Hi all! Providing the ladies who are currently in hospital don't give birth before the last 20 posts in our old thread, we've made it to a new one with babies all still staying put for now!

Here's the stats thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the FB group (better for sharing documents and pictures), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Grin at DTD to try and get things going. I've been the same, can think of worse things to do Wink

Nothing new to report here today, but I have had some more period pains and in my back like when I'm on

badguider · 26/08/2013 21:11

xposted with fb but can everybody please send 'stay put' vibes to my wee one for tonight and tomorrow morning, then 'head downwards' vibes for the scan tomorrow afternoon.

After him being head-down for weeks and 1/5 engaged last week, MW now can't tell which way he's lying so I have a scan tomorrow pm and must not go into labour before then...

sooo impatient to know the outcome - he's moving around but i just cannot tell which bit of him is which Confused

flipflump · 26/08/2013 21:15

Badguider, crossing fingers for you. Midwife said I was breech too, scan showed clever baby was head down and engaged. Hoping you get the same outcome. Enjoy your scan all the same, last time you'll see your boy on the inside Grin

Will you try an ECV?

badguider · 26/08/2013 21:26

If has flipped in the last week then I probably would go for ECV as it shows he's got the space and fluid to move.

If they suspect he's been breech all along then maybe not... don't know.. it'll be a more difficult decision.

CharlW1 · 26/08/2013 22:01

Lots of positive vibes needed - I'm being induced tomorrow morning and whilst excited about meeting my baby girl, I am bricking it as well! Currently Speed reading Juju Sundin's birth skills.

Manoodledo · 26/08/2013 22:19

Sending those vibes over... It surprises me that it wouldn't be easier to tell head from bum. Good luck CharW1. I'm very much hoping to go into labour before Thursday just because I'm having a growth scan as I'm measuring small and I don't want them to get any ideas about induction if possible. Have had an upset stomach all day and was hoping it might be a sign of early labour, but as yet nothing else.

frogchops · 26/08/2013 22:44

Sending a combination of stay put/flippy vibes!
Bought my first batch if raspberry leaf tea today ....haven't tried it yet but the woman in the shop said its vile. Great!
Also bought some floradix so thanks to whoever recommended them. Anyone know if I can take them alongside spatone? Woman in shop was very worried it would be a bad idea...?

flipflump · 26/08/2013 23:02

Good luck Charl!!!! Looking forward to more wonderful baby news. No more GD worries after tomorrow Grin how many weeks are you? I'm hoping to get my induction date on Weds at clinic but I have little faith in my consultant!!!

jennimoo · 27/08/2013 01:36

Sorry, ive not read everyone's updates yet: I had a baby! Phew, was beginning to think he was never going to commit to arriving! Now waiting to see if they recommend staying or if we can just head off home. He's fast asleep and I'd love to be in my bed doing exactly the same!

CheeseStrawCraving · 27/08/2013 02:38

Yay! Massive congratulations Jenni, well deserved I'd say! Lots of love to you all Flowers

Derpess · 27/08/2013 03:08

That's fantastic Jenni! Congratulations and I hope you get to go home soon xx

jennimoo · 27/08/2013 03:09

Quite one: ladies who are taking spatone, where's a good place to get it? Don't want to trapse around too many shops tomorrow / today even!

jennimoo · 27/08/2013 03:10

Quick even!

RunningBear78 · 27/08/2013 04:13

Hooray congratulations jenni I hope things went quickly and smoothly when the time finally came!

Good luck for tomorrow char and badguider hope you can locate yr babys head! I can't believe a mw can loose it!? Hope he is just hiding.

frog no reason why you shouldn't take floradix and spatone, but floradix is concentrated so you should only need a teaspoon or two/three a day. jenni you can get spatone in boots and superdrug, the ones near me are tiny shops and they both sell it.

Sleep well everyone-ooh any mummys up with new babies feeding!?

CheeseStrawCraving · 27/08/2013 05:16

Me running! He's beautiful but am so tired! I almost miss the (what I thought were) frequent loo visits being pg now I've realised quie how often he's up!!

Anyone got any advice for making sore boobs bearable? He's latching fine I just don't think my poor nips were quite ready for so much action... Ouchy

Readytosettle · 27/08/2013 05:20

I'm up, but not feeding :-( just waiting for the baby to stop dancing around...

RunningBear78 · 27/08/2013 05:23

Morning cheesestraw! Oh dear ...so the tales of sleeplessness begin Sad

No advice about the nipples, I know we were given lots at antenatal classes last week, I just can't remember any of it! Try the breastfeeding threads, or have you local support groups who can advise? I have heard they take a couple of days to toughen up' but make sure it is a good latch and the nipple isn't rubbing on his hard palette... That is all I can remember! Enjoy ur cuddles :)

Readytosettle · 27/08/2013 05:25

Ooh, this won't help u now I'm afraid cheese but for those who haven't yet had their babies....I was at a party this weekend and a breastfeeding mum told me the best advice she had was to start applying nipple cream 2 weeks before the baby is due/expected as it prepares them for all the action. Apparently on the MAM tubes it actually advises this anyway, but she hasn't had any nipple pain at all.

LotsaTuddles · 27/08/2013 05:51

Wish I was up with a new born. DH needs that much effort to get up in the mornings, we both have to wake up so that he doesn't just go back to sleep.

I've got a growth scan at some point this week too (waiting for it to come through) why would they induce if they thought baby was small [manoo]?

LotsaTuddles · 27/08/2013 05:54

manoo even.

It's early and I'm tired (constant seeing last night).

SGJ · 27/08/2013 06:45

Cheese, have you got any Lansinoh? It's the king of nipple creams and well worth it's £9.99 price tag!!

kimjayne · 27/08/2013 09:06

Okay, getting bored of pregnancy now. It's my 4th week of maternity leave and still no sign of baby :( starting to wish I'd stuck it out a little longer at wrk. Feeling a bit like Ive wasted a month of mat leave already. And if this boy turns up late, then I could be off for another 2weeks yet!
My left hip is killing me from lying on one side every night! My feet are the size of small watermelons and I'm knackered from broken sleep.
I see all the gorgeous baby pics on facebook and it cheers me up knowing our little man will be here soon. But I must admit I'm getting a bit fed up now.

Manoodledo · 27/08/2013 09:28

Congrats to Jenni! Slightly jealous. Poor DH was really hoping I was going to have the baby last night as he wanted to get out of something boring at work today. Disappointed I couldn't oblige, especially as I'd gone off to bed feeling oddly excited and mildly unwell and after some unusual (for me!) late night cleaning. I'm getting really fed up of this now. DH labelled me a sex pest this morning when I woke him up to DTD in the hope it might help things along.

Lotsa, I think the reason I've got it in my head that they might want to induce me because I'm measuring small is because it's what happened to my SIL. They said she had hardly any amniotic fluid and that the baby had stopped growing. I do have this odd idea at the moment that my bump is getting smaller instead of bigger although DH assures me this is not the caseGrin.

TripleRock · 27/08/2013 09:34

Kim I'm rocking some rather fetching 'cankles' now too. They don't even go down overnight :(
