hi
re double buggies i'd highly recommend a Phil and Teds. we got one ds2 was born and it's been fantastic, can hardly fault it. Ds1 was 21mnths. it's a double buggy but the width of a single. it's kind of double decker style. designed by NZ outdoor company so really tough. ds1 was still needing daytime sleeps when ds2 was born so on a day out ds1 would be flat in the baby sling bit and ds2 on the top seat napping. (the top seat isn't mega comfortable for any quality sleeping but def. fine if they are desperate for sleep and home is nowhere near!). any questions feel free to ask, i'm a convert for sure! can also look on www.philandteds.com then go to products and buggies. you can buy it all over the place now if you go online and usually find soem great deals.

qsack · 26/06/2006 20:44

ok, so i should have previewed my message! i meant to say ds2 would be in the baby sling and ds1 on the top seat!

qsack · 26/06/2006 20:50

oh, one more thing. i'm 5ft 9 and have the handle on the lower height setting. (it has two settings)

ELM · 26/06/2006 20:56

Saw the mw today for booking app, she said that 'stretchy' pains and occasional sharp pains are normal, as long as they are occasional and not prolonged.
Becks - lol at sneezy pains....I've been getting them too (hayfever) so I'll do anything to avoid sneezing!
If you hven't got one in the bedroom already, a fan going at night worked miracles for me.
Also found out that my local birthing centre is closing down, probably before January. As of yet no-oe knows what the alternatives are going to be.

becks5109 · 27/06/2006 12:11

Loubie I think we're feeling the same. I have woken up with yet another ear infection - feel rotten and so run down. Which antibiotics are you on as last time I just did ear drops as they gave me erythmycin which made me feel very sick so i had to stop taking them.

ELM · 27/06/2006 12:21

Happy Birthday LTH!

indignatio · 27/06/2006 16:05

Becks5109 - I'm on the same antibiotics as you and they gve me terrible tummy trouble too - the only problem is, if I stop taking them my ear infections don't clear - I don't know which is worse....I might see if I can have a different sort thats kinder on the tummy. Hope you feel better soon x

LadyTophamHatt · 28/06/2006 16:19

Hi girls, I felt abit bad posting this yesterday after reading indigitos news. She read about it on another thread and has asked me to brighten the mood abit

I've just copied and pasted it....

Had Fab birthday!!!
I had a scan this morning after Gp referred me to EPU.

Sonographer was so pleased with the images that he bought forward my nuchal scan booked for next week and did it all today.
Best results I've ever on a scan and had 1/2099 for Downs and 1/6745 for the other thing the test(can't rember waht its called). He said those results put me a age 15!!!
Not bad concidering it's my 33rd birthday!

-----

I can't tell you how relieved I was. I still felt a bit freaked out by the whole "OMG theres a baby in there" thing but he gave me 4 photos of the little person because it was my b'day.
We went shopping after and shoppd til we almost dropped. Almost missed the train home to collect the boys from school...I had to run !!!

and almost gave myslef a heart attack doing so....christ it nearly killed me!

anyway, thats the scan news....I am now in the 2nd trimester...Hoooo-rah!! the sonographer has bought my dates forward a little too. Neww EDD 9th Jan.

Loubie37 · 28/06/2006 17:55

Fab news LTH, and congrats on reaching the 2nd trimester!

I hope my levels are as good as yours - although I'm 38 so not expecting them to be brilliant!

Loubie xx

It seems to be going fsater than I thought which is great at the moment. I keep seeing stuff I want to buy but still feel it's too early.
I was the same with dd4 and left it so late I didn't have everything coz she came at 33 weeks

LadyTophamHatt · 28/06/2006 18:50

Magnolia, how many people have asked/said to you "Ohhh I bet you want a boy" or "Ohhh you might get a boy this time!!" or words to that effect??

I get it all the time!!

(although obv the say girl)

Hi Everyone, not posted for yonks but have been lurking. Sorry to hear about those of you who have lost your precious babes.... sending you all a big ((((hug)))

Makes me a bit guilty to post my news that I've had my nuchal scan.... and (unbelievably!) I really do have a baby on board. Measuring spot on for dates, so EDD is still the 3rd Jan - and everything looking fine so far. "Relieved" just doesn't come close to describing how I felt when we saw our little bubba for the first time

Sickness went away for a couple of weeks but is now back again .... and the tiredness is still completely overwhelming. Really looking forward to the "blooming" stage!

So, just got to decide when to start telling everyone. I want dd to be the first to know, so hoping to keep it quiet for a few more weeks. She's got a 5th birthday coming up soon, so want to make a big fuss of that... and save the much-requested sibling news till after that.

Good luck to everyone else due their 12/13 week scans and lots of (that's envy, not sickness vibes!) to those who have started to bloom

Iona
13 weeks today
