legally you are an angel... this is a huge favour. Hope your friend appreciates and I'm sure it will all come back to you. I do believe in karma!

re: sex - I'm afraid I'm like a rabbit Blush. Never exactly suffered from low sex drive but this extra blood flow and hormones are doing something to me... I'm trying to comfort DP telling him that last time I went off it completely for 3 months after birth so the end is in sight. Also running out of positions though

We also got engaged in March so will have to think about the wedding at some point. To be honest, I would love to elope... and do it just the two of us plus DCs somewhere lovely abroad. DP has a massive family and my family is complicated (to say the least) - it would be so much stress and I want it to be just about us and I want it to be a happy relaxed day. Would only take MIL as she is lovely and could babysit!

MotherOfNations · 19/08/2013 20:58

Congratulations on your anniversary orange

Dp said last night that I'm getting to big for sex now. When I looked offended he said that he feels like he might hurt the baby if he's on top. I'm reluctant to go on top because apart from being really lazy now it irritates my urethra. I should get the results back from the lab in 3 days so hopefully I'll get some relief soon.

AnythingNotEverything · 19/08/2013 21:03

Sorry Anan - I should be clearer! I meant that I wasn't sure I was allowed a Rennie because of my fasting glucose tolerance test.

I'm getting through so many I probably ought to buy shares ...

ananikifo · 19/08/2013 21:07

Lol I messed that post up, big-time!!

HotSoupDumpling · 19/08/2013 21:11

Rennies! Completely forgot they existed and suffered really badly in the past month. Now they are my best friend...

Lots of news to catch up on today. Textbook, glad you are having consultant care. Amazed by the number of engaged ladies we have on the thread - how lovely!! Would love to hear the wedding chat. Had a very small wedding myself, but am fascinated by all weddings, big or small!

Flyer747 · 19/08/2013 21:14

Evening All, what a dog of a day...dp had all his tyres slashed on his car, no idea who or why but mega peed off....4 new tyres that are mega expensive ones as well, just what we need when we have loads of stuff still to buy....

Test results came back ok so my symptoms are obviously all in my head.

Off for a long soak. I need chocolate.

Congrats on the anniversary orange.

Text I hope all keeps going ok with the placenta previa, my friend had one earlier thus year but it was never picked up believe it or not, she had to have emcs at 28 weeks, her wee boy is doing really well though. It's good that you are being closely monitored.

Flyer747 · 19/08/2013 21:18

Sorry textbook I just re read that post and I don't want to put the fear of god in you....what I meant is its good you are being monitored as unlike my friend who wasn't that you'll go full term because they are keeping a close eye on it.

MotherOfNations · 19/08/2013 21:27

Did you go for your bra fitting Flyer?

Pinkforboys · 19/08/2013 21:29

pseudo I was told to fast 24hrs pre GTT, which was from 9pm the night before. Only water after that. They made us drink foul sugar solution before the successive BTs. Not pleasant but i really enjoyed the late brekkie afterwards.

I'm envious of those rabbits on the thread. I've had more in my dreams than in reality the last 9mths! But DH and I are waaaay over the honeymoon period. Oh to be engaged again....

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 22:00

Where's our resident dentist when u need her? Lol rachel r u here? Xx

TheFalconsmistress · 20/08/2013 00:13

Evening had a strange and hectic day.

Nat sex is not on the cards here dtd about 4 times since conception just too tired in all honesty.

As for weddings me and DH got hitched at gretna green our whole wedding cost just over 2 grand which my folks paid most of. The package we paid for to have the actually ceremony over the anvil, a piper, a photographer was only £595 lol we arranged it in 6 weeks when we realised the "dream" wedding we had already put a deposit on was going to cost us about 10,000 we did not have! I got married on the winter solstice it was beautiful!

PseudoBadger · 20/08/2013 06:35

I think that all the physical effort that DS demanded yesterday has taken its toll - I've woken up with bad PGP. I've checked my work diary and I'm going to phone in sick and do nothing all day (DS goes to childminder).

OrangeBlossom2 · 20/08/2013 07:09

Bleugh a very bad nights sleep here. Couldn't get comfy. Very wriggly baby, hurting up my left side and hips, dry lips, thirsty, needing toilet every hour, hungry, too cold, too hot... I am not sure i got much more than a couple of hours. Moan moan moan.

Has anyone else started making meals and freezing them? I really want to get started on that. Waiting in for a parcel today but as soon as it comes I am going to buy some cheap foil trays from the pound shop and start with some lasagnes.

Good luck with the GTT test and flyer glad tests were all ok for you.

Flyer747 · 20/08/2013 07:28

Lousy night sleep here as well orange. Feel like I've been dug up.

Another horrid headache, I'm averaging 3 per week in this last trimester. Confused

Supposed to be in work too, luckily as I only do 3 days I have just texted my boss asking her to swap my day to another.

Orange that's very organised of you, I wish I could be so disciplined by preparing meals in advance. Just cooking dinner is a mega chore for me these days. Grin

Natalieand · 20/08/2013 07:59

Morning all. Flowers to those they didn't sleep too well xx

I woke twice for a wee and my tooth pain is a little less severe today thank god I didn't chuck dd's teething gel away lol

I'm with u flyer I put cooking dinner off till I really have to do it and dh is like what's for dinner?... Hmm whatever u get out the freezer for yourself lol

Hope your day of rest helps ease your pain pseudo

ananikifo · 20/08/2013 08:08

I think once my kitchen in the new house is useable I'll start batch cooking. I'll be almost 37 weeks when I leave work so it's quite possible that I may not get a lot of time at home before baby comes to do things like that.

We found out that one of DH's best friend just had a bfp and will be due exactly 6 months after us! She texted me to ask if it's normal to feel tired, and it made me realise how far we've come since we were asking those kinds of questions. Almost at the end, now.

And sympathies to the insomniacs. I had the worst night's sleep on Sunday but last night DH brought home a really special bottle of wine he'd been given at work. I had my first half glass of wine since February and I slept like a baby! I found myself thinking I should do that every night, and then remembering that it wouldn't be a good idea...

OrangeBlossom2 · 20/08/2013 08:23

I am glad the tooth pain is a little better today Natalie. I case you were thinking of it, don't take adult bonjella without checking, I read the info leaflet when I had a mouth ulcer a few months ago and I seem to remember it not being good in pregnancy.

I am on summer holidays for a couple more weeks so want to get as much done as possible now, then I am working to 38 weeks and could potentially have no free time before the baby arrives. I enjoy cooking much more than cleaning too - a much more interesting form of nesting.

I am a bit scared of the baby name boards MN... What do you think of our name choices (we don't know what we are having yet). Our surname is 3 syllables starting with W.

Sophie Katherine (My mums middle name as middle name)
Sophie Matilda
Sophie Elizabeth (My grandmothers name as middle name)

Amelie Katherine
Amelie Charlotte
Amelie Florence

Thomas John (both our grandfathers names as middle name)
Thomas Oliver

Natalieand · 20/08/2013 08:32

Love Amelie Florence and Thomas Oliver out of those orange all of them are lovely but that would be my choice from the list xx

Names are a minefield in my house we don't even have a short list and were having a boy. We chose quite early on what dd would be called and its stressing me out being no where near choosing a name x

ananikifo · 20/08/2013 08:34

Orange I like all your names, especially an combination with Sophie because I really like Sophie.

And I hope your tooth feels better, nat.

Flyer747 · 20/08/2013 08:40

Orange I like all those names. Sophie Katherine and Elizabeth go well together, I also love the name Sophie (friends already have it though)

I also love Thomas it's my boys name of choice, however dp's best friend had a boy in jan and called him Thomas! Boohoo Hmm although they live miles away and we see them twice a year tops so I don't see why we can't use it also!

Pinkforboys · 20/08/2013 09:23

orange all those names are lovely. Good grandparents' names to choose from. I love both Sophie and Amelie, with either of those she's got to be a beautiful and gentle girl (fx)

I've just done a mega-shop online at GAP- 25% off kids & baby wear til Thursday with BTS25. Their babygros are so soft and were my fave for DS. Having said I wouldn't be a sucker for pink I've succumbed! But not for the royal theme stuff tho, cute as it is!

Sorry to those who slept really badly- here's to a good nap...x

Smitten1981 · 20/08/2013 09:54

Hi everyone, haven't been posting for a while but have been reading. Sympathies to those with aches and pains and insomnia - not long to go now though!

We had a 4D scan on Sunday and got some good pics, he looks like his dad for sure. He's measuring 2 weeks ahead at a slightly big 5lbs already, but he's still within the percentile curve so that's a blessing. He spent the whole scan trying to reach his foot with both arms out, so that was cute to watch.

On the name front we're still really stuck, the only name we can agree on is Felix, but DH is going off it and we were out Saturday night and were talking about names and someone who was out was like "Don't listen to anyone about names, it's up to you", blah blah, and then 5 mins later said "I really like Felix, but my husband says it's really gay". Thanks for that!

I guess we're just going to have to wait and see what he looks like.

Orange I love Thomas for a boy, It'd be high up on our list if it wasn't my ex's name - grr! My neighbours have just had a Thomas too. Sophie and Amelie are lovely as well, I especially like Sophie Matilda, Matilda was on our list for a girl.

SeriousStuff · 20/08/2013 10:04

Orange Sophie Matilda is a very nice name.

We've had our name agreed for the last 5 months, but the last couple of days, I've started to doubt it. To the point where DH and I started going back through the baby name book last night. We drafted another list, then decided maybe we just stick with what we chose initially as it will become the baby's name after a while, even if it feels weird now. Anyone else having this problem?!

Permission to moan too! Had another awful night's sleep. Managed to stop myself from napping yesterday, hoping it would help, but didn't get to sleep until after 3am and had to get up 4 times to pee! I've done an hour's work and now I'm ready for my bed!

PseudoBadger · 20/08/2013 10:15

I would have loved Thomas if we were having a second boy - but not sure you can have a Dylan and a Thomas....?
My best friend's DS is Felix and I love the name.

claphammama · 20/08/2013 10:17

I agree with everyone orange - these are all lovely and classic names. I think you can't go wrong with either combination. And I know what you mean about MN baby names board... or other boards. I sometimes click on Mumsnet Discussions of the Day if something piques my interest and am shocked how nasty and opinionated some people can be!

smitten I love Felix. It was one of my favourite boy names.

sympathies to everyone who had a bad night... fellow insomniac here so feel for you

flyer what an awful day yesterday... hope you are feeling better and the long soak helped? Take it easy today. And DP's car tyres... shocker. Why would someone do it? Envy? Is it a nice car? Tyres can be so incredibly expensive... we changed ours two months ago I and couldn't believe how much they cost...

pseudo good for you! A day off without DS should make all the difference and things will look better by 5pm :-) Make sure you don't guilt yourself into doing something at home (this would be me!) and you really take this day to rest and look after yourself. You don't have long before your ML right?

natalie glad your tooth feels better. Why on earth would your dentist prescribe antibiotics to a pregnant woman without an obvious and valid reason...?

I am also planning to cook and freeze as soon as my ML starts. I love cooking anyway so not really a chore and will need to fill my time anyway as DS will be at school (I miss him so much this week... Sad)

DP has a man flu and is really annoying. It's really just a runny nose, no cough, no fever, no sore throat. But he is dying... and cannot be cured. Ever.
