Boux avenue still use the old add 4 inches method but if you try a bra on in the size you got from your own measurements they are ok at checking the fit for you. John Lewis and Debenhams are hit and miss. Run a mile if they bring a tale measure out. A good fitter never uses one.

MotherOfNations · 18/08/2013 22:02

Bravissimo probably the best and as I said sine fitters at Debenhams are good. I've just been measuring myself lately and try on at boux avenue and get them to check the fit.

MotherOfNations · 18/08/2013 22:07

I was wearing a 38 B for years because of ubbish fitters and their add 4 I ches nonsense and when the cups see ed to gape I thought I would try an A cup but that didn't fit right either so decided to go to Debenhans for a fitting and couldn't believe it when the fitter put me in a 32 E.

Flyer747 · 18/08/2013 22:09

I will give bravissimo a whirl then and report back with my new and improved breast sizing. Thanks for the advice.

MotherOfNations · 18/08/2013 22:12

You're welcome. Even Desperate Dan noticed the difference when I came home wearing a bra in my new size. You won't believe the difference it makes

Shirehobbit · 18/08/2013 22:22

I just wonder what back size I'll end up, post baby, once bump and ribs recede.
I'm still Shock !

Thanks Grin

JellyCurls · 18/08/2013 22:28

I'll vouch for bra guru I was wearing an M&S sized 38 B that fitted nowhere and following the new way to measure I am now a 34G and result is look slimmer and more in proportion. Getting bit tight round ribs now but at 34 weeks I figure my bump will drop soon so ribs will recover a bit. Will get measured properly at about 38 weeks if can face a trip to Glasgow.

SeriousStuff · 19/08/2013 02:50

Anyone still up?! This insomnia is killing me. Luckily I have the day off tomorrow but come Tuesday, uh-oh...

Tarlia · 19/08/2013 04:33

Serious hope you managed to get to sleep in the end!!

5.30, I'm awake again! Urg! It seems the less sleep I get in the day, the less I can sleep at night..!?

Hope you lovelies are all fast asleep. Monday again, another weekend closer to D-day!

funkky · 19/08/2013 07:19

Hope you ladies had a good weekend. Congrats to 34 pink lady for our first Oct. baby. I think we had the same due date of 25 sep? so this has really brought it home that we are nearly there.

Off for scan this morning at 34+5 cause I had anterior low lying placenta, also baby was breech at last MW appointment so been humping my preg ball and hoping for some good news today!

Has anyone had their hosp tours, had one last week and quite enlightening how basic the maternity/ delivery wards are, on the other hand it made me feel a bit relaxed that the rooms were not too complicated, just go in pop baby out and get out again......

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 07:31

U late September lot really don't have long to go! Especially if u end up with 37 weeks deliveries xxx

I have been up all night it feels that way anyway we've a terrible toothache. I can only hope they have appts today or I make breakdown in a big crying mess.

I haven't really given bras much thought tbh as I won't be breast feeding I will only need something suitable for a few days while my milk reduces after coming in, so ill probly go for an asda type sports bra or something along those lines

Hope u manage to get some sleep serious x

pinkbuttons · 19/08/2013 08:00

Hope you managed to get some sleep serious and tarlia, I seem to be exactly the same, if I make myself not nap in the day I cant sleep at night. its like my brain is on overdrive.
Just had a look at the bra guru site and its amazing how wrong places get it. I always though m&s were reliable! Really hoping if I measure myself I'll br able to get rid of the back fat situation ive developed atmBlush Ive always been a soze 8-10 and been measured as a band 34-36 but that doesnt sound right from what theyre saying.
Going to measure myself today, thankyou for enlightening me ladies!
Hope scan goes well funky and placenta and baby have bith moved. Enjoy seeing little one again
Oh no for your tooth ache natalie! Hope youre able to get an appt today. will keep my fingers crossed for you x
Anyone else with toddlers struggling to keep up? Im 33+2 and feeling guilty that DS is going to have a day just playing with his toys and colouring. After a busy weekend I just cant muster the energy to walk to the library or park etc. plus Im not sure my painful hips would allow that and sorting out the babies room. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

Warlin · 19/08/2013 08:49

Ah, I miss a few days of MN and miss our first baby!! Massive congrats 34pink how scary but so glad little Josie is here safe and well Flowers. Hope she doesn't have to stay too long in hospital. How exciting!!!!!!!! Wow, unbelievable!

Will grab a coffee and read back over the pages of gossip I've missed in a minute but just wanted to check in.

DH had a dinner date booked for Friday night and ds was staying with my parents. SO annoyed as I started feeling really strange on Friday and developed a V&D bug whilst out for dinner so we came home early and I spent most of the night awake feeling rubbish :( Was worried it was the onset of labour at one stage. Feel better now though...typical.

On the good news front, we picked up our bugaboo donkey yesterday and I really like it. It fits through the front and internal doors which I wasn't sure it would so I'm pleased about that and it seems to nice to push. Feel a bit anxious about having it there and no baby yet so it's in the spare room until needed!!! Makes it very real once the pram is sorted!!

pink I'm the same on the toddler front. I love ds to bits but he really exhausts me at times. I think my bump has dropped a bit as I noticed out with the dog that I wasn't as breathless as I have been. Fingers crossed baby has turned too.

I'm thinking of finishing up a week early in work as I really can't face it any longer. That would mean finishing the end of August.

Anyway sorry for the me me post, will be back later

roofio87 · 19/08/2013 09:03

I'm definitely going to try bravissimo for measuring and getting some nursing bras. after all this talk im sure im probably wearing the wrong size too!!

our new bed just got delivered! ! can't wait till dp puts it together. delivery driver was hilarious. asked him if he would put it upstairs he said he would seeing as I am 'about to pop' but anyone else he would tell to 'do one!' haha, defo some advatages of being pregnant! !

Shootingstarsandcomets · 19/08/2013 09:13

Me! I'm struggling with a toddler well he doesn't toddle yet, crawls, but he was up all night with his teeth and I'm shattered. We have our first settling in session at nursery today, can't believe he's nearly one!
Am going to try the bra guru but am now worried the bras I ordered are going to be totally wrong............

bluesnowfalcon · 19/08/2013 09:21

When are people getting fitted for nursing bras? I was thinking about doing it at 34 weeks but not sure if that is too early?

roofio87 · 19/08/2013 09:31

I'd heard 38 weeks is best as bump is likely to have dropped and so rib cage is a bit more back to normal size. That's what I'm going to do, but some might feel that's leaving it a bit late!! I know that was my sisters plan with dc2 but she never made it to 38 weeks so was stuck with no bras after the birth!!

GTbaby · 19/08/2013 09:53

Pink and shooting I'm the same with my 10month old crawler. He learnt to crawl last week and has now become very hard work. He is also going through a clingy stage it seems. Which is made worse by the fact he can now crawl over to me and will pull at my dress/trousers struggle to get up until I pick him up.

I do feel bad as I don't take him out as much as I would have has a not been preg. With morning sickness n now SPD we spend most our time at home Hmm.

Are you putting/keeping your toddlers into nursery. Unfortunately with another year on mat pay means ill have both DC full time. My mum may be able to have DS a few days a week so I can give bump more attention which will be good.

Just had my WC injection. Gosh it hurt! Nurse did it to high I think where my arm isn't as fleshy.

Bra I got fitted at 37weeks last time. Which I think was a general recommendation. If your going to buy and use the bra now and your fitted with a smaller chest. Buy those extender hook things so you can use the bra now and after birth. Also it took a while for my ribs to contract back to normal size.

Ok I'm off to watch the rest of wright stuff lol
Enjoy your monday

bluesnowfalcon · 19/08/2013 09:53

Thanks roofio I was only planning to do it a bit early as I go back to work after the summer holidays on the 4th but don't finish for my maternity leave until about 5 days before they are apparently going to try a sweep at 39 weeks! So thought I'd make it the last thing I do before going back to work.

I'll give shop a ring and see what they say too but I wondered if it might be too early :)

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 10:05

Just an update in my flea situation to those that offered advice. After a little research we discovered that the council offer a 'pest control' sounds a bit extreme service for £32.50 (we would have paid near in £20 for Nother shop brought house hold spray anywy) so decided to opt for that and brought some front line drops for the cat and the plus side to this is I won't have to move all the furniture out the way as 1. It isn't required apparently 2. Its in Wednesday (dh's day off so he can do any lugging about) .

Also managed too get a dentist appt for 12.45 yippee

Off too argos today too buy a little storage type thing I've seen to keep nappies etc in in the living room and to buy a giant sized indoor airer as my washing amount is about to dramatically increase.

As for toddlers. Dd is a bit hit and miss ATM, she usually does 15 hours a week at pre school but as its the holidays she's home full time ATM but I've managed to get out with friends most days although tbh she's happier at home doing noting her lack of iron makes her so tired. Add to that the tantrum she has at getting dressed time each day as its not summer dress weather and she wants to look 'beautiful'

GT if your ds is 10M does that mean he will be turning 1 Around your due date?

MotherOfNations · 19/08/2013 10:14

I've just discovered our dog has fleas Natalie. We treat him regularly with the drops you put behind the neck but I noticed one jumping across my phone screen yesterday and have noticed him scratching a lot.
Also he seems to constantly smell lately despite been washed every week. Anyone any ideas on what might be causing it?

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 10:16

MoN apparently its the heat we've had recently? According to the pets at home advisor anyway lol. The cat only got them because I accidentally used the wrong flea treatment about 8 weeks ago and now were having a nightmare getting rid of them. I haven't actually seen any fleas in the house but I have had a few bites and the cat is scratching like mad the cat is white so if u look into her fur u can see the horrible flea droppings (bleurgh) so now u also have to delightfull task of de fleaing your house :-( which is the worst bit if u ask me!

Natalieand · 19/08/2013 10:18

Also MoN if u are flea treating the dog and washing him weekly would that not be washing off the flea treatment? As the flea lady I spoke too said the drops work by spreading through the animals coat and then when the flea lands on it cat to bite the treatment poisons said flea x

Shirehobbit · 19/08/2013 10:20

Have you looked in your dog's ears, MoN - ear infections can produce some pretty awful smells.

Shirehobbit · 19/08/2013 10:21

I feel like someone has taken my batteries out today! Listless and contemplating a nap already Shock Blush
