Hooo-Rah!! 2nd trimester is just around the corner

Good news! My scan was all ok, the baby was actually waving at us and grabbing it's feet! We got a really great picture, feel so much happier now and it's reasuring that I am not the only one with perod like pains. Mw said that it is just stretching pains. The next problem now is when to tell our 5yr old dd?!?! Any advice?!

Been ages since I've been on! Working from home is great, but when it gets really busy means I don't get the chance to indulge my internet habit

Great news about the scan, Jess. Definitely show her the scan pic, that'd be a lovely way of telling her. I've got my dating scan at 4pm - dreading it even though I know there's a baby in there thanks to my trusty doppler. ds1 and ds2 are going to have to come as it's after school. Thankfully my mum is accompanying us as dh couldn't get the time off work. Will pop on later and let you know how it went.

Hope everyone is well. Will try to stay in touch more frequently when my workload eases a bit!!

Hello to everyone, haven't posted in ages!

Great news about the scan Jessddibs! I've got mine tonight at 7pm, and am really nervous. Had a dream last night that they told me I had been imagining it all, and it was just wind...wonder what's causing the morning sickness then!

KerryJ I hope your scan goes well today too...I'm off to join the boots club...should be working but too excited/nervous/petrified to concentrate...

Hi everyone, glad the scans etc have all gone well for everyone

JessDibbs, we haven't told our 5 yr old yet.... planning on telling her in 2 weeks time (I'll be 17 weeks then) coz we have a couple of family birthdays coming up (DH's family) & one of these is a big one, so don't want to steal anyone's thunder.... and obviously DD will just blurt it out if we tell her now! I'm also struggling to fit into the next dress size up now, so don't think I'll be able to hide it from immediate family for much longer . I weighed myself last week & I've put on nearly 1/2 stone already.... ouch!

Kerry and ELM hope scans went ok (ELM you are prob i there now!)

Mine is tomorrow at 3pm and I feel soooo nervous about it. Really begining to wish I had hired that doppler afew weeks ago so at least I would have some reasurance. Have to take ds with us as my mum is working so really hoping for no bd news. I was sure that I was not this nervous last time but dh says I was. Guess I just blocked it out!!

Really love the idea of a t shirt with big brother on it babyonboard so may nick that one!!

My scan was good, baby looks fine but does measure 6 days bigger than the dates I KNOW it was conceived so they've changed my edd from 16th to 10th Jan!!! Not really a problem, but as I'm desperate for another homebirth this time, could be an issue if I go overdue.

Has anyone else experienced this - could the baby not just be big? (I know when I ovulated and the days we bd'd, so it would be simply impossible for me to be as far along as they think I am). Confused!!!

Have my nuchal scan this morning. According to my dates, I am 13 weeks today - according to theirs, I'm 13+6 (the last possible day for an accurate NT scan, apparently). The guy I'm seeing is a Gynae / Obs consultant (v. experienced...Ulrika Johnnson mentions him in her autobiography, apparently ) so it'll be interesting to hear what he says.

Morning! Scan went really well, Nuchal results are 1:13019 and due date put back by 3 days, so am now due 23/01/07 which makes me 12 weeks today!

Hi everyone can I creep back on after being away for two weeks ? Had a fab holiday but hard work chasing a two year old round when im pregnant. You shall all have to fill me in on whats been happening hope everyones news is good and all those scans were ok, im about 14 weeks now and am still panacking something is wrong even though everything was fine at my 12 scan, I keep expecting baby to move but I cant feel nothing yet. Anyway nice to be back keep me updated xxxx

I woke up this morning with light watery spotting. Just been to the toilet and theres definatley red blood there now.

LTH I have the same mie was yetserday went to the loo brown spotting wiped and there was pink colour stopped for a bit then started again last night then stopped again no pain bit of a ild ache but had that for ages spoke to my DR and he said no pain and only abit of pink doesnt mean much so not to worry and ring again if gets heavier (he meant that I had to put a pad on and it needed to be changed within 3 hours!!)I havent had to put a pad on and I'm 13+1 so hopeully its good that we have the same thing! Let us know what m/w says

I'm just back from the hospital. MW clled me back and I explained all the stuff. She told me to call the hosp, I called the told me to come staright in

After a2 hour wait I was examined (like a smear) and there was more blood. Doc said my cervix has polyps on it but he wants me to have aanother scan to check the baby is ok in there.
No scans available today so have to go to the EPU at 8am tomorrow.

why is this happening now? at 14 weeks? I've been having some pains too. Nothing awful, I'd just put it down to stretching and stuff so now this has happened it's sent me in to anxiety oblivion again....

Lth try and stay calm I know its easier said then done but worrying isnt going to help, im sure all will be fine xxxxx

Lth- What a nightmare for you.x. All you can do is rest as much as phyically possible. I find reading a book the best way to try and distract my mind and make me sleepy. I am sure all will be fine. Will be thinking of you tommorrow.x.

Well, I have had a fun day today. Had to pick dd up from school unwell. She came home and slept for 4 hours so I knew something was wrong! Checked her over when she woke and her throat is all yellow and white and her breath is stinking, big time. Called the doctor and they 'havn't any appointments' and said 'try again tomorrow'. I went mental!!!! Those pregnancy hormones are good for something! So now I am waiting for a doctor to phone me back...The annoying thing is, is that I know it's tonsillitus (poor spelling!) and that she needs medicine, so whats the point of the doc 'calling' me!!!! Sorry everyone! Really needed that rant!

LTH & EPM try not to worry too much...as you know I've had unexplained bleeding since being 5 weeks pg, it's still here and baby was fine at my scan last Thursday. Bleeding in pregnancy is so common, and at least they've found a reason for it (LTH) which should put your mind at rest a teeny bit? It's not nice though, I've laid awake countless hours at night worrying and willing my baby to be OK. Big hugs to both of you x

MOM good to hear from you again. Thanks for asking about the scan. Went well. Very relieved there was only one and really glad that they have put my date forward a bit so that I am 14wks tom, due on the 13th Jan so it is a bit further away from christmas. Our baby was jumping about like crazy and it took the sonographer a while to get the measurement for the head. It was kicking me and I could not feel it, very strange! Got a good pic though.

Has anyone thought of names yet?

I know it's early days but we've already got a couple of names we like....

For a girl, either Imogen Maire (pronounced Mary and it has an accent on the a!) or Isobel Maire

and for a boy, Jacob or Ben, middle names William Matthew (runs in DH's side of the family, technically if we have a boy it should be called William Matthew but I've put my foot down and insisted on choosing our own name ;))

Just wondered if anyone else had any names yet?

Dragonhart - glad your scan went well I can't stop looking at our photo, I've got it as my screen saver on my mobile and give it a kiss every night before I go to sleep....how sad is that??!!
