Oh LTH I am sure everything is ok, we are such a worrying bunch aren't we. {{{{Hugs}}}} to you and let us know asap tomorrow that things are ok.

I have had horrible period pains and keep expecting blood and now is when I am glad I have a doppler. Dh wants me to send it back (its rented) but I am not feeling any movement yet so want to wait till then.

Ellie: hope you are ok too hun, isn't bleeding the scariest thing in the world. Loubie is right though it is so common and I have never had a pregnancy without bleeding.

Laughalot: Glad you had a good holiday, running round after little one is not easy though, bet you need another holiday now

Elm and Kerry so pleased you had good scans

Jess: Hope your daughter is better soon xxx

Well I am sitting here after eating nearly a whole punnet of cherry tomatoes none left and I want more!!!!

sunnydelight · 11/07/2006 20:35

I just wanted to say good luck for the morning LTH. As you are talking of coming to the Brighton meet up I'm assuming you're going to the RSCH? The staff at the EPU there are really lovely - I have been there many times over the years and they really couldn't be nicer

Loubie37 · 12/07/2006 07:30

Oh dear, I feel very guilty now.....there was a live frog in the dining room (which is where the PC is!) so I went rushing upsrairs to ask DH to catch it - I was in such a state he thought something had happened baby wise and gave me a right telling off! It doesn't help that he's been on nights and didn't get to bed until 4am.........oops!

Rightio the shower beckons, will catch up with you all later
Loubie xx

Loubie37 · 12/07/2006 07:31

Oops, nearly forgot, good luck LTH, I'm sure everything will be fine ((((hugs))))

Morning all!! Have been thinking of you Lth, hope all has gone ok. Glad everyone else seems ok. Well, my GP called back and asked me 20 questions. Agreed that dd must have toncillitus, and left a prescription at the doc's reception for penicillin. Dh wasn't very happy about that though, and I can kind of see his point, that really she is only 5yrs old and should be seen to confirm that there is nothing seriously wrong or that she really needs the medicine...I must say though that I believe in a mothers intuition, and I just know that this is the right thing, and I am not into pumping her with antibiotics unless I have to. She seems brighter today though, so all is ok. Thanks for all your thoughts.x.

Magnolia- I have mentioned this before, but I have been suffering period pains since day zero. It's a horrible feeling, and nobody seems to have an explanation for the reason behind it!?! They all say that it's stretching pains...and I am hoping that they are right. Feels strange though, makes me keep going to the toilet to check I havn't come on even though I have had a scan and seen the baby!!

Catch up again later.x.
Jess

Good luck LTH - let us know how you get on.

Loubie - my current favourtie girls name is Tallulah and would be Lula for short - boys names we are hopeless on and can never agree!

Dragonhart · 12/07/2006 12:32

Hope all is ok LTH. xx

Loubie, thanks, have stolen your idea and put my scan pic on my phone. Might try and put it on the computer!! Mind you I am supposed to be packing as we are going to spend a few days with my MIL and FIL at the seaside til sunday. Supposed to be leaving as soon as dh gets back from work but some hope!!! So much to pack even for a few days!

Becks, hope your dad is ok. xx

Dragonhart · 12/07/2006 12:37

Jess - Glad you got the medicine sorted. Surprised he was allowed to do that, write a prescription without seening patient. Suppose he was just trying to help but you would think he could have bothered himself to pop round, even on the way home! GPs seem to go on about how hard they have to work for very little pay, but you should see the line up of BMWs and merc outside our doctors! Sorry, very little sympathy!

magnolia1 · 12/07/2006 14:03

LTH: Hope everything is ok hun????

Hattie2 · 12/07/2006 14:16

LTH - fingers crossed for you xx

Hope everyone else is feeling OK today.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/07/2006 14:32

Hi girls.

After another 2 hours wait at the EPU (but with ds1,2 and 3 this time as Dh was at work, being there at 8am meant they had to come with me) all is fine in the LTH pregnancy stakes.

They couldn't see why I've been bleeding on the scan but the examination yesterday did show a polypy thing.
I was scanned with some fancy scan machine that showed super fine details. Really quite freaky actually. They couldn't get a good photo for me as the placenta was in the way and the baby was moving all over the place.

So I'm joining the club of myserty bleeding. They couldn't whether it was a one off or not but said if I have any worries to call and come straight back, and not to bother going through the doc for a referral.

Now I'll just moan now about the bloody weather again....ITS TOO HOT!!

magnolia1 · 12/07/2006 14:35

Oh hun sooooo pleased everything is ok with baby xxxxxx

And stop whining about the weather!!

poppypoppy · 12/07/2006 14:47

That's great news Ladytophamhatt. What a relief. I came on here last night to see if you were online so that I could bombard you with qu;s about Seaford and then read your post. So glad everything is ok with baby.

I asked you some qu's on my post about moving to Brighton under "other subjects" a couple of days ago. If you get a chance and you don't mind maybe you could have a look?

Take care of yourself and little'un

ELM · 12/07/2006 16:02

That's great news LTH.

I agree, it's way too hot. I'm sure it makes me sicker and more tired.... just the thought of a 45 minute drive home in a car without aircon has sweating. Yuck.

jessddibs · 12/07/2006 17:23

So pleased for you Lth. And I must say, that I am with you on the weather front. It is TO HOT!!!
Had a dvd'athon with my poorly daugther today. I must say it's lovley having a girl because she loves to watch chick flicks! lol! We watched the princess diaries 1 and 2! and grease! Fantastic! The ONLY plus point about dd being off school is the casual nodding off ALL DAY on the sofa and not feeling guilty about it! My little girl needed me...( well she would quite happily have watched them while i did the ironing, but not gonna tell dh that )

I have even texted dh to ask if he can get a take-away on his way home....well may as well finish off a perfect lazy day perfectly...they don't happen very often..guilt free..

Please don't think badly of me...

Jess.x.x

Loubie37 · 12/07/2006 17:33

LTH - fab news, really pleased for you!

jessddibs - I don't blame you - make the most of it while it lasts!!

It's too hot today - I'm off for a lie down while DH cooks tea

Loubie xx

Hi all, haven't been on for a while as things have been a bit scary on the pregnancy front

LTH glad all is OK. It sounds just like what I've been having (4 times now!) and scans keep showing baby is fine. Glad everyone else is OK too.

I've also been having cramps sometimes with the bleeds and they feel pretty convincing (i.e. worse than usual period pain). Consultant told me it's just one of those things and to try not to worry. This was just after my scan while I was still cramping after a bleed! It just shows how bad it can seem but then still be OK. It's certainly keeping me guessing!

MerlinsBeard · 12/07/2006 19:22

LTH, am glad everything is ok with ur baby, my heart sank when i saw you had had a bleed

I think the next thread title should be...due Jan 2007.....now can we stop worrying ?!

Such a worrying thread, are all antenatal threads like this? or just a particularly stressful one this?

LadyTophamHatt · 12/07/2006 19:54

thanks for all the kinds thoughts girls

MoM, I bet they're all like this, at least i hope they are!!

How are you feeling now?

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 12/07/2006 20:02

doing ok, thanks for asking.
still having a keeping busy kind of week but i get that from time to time anyway.

Thank you for asking

KerryJ · 12/07/2006 20:15

LTH, glad things are okay .

Just a very quick update on the nuchal scan I had yesterday. Consultant measured spud and made me exactly 13 weeks (which fits spot on with what I thought). So just goes to show that you can't always trust the NHS sonographers (particularly super-speedy ones like the one I had) to measure correctly - she was a whole centimeter out on the CRL!! Pees me off a bit, actually, as that extra week could make all the difference at the end.

Jessdibs - dvd'athon sounds like heaven. Can't wait til my ds2 sits still and pays attention to the tv for a while without getting distracted . He's only 15 months, so I may have a while to wait!

Hope everyone and bumps are well.

Kerry x

LTH great news your 3 boys sound better behaved than my DD when we went for scan last week DH had to take her home after scan as she was playing up so much whilst I waited for m/w & consultant and then had to bus home.

Drs phoned me today wasn't expecting them to so panicked when they showed on caller display receptionist said midwife been trying to et hold of me since monday afternoon (why didnt she leave a message on my home/mobile and i could have called back!!)Apparently the wee sample I gave the hospital last week has come back showing infection (why this has taken so long to let me know I dont know) apparently this will explain the dull ache in my lower back and the spotting as light brown/dark yellow discharge indicates infection, glad to see the Dr recognised the symptons when I spoke to them yesterday (not!!) and he couldnt have looked at my notes as the test results have been on there since monday aaargh they are driving me mad. Anyway now got to do a morning wee sample and drop it into surgery tomorrow they will send off for urgent test and then prescribed me some mild antibiotics although all of that will probably take to the
middle of next week to sort out at least it explains what has been happening.
Hope everyone else is ok xx

Nemo1977 · 12/07/2006 20:49

hi all
LTH sorry about your dramas but glad all is ok.

Elli..same here over sample but not been told what has shown up in it which is worrying me sick just that they need to retest a sample..all this by letter on monday.

Not been at all well so not been on..had really bad viral bug which lead to a lot of D+V so thought was losing the baby with the pains. Luckily found baby on doppler but heartbeat was extremely fast. Took to my bed for 3 days as I was that bad..well I say bed that and the loo must have looked lovely to dh when sat on loo holding ds potty to chuck up into...bleugh TMI

ELM · 13/07/2006 10:13

Hi everyone..((hugs)) to everyone who is having a difficult time at the moment..
Nemo really sorry to hear you have been feeling so poorly, hope you are feeling better now? Apart from the letter from the drs...when do you have to retest?
EllieP your dr sounds like a complete nightmare!! i hope the antibiotics make you feel better, and am really sorry you have to wait until next week for the results, that seems like an awfully long time.
Fliberty sorry to hear that things haven't being going well, but really glad that the scan showed things were ok

xx

I've just had a lovely surprise one of my friends came round this morning so her daughter (our goddaughter) could play with DD, she bought a mclaren side by side twin buggy a year ago for her DS & DD and 3 months later her DS decided he "didnt do buggies (he was 3 at the time!) anyway I know lots of people have asked her if she was selling itand shes always said no I'll keep it for an emergency anyway this morning she says she has a present for me and gives me the buggy with all the footmuffscover etc and says she has been keeping it for when I got pregnant again as I was always saying how much I liked it!! I can't beleive how generous they have been she wouldn't take any money for it and banned me from buying her kids any presents to say thankyou. We were looking to get one as DD will be 2.4 when baby born and on the whole will walk but as its winter she'll like to be cosy in a pushchair so shes saved me nearly £200 so I've decide d I'm going to get her a huge bunch of flowers to say thanks. We were going to ask her and her DH to be godparents to this baby before this (her DH is one of my DD godfathers)but I got so overwhelmed this morning Iasked her there and then!! (she said yes on belhalf of DH)

Today has made me realise how special and thougtful friends can be.
