. I'm so jealous of people still doing it.

If anyone missed the 20% of m&s codes last week, clothing is 20% off on the website until tomorrow.

Also I'm sure I registered for the aptamil baby club at least 3 months ago and today I finally got my first post from them: a little bottle of mum to be bath soak. Nice! I had signed up just for the toy polar bear but ticked all the boxes to say I didn't want info on formula feeding do I assumed I just wasn't getting anything.

Wickedgirl · 19/08/2013 20:41

natalie dtd only about once a week now as SPD has made everything too sore

orangeblossom we have 4 cats here but have never had fleas so your breast feeding chair should be fine

I have seen a midwife at weeks 12, 16 and 26. My next visit is next week at 34 weeks and will then be every 2 weeks.

legallyblond · 19/08/2013 20:44

Gosh. Exhausted. We are doing a huge favour for a friend who has a childcare emergency and looking after two boys, just 4 and 18 months, as well as DD (2.10) from today until Weds, until 6.30pm.... Phew. And me 34 weeks with twins... Thankfully DH is mostly around too.

Still, to those thinking of doubles... Road tested our brand new bugaboo donkey today with DD and the 18 month old on seats (DD is tall - she's in a group 3 car seat) and the 4yo on the buggy board.... Its a dream!!

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 20:48

I have to say I admire u legally I wouldn't want to use my pushchair outside until I had my real new born baby to test it with lol x

PseudoBadger · 19/08/2013 20:48

I'm not getting married Ana - 8 years engaged no sign of a wedding :o

Legally you are a great friend!

OP posts:
ananikifo · 19/08/2013 20:52

Sorry I meant roofio.

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 20:54

Baby has hiccups hehe dh can even see them.

And ah Jesus Christ my toothache is killing me I definately can't take 8 weeks of toothache until I can have my wisdom tooth removed!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one not getting any sex lol I like the idea of getting it but when dh comes on to me I just give him the brush off cos I then don't feel up to it then regret it later hmmpphh
