Welcome pourmeanother Smile

Glad the bath helped marzipanned. Some days I've been in for about 3 hours as its so comforting! It's crap when people are like "oh aren't you feeling better? It's after twelve weeks!" Yes I know it bloody is! Thanks! Now piss off and let me lie down and feel sorry for myself!

Liking the idea of a straightforward birth tho Lovestobake! Surely that just be the reward at the end! Grin

LovesToBake · 15/08/2013 14:53

Thanks for the bath tip ladies, I'm supposed to be going over to a friend's tonight but already thinking I may have to bail as I just can't function in the evenings. Perhaps a bath instead - thought about it last night but literally couldn't be bothered with the effort of putting the plug in and turning the taps on, how lame is that?! I remember loving baths when I was a bit bigger in my last pregnancy, I used to just lie back and watch my bump put on a show of wriggles and pokes that you could see through the skin. Then I found the water birth really worked for me so I reckon if you find baths comforting in pregnancy, you should defo consider a water birth!

misskatamari · 15/08/2013 15:09

That's what I'm hoping Lovestobake! I adore baths - in winter time I frequently get home, do tea, have a 3 hour bath and then go to bed! Gosh I am so rock n roll! Really love the idea of a water birth as I just find it so comforting being in the warm water! The people who had our house before us actually insulated ours with loft insulation between the bath and the outside panel so it stays so warm - amazing! I know what you mean about the effort if running it! DH frequently gets a pathetic "please can you run me a bath...." Usually happy to oblige as ill bugger off for ages and he can play a game! I want one now but have to wait for someone to come and change the gas meter Hmm

Milkandtwo · 15/08/2013 15:29

I'm with you ladies on the baths. I watch telly in the bath, eat my tea in the bath, read etc etc. Can stay in there for hours. As I work from home it's often what I do for a lunch hour too!

Timpani · 15/08/2013 15:31

I spent most of my second stage in the bath at the hospital's birthing centre. It was amazing! Got out and had him though! Will be asking for a water birth this time for sure! I wanted one last time but once we were there and in the room I couldn't be bothered to move!

Middy75 · 15/08/2013 16:16

Thanks mrscookie hope your wait goes quickly, this pregnancy lark seems to be one big waiting game for one thing or another!
I've decided Mothercare bras must be very small compared to normal, the beasts can't have grown again!! Blush

sunflowered · 15/08/2013 17:19

I would love a water birth but our nearest hospital only has a consultant led unit, with just 2 pools which I'm told are in high demand which made me think I'm v unlikely to get one. But I've just read that they've this month converted some of the rooms to a more natural birth environment (even taken out the hospital beds - I bet the docs are a bit Shock at all this new fangled stuff on their unit!) and bought portable birth pools to help meet demand - I'm feeling much more relaxed about the whole thing just knowing that.

LittlePandaBear · 15/08/2013 20:04

Hi girls,

If you're after some nicer maternity/nursing lingerie than the range in Mothercare, check out:

shop.hotmilklingerie.com/

I have a few of their nursing bras from last time that I've started to wear again. They're the prettiest nursing bras I've found, I still prefer underwired for support but I wanted some soft cup ones too. There are about 7 rows of hooks on the back strap too so you can ease it out or in as you change size!

Love the breastfeeding-in-the-supermarket pose on the home page Grin

LittlePandaBear · 15/08/2013 20:04

I'll do that link again...

Hot Milk

LittlePandaBear · 15/08/2013 20:10

Ooooh, just clicked on the Milk Man link! Blush

DawnOfTheDee · 15/08/2013 20:19

marzipanned I love Hazel and Clementine! They are exactly the sort of name I like. One of my best friends is called Hazel though so that's not being seriously considered. And DH has poo poo-ed Clementine.....I shall definitely have another go to get Clemmie on the list though!

Welcome pourmeanother! Good to have you here....there's a stats thread somewhere if you want to add yourself. I'll try and find it and do a link.

laura0007 · 15/08/2013 20:21

Ooh littlepanda! That's a bit more than my eyes can take BlushWink I wonder where I can find that male model!

212VIP · 15/08/2013 20:32

OH MY GOD!! Thank you littlepandabear
A bra shop selling nursing bras ABOVE a D cup!!
I'm sooooooo happy!!!

Milkandtwo · 15/08/2013 20:32

Does anyone else think hot milk is a really gross name for maternity underwear?

212VIP · 15/08/2013 20:34

Agreed milk. Awful name!

Milkandtwo · 15/08/2013 20:35

...but they do nice looking bras for my G cup beasts so I'll forgive 'em. Thanks littlepanda!

LittlePandaBear · 15/08/2013 20:39

Pleased to be of service. I like the look of the sleepwear too. Although prefer the sale prices.

And yes HotMilk is an odd name - I think the company may be Australian (not sure that explains it...)

littlestgirlguide · 15/08/2013 20:58

Hot would be the state of my credit card if I shopped in that website, I'm going to stick to soft cups from marks, because I can afford them without a second mortgage :-( they are beautiful though!

littlestgirlguide · 15/08/2013 21:03

Anyone shopping for a preloved pram might want to look at quinnys bugaboos icandys 4u on Facebook, some bargain packages on there.

Holly94 · 15/08/2013 21:14

Can I join this one too? Baby due on 30th January but I've heard first babies can be notoriously late so won't be holding my breath for a January baby!

Milkandtwo · 15/08/2013 21:15

Welcome Holly94, make yourself comfy.

Littleen · 15/08/2013 21:16

Awww I'm so frustrated. Got lots of gorgeous names for boys and girls, but the one I absolutely adore is Amelia - which is soooo popular. Always wanted a special name, but it's my favourite, and apparantly many others fave too! Would probably spell it Amilia for pronounciation (live in Norway atm) but well.. I was one of 3 Ida's in my class, and it was so boring being reduced to Ida number 1, 2 and 3 - don't wish that on my little one!

Milkandtwo · 15/08/2013 22:31

Bored and having a pootle about on MN and come across this thread:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1817547-Does-anyone-remember-this-spooky-experience-told-on-MN#thread
...if anyone else likes spooky stories.
Only about 10 posts in and utterly freaked out. I just saw, out the corner of my eye, the fan in the corner of the room that's been there all summer and nearly had the baby
Still compulsively reading though... I love/hate being scared so much, it's very odd!
