Just got my ebay bargain isabella oliver dress through the post. Oh dear - lovely dress but packed (in plastic) whilst damp from the wash. Still damp and smells very strongly of tramps which has made me sick a bit in my mouth. Also one of those wrap cardigans which has about 40ft long wrap bits and is extremely funny to try and put on, involving lots of high stepping out of leg tangles, but looks great!

HarlemWobble · 08/08/2013 13:30

Bare I'm desperate to feel flutterings too! Probably a bit early for me being 12+2 and my first, but I can't wait!

Found out at the scan yesterday that I have an anterior placenta so I think that means I may have to wait even longer to feel any movement. Has anyone else had this in a previous pregnancy?

bugsyburge · 08/08/2013 13:49

eeek I've started telling people now, including work.... all starting to feel real now.... IIRC there are quite a few on this thread with anterior placentas but I can't remember names!!!!

tinypolkadot · 08/08/2013 14:09

i came to work today to be greeted with two bags of maternity clothes from my colleague! So lovely, I've been very lucky with people giving me clothes so far

I'm convinced I've felt flutterings, they have been like popping, bubbly feelings like nothing I've ever felt before!

I've also noticed the start of that line from my pubic bone to my belly button...

I've got an appointment tomorrow with the dermatologist for my nipple eczema (sorry if tmi) I've had this damn thing for months. I was sent to the breast clinic before I got my bfp and was worried sick, and was given the all clear. I'm not sure what the dermatologist can do or give me because I'm pregnant, but hopefully I'll come away with some tips and itchiness coping strategies.

I feel like I know my local hospital intimately at the moment, they sure are making plenty of money from me for car parking!

Gosh I am so jealous of the ladies feeling horny - I am totally the opposite and starting to feel quite sorry for DH! Started to feel loads better symptom wise a couple of weeks ago but for the last week I seem to be feeling dodgy again. I'm hoping its because we've been busy (Pil up and away on holiday for a few nights) so I'm hooky if I just rest lots for a few days I'm back to feeling good. Luckily I am managing to eat. All the time! Deffo looking pregnant now but part of me things a great deal if it could be a food baby making up lots of the bump. I've taken to wearing maternity tops and walking about rubbing my belly so I look like I am pregnant! Definitely need to order some work trousers for when Im back in sept!

Glad lots of the scans have gone well Grin gosh soon well be at the 20 week ones and will be finding out what were having (those of us who are wanting to know!). I can't wait to start buying baby things - not got anything yet, partly as don't wanna jinx things and also I don't like neutrals so haven't seen anything I really like that isn't an obvious gender yet. DH wants to wait until after the 20 week scan too so hopefully after that we can have a mini spree Grin

misskatamari · 08/08/2013 14:21

Awww tiny that is fab about the clothes - how lovely! My god nipple eczema sounds horrendous! I've had itching and flaking on one of mine and its been bad enough! You poor thing! Good luck getting something to help ease it.

tinypolkadot · 08/08/2013 14:33

Thanks misskatamari it was mainly just itchy and flaky around the edge of one of them. luckily the worst of it went with steroid cream before I got my bfp, but there's just a little discolouration left around the edge and it can itch from time to time. I've been keeping it well moisturised which eases it!

I made the mistake of googling pictures, ew! Definitely looks normal compared to some of them!!

I'm also jealous of those feeling horny. We dtd on Sunday for the first time in 2 months! I was feeling v sorry for dh, he's been so patient and understanding.

misskatamari · 08/08/2013 14:39

Lol - I should try and make an effort. We've had our wedding anniversary and been on holiday and still no bedroom activity - I wonder what the 40s advice would say about such things! I've found cocoa butter helps with the nipple itching thank god! It's not like you can stand around scratching it willy nilly is it!

tinypolkadot · 08/08/2013 14:46

Lol no, there is nothing worse than trying to surreptitiously itch your nipple! Grin

We had our 1st wedding anniversary when I was about 6 weeks, we tried to dtd but I ended up crying my eyes out because I was scared it would disrupt the bean and implantation (we were abroad at the time). Dh was bewildered, so I had to explain about my hormones and that he should expect waves of tears at any moment!

EeyoreIsh · 08/08/2013 14:49

I was really quite horny last week, but after my bleed the midwives have said no sex Sad and DH is scared of hurting me.

Timpani · 08/08/2013 14:58

I am a bit up for it too!

DTD this morning and thought my waters had broken after as there was copious amounts of leakage... Am sure it was just ahem residual...

I have also burst into years after DTD but I don't know why?! It was bizarre.

I noticed my linea nigra at about 16 w last time. It hasn't been done long. My nips have done dark already!! I expect them to go much darker as they were choc brown post birth last time!

Ouch to nip eczema!

misskatamari · 08/08/2013 15:42

I think mine are starting to get darker, haven't noticed the belly line yet - does everyone get it?
What is weird tho - and I've only just noticed when I took my bra off to get in the bath is that my boobs are BOILING! It's like crazy heat is just emanating from them! They're probably busy growing even bloody bigger!

Pregnancy is so odd - it's like a new daily surprise of something weird your body does!

tinypolkadot · 08/08/2013 15:53

It think I read that 90% of women get the line? Mine isn't that noticeable, it's quite faint at the minute and I only noticed it when looking in the mirror, it's still quite low down.

I've not noticed hot boobs, but I'm quite hot in general (and not in the good way!). My boobs are growing to quite comedic proportions, they do not feel sexy or attractive!

sunflowered · 08/08/2013 16:20

My nipples are going darker but not in a uniform way - I look ridiculous! But easy to live with compared to how I'll look in a few months time I suspect, and it reassures me there's something going on so can't complain.

Still haven't got my 12 week scan date (12+1 today...) due to midwife booking my first attempt too early. After 50+ attempts to call the ultrasound dept (seriously - 50 phone calls before someone even picked up Angry ) have been told there's a backlog and I might not get scanned until 14+3 'if they can squeeze me in', like I'm just an incovenience Sad

Have worked in the nhs for seven years but never seen it from the patient side before. Hope I can use the frustrated energy I'm building up to churn it back into making just one thing work a bit less inefficiently when I'm back...

vix206 · 08/08/2013 16:20

I didn't get the line with DS, and no sign of it this time either. It's strange as I do get pigmentation marks on my forehead and cheeks.

I've been feeling movement since 12 weeks, now at 16 weeks its strong enough that DH can feel it from the outside SmileSmile

misskatamari · 08/08/2013 16:26

Sunflowered that is so annoying about your scan. I really hope they can fit you in soon!

Wow Vix that must be awesome feeling movement already! I'm 14+5 and occasionally think I may have felt something but its not anything i can put my finger on. Really looking forward to knowing for sure and feeling some proper movement.

I'm tempted to get a Doppler after hearing some of you ladies mention how good they are - might speak to DH about it as he might be against it incase it causes worry if we can't find anything sometimes.

Signed up to NCT today and have emailed my local hypnobirthing course too - really hope they have spaces available!

EeyoreIsh · 08/08/2013 16:38

I'm so tired and nauseous again this afternoon :( it's own fault for getting too tired yesterday and not eating lunch until really late, but it sucks Sad

I have to pop out to the doctors to pick up a prescription, pack for holidays and do some work but I'm so shattered and pukey I just want to snooze.

I'm a big pile of woe!

vix206 · 08/08/2013 16:46

Misskatamari I didn't feel any movement at all with DS until 16-17 weeks I think... It is very early still but definite wriggles, pokes and kicks! Just wish DS would stop jumping on me Shock he keeps bashing my tummy!

littlestgirlguide · 08/08/2013 18:17

No movement here, but only 13+2 so not expecting anything for a couple more weeks, As I first felt movement at 16 weeks with my first baby. Looking forward to it though, it's fab :-)
Straight into my new maternity jeans when I got home from work today and they're sooooo comfy, under the bump, 36" skinny ones from new look. And they fit!!! happy face

Bearfrills · 08/08/2013 18:20

DS used to do that when I was pregnant with DD, vix. I was paranoid he would hurt her but she's fine (and she gets her revenge on him now with the occasional jump of her own!). This time around DS is very gentle of my tummy, not that there's much there yet in the way of a bump, but he's very loving towards it (sounds weird, I know) and talks to it and little DD copies whatever he does so she is too. They both kiss it goodnight when they go to bed :o

Got my scan tomorrow afternoon, so very excited!

HarlemWobble · 08/08/2013 18:30

Glad the new look jeans fit Littlest. I definitely need to order some. How is the sizing? I'm tempted to order in 2 sizes incase me fitting in the 12 is too optimisitic! Grin

pettyprudence · 08/08/2013 18:41

Harlem I had an anterior placenta with ds - other than him hiding behind it so I coulnd't feel any movement it didn't present any issues. It can make baby more likely to be back to back during labour (which ds was but he turned in the last hour and came out fine)

My bff gave me ALL her maternity clothes today as she has had her second, and last baby! They are soooo comfortable and make my bloat look like a bump! I am very chuffed though as I thought as they are all size 10/12 and fit me fine (with room for my arse to grow as well as bump). I have ordered some jeans from jojo clearance though (£7) - the reviews said that they fall down as they are under bump but I thought I would sew them to a bump band to keep them up.

Horniness - I'm about the same as usual, maybe a smidge less or more at times but the last week or 2 dh seems to have become extra horny. I'm hoping its due to my changing shape (ok not radically different!)

I didn't have a line last time.

Feeling v tired and still nauseaus. I think my blood sugar levels keep dropping and its leaving me shaking, sick, sweating, until I eat something. It comes on very suddenly. I am assuming that's the cause? Think I need to watch what I eat more closely now.

Vix my ds has also taken to hurling himself, at full force, across my abdomen. Spose bean will just have to get used to it from an early age Grin

littlestgirlguide · 08/08/2013 19:18

Harlem I ordered a 14 and they're fine. I would normally buy a size 12 in Long Tall Sally or Next or MandS Or Monsoon, and a 14 in cheaper shops like New Look if that helps!

SugarMiceInTheRain · 08/08/2013 19:58

Urgh, feel awful today. Had appointment with MW - she won't see me again til 25 weeks - that seems like a lifetime away! In fairness, today's appointment shouldn't have taken place til I'm about 16 weeks and I'm only 11+6. I have to arrange a glucose tolerance test at 24 weeks (apparently because I have polycystic ovaries I'm more susceptible to gestational diabetes) and come November/December I need to get the flu jab so I'm told. So much has apparently changed since I was pregnant with DS2 6 years ago!

The boys are so excited about their baby brother or sister. DS2 in particular is desperate to buy him/her toys, babygros, anything!! He calls it 'our baby' and keeps watching my tummy closely and stroking it in case he can feel some movement (even though I've explained he won't feel anything for weeks yet!)
