Hi all! Providing the ladies who are currently in hospital don't give birth before the last 20 posts in our old thread, we've made it to a new one with babies all still staying put for now!

Here's the stats thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the FB group (better for sharing documents and pictures), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

LotsaTuddles yes to feeling like needing a poo when you don't
Sounds like something could happen soon for you! I'm at the hospital (being induced) and when they first monitored the baby they said I was having contractions every 10 mins but I couldn't feel them! I can definitely feel them now though! [Smile]

HettySunshine · 28/08/2013 07:46

Eek Charl and Lotsa! Two more babies today I think! Grin

PurplePoppySeed · 28/08/2013 07:54

Good luck xx

LotsaTuddles · 28/08/2013 07:57

I hope so Charl, not going to get my hopes up too much though, just incase I still have a bit of a wait on my hands.

Good luck for you though. Hope it goes ok Grin

HettySunshine · 28/08/2013 08:16

Lotsa, I've just seen on the Stats Thread that we have the same due date! Double eek!

badguider · 28/08/2013 08:26

Eek hetty I think you've updated your details on a very old stats list rather than the most recent which is at the end and has everybody organised in Edd order and all the births first!

EmmaDee · 28/08/2013 08:58

Hi all, I have just had a call from my doctor and my esr levels are high, anyone know what this is? He said it was an inflamation of joints etc and wasn't too concerned, however after a bit of Dr Google I can't find much about it? Anyone know?

Good luck all the births today!

HettySunshine · 28/08/2013 09:32

Sorry for confusing the stats list. I have sorted now. Silly old baby brain! Smile

fl0b0t · 28/08/2013 12:02

D'oh to babybrain!
wee how's little Freya? I hope she's improving :-)

Lovely to meet readytosettle and purplepoppyseed yesterday! Costa iced drinks in this weather= bliss!

Saw the MW today and was told "I wish everyone I saw was like you!". I felt very smug for a moment then a bit sad that other people's pregnancies are more complicated. So sending lots of love to everyone who is having anything complicated happening!

Baby is about 3/5 engaged and behaving wonderfully apparently. It also has a "nice bottom, if a bit bony" :-)

Next appointment (as I'm a week behind) will be at 39 weeks where we will talk about induction but not do anything. She seemed pretty keen not to do a membrane sweep (I'm not worried either way) as she thinks baby is doing all the right things :-)

Going to go blackberry picking this afternoon! :-)

Well, was woken up at 4 this morning with bump pains and have been having contractions pretty regularly (every 15 mins ish) since then. Think this is it.... Noon of the traditional warning signs, no show, no waters baking or anything, so thought it might just be Brixton hicks for a while, but not for 8 hours, surely??

So far have managed to distract myself by making two fish pies and some pizza bases but am now a bit knackered. What else are you supposed to do in early labour?

fl0b0t · 28/08/2013 12:33

In other news... it's amazing how quickly 1000 calories of pizza can disappear..... Blush

weebarra · 28/08/2013 12:41

Freya woke up for her 3am feed and had lots of boob. She is much more alert and they're going to let us out. Good thing too as I have two very sad little boys at home.

TripleRock · 28/08/2013 12:43

I watched that Midwife programme on catch up. I cried when that poor ladies babies had to be transferred away from her to a different hospital :(

TripleRock · 28/08/2013 12:44

Brilliant news Weebarra!

HettySunshine · 28/08/2013 12:49

Weebarra, that's great news! I'm so pleased you'll all be together soon. Have a lovely, lovely time. Grin

Readytosettle · 28/08/2013 12:58

mooster try thinking of ways to increase ur oxytocin levels...maybe a rom com, nice book, a bath, some nice music, go for a walk etc. i take it ur still eating plenty to keep ur energy levels up?

andadietcoke · 28/08/2013 13:03

mooster ooh, exciting! Have you taken paracetamol? I had a day of pains like that on Sunday but paracetamol stopped everything.

Mooster1709 · 28/08/2013 13:57

Fantastic news weebarra

Have tried two lots of paracetamol and no change. Yes to eating. Am now trying bouncing on ball but bloody painful... I thought this bit was only supposed to last 8 hours?!

badguider · 28/08/2013 14:04

So pleased for weebarra and freya Smile

And excited for Mooster... agree about the oxytocin...

Unfortunately I drove dh out of our bed last night with my 'heavy breathing' (man doesn't know he's born btw, I am normally the quietest sleeper ever) so am missing cuddles in the morning :(

MrsMangoBiscuit · 28/08/2013 14:10

8 hours? With DD1 I started with pains on Monday. She was born on the Thursday. Grin Thankfully it didn't start to ramp up until Wednesday, so managed to get in some rest, make a fish pie, and eat it. Hoping yours moves a bit quicker.

Readytosettle · 28/08/2013 14:24

badguider my DH was complaining about my 'really loud' snoring this morning...I advised him that it's because I've had a stuffy nose for the last 8 months, that it was likely to stop as soon as I've had the baby, and that a baby is likely to be even more disturbing to his sleep (in other words, I suggest u stop talking now!)

badguider · 28/08/2013 14:33

ha ready my dh already knows the baby is likely to snuffle far more loudly than I do. I have pointed out that I don't snore and that he should think himself lucky that a bit of mouth breathing is all he's got to deal with - but he replied that one of the reasons he married me was I was such a quiet sleeper Grin

unfortunately in all seriousness he is a bit of an insomniac and really light sleeper, i think he's going to find the baby stage tough... i'm much better at napping than him and at getting back to sleep after being woken and I don't think our flat is big enough that an actual cry from a baby wouldn't wake him up in any room (man can hear a pin drop!).

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 28/08/2013 14:55

Coo, lots to catch up on! hope Freya is much better today and you get home to your boys. Get wiggling Mooster!

Nothing going on here apart from the start of the "any news?" texts from the in-laws. I knew I should have made DH stick to the "early September" due date rather than tell them the 27th! Grrr.

Oh and I am doing some extreme nesting... I just went at the pyracantha with the hedge trimmer. About six metres of hedge, from waist height up to full reach above my head. There's more higher up but I am not going on a ladder when DH isn't there to do it for me like I've been asking for three weeks watch me. Now I have to get the clippings onto the lawn and shred-mow them. ROAR!!!

Ahem.

WaggyBlueElf · 28/08/2013 15:36

Texts have started here too Rake - four so far, so I suppose it could be worse. How many times can you say 'we'll let you know' before appearing rude?!

I have been getting slight crampy feelings low down though, so I don't know if something is starting? I still don't think he's engaged and had no show or anything else to indicate he might be ready to emerge so I'm guessing it'll still be a while.

Great news about Freya weebarra, and fingers crossed mooster!
