legally amazing weights!! Bigger than my singleton :)

Flyer how are you feeling today?

Sweating post birth- yes, yuk! I woke soaking at night after about a week. Lasted quite a while, however not as long as my friend who was still suffering almost 2 years later! Apparently it's all hormones (from pregnancy and more if breastfeeding) and excess fluid.

Bras- my suggestion is, unless you need bras now as you've grown again (in which case buy a nursing bra but nothing too extravegant as mostly likely wont fit after for a while) then buy these I leaked buckets at night so having something comfy and could hold pads was a must for a good 8 months! Yes, hello mono boob but when you are engoreged with milk all you want is comfort. Then you can sent DP out to buy a selection of sizes in the bra you had your eye on if you are not up to going out after a couple of weeks, but you probably will.

Flyer747 · 18/08/2013 13:10

Feeling much better thanks Tarlia, just in work, bored to death. Roll on 5pm

Shirehobbit · 18/08/2013 13:14

Did you say your eyesight isn't good, Flyer? Can't remember if it was you who said it was, but if you do wear lenses/glasses, could that be the cause of the headaches? Pregnancy can cause eyesight prescription changes. Just a thought.

Umlauf · 18/08/2013 13:18

From my bravissimo training, nursing bras should be purchased as near to the end as possible, making sure that you have hooks to tighten the bra not as your ribcage shrinks after the birth. Its not possible to predict the growth as each woman and pregnancy is different, but as a rule allow about a fists room in each cup for the early breastfeeding days for when your milk comes in. The breast pads also take up room so allow a cup size for them if you're planning on wearing them, otherwise they can show through the bra and look like enormous nipples. Bands should be fairly firm, so if they feel tight now that's good as you're not going to get wider around the back.. The best thing to do is only buy one for the first few days and the rest when your size settles.

Obviously I have no personal experience of this, as this is dc1! When I was in the uk I bought a 32j as it was the biggest cup size they did, and I'm wearing a 34g now, so it is much bigger. I'm terrified of mastitis and am going to be really careful with bras! The only one I think ill be able to wear is the Panache Sophie (I hate the Royce and the lovely Elle McPherson/bravado won't give me support)

tuckingfits · 18/08/2013 15:24

Umlauf - at the risk of sounding like a Hot Milk sales person... I am currently in a 36G am a 32f/g when not pregnant/feeding. Last time around I wore the panache Sophie because it was the best I could find in terms of support, not particularly hideous etc. however,it didn't support me very well, the fabric by the drop cup clips tore & frayed quickly & I just wasn't that impressed. This time I have found hot milk bras, they go to big sizes, they are more supportive for me,they feel stronger & better quality & although I obviously haven't used them for feeding yet they aren't fraying or looking tired yet as the sophies were by this stage. They are also a bit cheaper than Sophie from www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk. Am sure they can be found cheaply elsewhere but that's where I got them from. I know they do international postage but didn't pay attention to rates... Might be worth a look just so that you don't feel you have to go with the Sophie ones. I know I didn't like the Royce ones & whatever the name of the other large cup panache feeding bra is,just looked awful on me...

Umlauf · 18/08/2013 16:58

Thanks tucking I just looked and they are beautiful but when I put 32J in it just brought up the horrible beige Royce ones and the panache Sophie!!

I guess its my back to cup size ratio that is the problem, I'm clearly a booby freak!! Damn them! Maybe when/if they settle and get a bit smaller ill fit into the hot milk ones, I hope so because they are better value.

Umlauf · 18/08/2013 17:00

Only £1 international delivery!! That's a really good site! Oh damn my boobs!!!

Sparkeleigh · 18/08/2013 17:00

Woohoo! I'm just back from putting down the deposit on the pram Grin I was so sure I was going for the Baby Jogger Versa but then we went to mothercare to look at cots and saw the Britax Affinity and loved it. It's quite bulky in the boot when it's folded with the seat on, but they'd not removed the label from an expired offer to get the carrycot free, so we got the lot for £408 Grin

In case anybody isn't on the fb page and is interested in mothercare vouchers, this link has all of the ones available in the mothercare baby and me club. My phone won't let me paste it in the right place in this reply so I'll put it in the next one...

Sparkeleigh · 18/08/2013 17:05

www.mothercarebabyandmeclub.com/vouchers/

If they didn't want people to use them they should have designed their website better... Grin

MotherOfNations · 18/08/2013 17:18

Legally They won't give me a c-section date til I'm 34 weeks, I'm 31+3 now.

Flyer Are you absolutely sure you've been measured correctly because a pre pregnancy rib cage measurement of 32 is unusual in anyone under a size 12. I think I might just buy the bravado ones you've all been talking about. I'm quite saggy and need a lot of lift so they probably won't do very much for me but atleast they'll be comfy.

legallyblond · 18/08/2013 17:27

For me (prob 34D or so right now, so not huge) the Bravado body silk ones are amazing and no mono boob Smile

Haylebop12 · 18/08/2013 17:38

I'm just dealing with the monoboob!

I think the uti the midwife predicted is here. Although there's no pain when going to the loo I am weeing a lot today and its getting rather annoying. Sad

Another shift down today, just four to go. Thurs, sat, sun and Tuesday!

tuckingfits · 18/08/2013 17:41

Oh no um sorry to have tantalised you & then have you left disappointed. Can't even suggest a way around that :(.

sparkeleigh what a great deal you got - well done!!

Flyer747 · 18/08/2013 18:16

My eyesight has gone worse since I've become pregnant. I don't think it's what is causing my headaches. I was always quite headache prone pre pregnancy, especially around period time, I suspect it's hormone related.

Mon I was a 32c pre pregnancy clothes size 8, I'm now a clothes size 12 Shock

Natalieand · 18/08/2013 18:30

I no theoretically she's a nobody lol but Katie price had a baby boy today 8 weeks early which means she would have also had an October due date x

Haylebop12 · 18/08/2013 18:46

Yep and he was 5lb 3! Big baby for that early!

MotherOfNations · 18/08/2013 19:54

Where were you measured flyer beccause at a size 12 I was a 32 back. At a size 8 28 seems more likely. A lot of stores still measure the outdated way by adding 4 inches I onto the rib cage measurement.
Try googling "the bra guru fitting guide" and measure yourself.

TheFalconsmistress · 18/08/2013 20:35

Evening,

34 weeks today!!! I am so ready for her to come though the crippling fatigue is back, anyone else??

flyer I too recommend the bra guru

Hope everyone has had a good weekend Ds is looking forward to school again tomorrow so that's worked well, hows DD mon has she settled in?

MotherOfNations · 18/08/2013 21:27

She was fine on Friday Falcon. I was so busy tabbing away to my sister I didn't even notice her go in when the bell rang. I just hope that going back tomorrow after having the weekend off doesn't set her back again.

Shirehobbit · 18/08/2013 21:28

Whoa! I've just read that bra guru site Shock - according to that, I've never been wearing the right size!!

Pinkforboys · 18/08/2013 21:36

bridget thanks for the recommendation. Just added to my Ocado order...

I'm sitting here painting my toenails as I fear it won't be long before I can't reach them. Oh for a pedicure and full body massage....

I'm 31+2 now and feel like her ladyship's head has moved down into my pelvis, movement are definitely lower and less pronounced- would that be about right for 31 weeks?
My Mum's worried she'll come early as I've been clearing out cupboards all week (her idea of nesting).
x

Flyer747 · 18/08/2013 21:48

Me neither shire Grin I'm gonna go and get fitted this week, might try bravissimo.

Flyer747 · 18/08/2013 21:54

In fact Boux Avenue seem to get better % on the fittings, so may try there. There is one in the Trafford Centre I think you are Manchester way shire?? I'm meeting my sister there on Tuesday evening so will pop in for a fitting! I'm shocked 34 years old and I'm wearing the wrong bra sizes all these years Shock

MotherOfNations · 18/08/2013 21:57

I tried telling you all but would you listen?.... Grin.
It'll change your life... Well your boobs anyway.

Flyer747 · 18/08/2013 22:00

Omg MoN I know I just couldn't be told GrinGrin thanks for the tip. Have you been measured and if so where do you recommend?
