Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

Good luck for tomorrow kes it's an agonising wait for the phone call!
I'm still quite sore, are you?

TarkaTheOtter · 18/07/2013 12:18

So no lovely lunch for me as they didn't even let me have the drink. They have decided from my fasting levels that I have type 2 and have put me on the diet/blood testing regime I was on with dd. Assuming I am induced at 38 weeks again I have 23 weeks and 2 days until I can eat cake again, and chips Sad Sad Sad

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 18/07/2013 12:34

enormouse bikey and VHM woop for good scans!

lovelilies woop for good results, and STEP AWAY FROM THE GOOGLE.

tarka urgh, that is SHIT. You poor love. How are you feeling?

MrsAVB woop for heartbeat!

SarahL you'll be fine lovely. You can do this, you know you can. You've done it before. Have a hug.

kes fx for good news tomorrow.

I am going for my 16wk tomorrow, looking forward to it, but I want it to COOL DOWN! I'm also finishing up the wedding cake I'm making for this weekend tomorrow (IYSWIM) - i hope it doesn't all melt. Other than that, headaches, slight squizty pains in side every so often which I think are ligament stretching pains, I am okay - nausea is mostly subsiding now. Phew.

bugsyburge · 18/07/2013 12:55

yes mrs mine seem to be when bladder is full... pleased I'm not the only one

Frizz1986 · 18/07/2013 12:58

oh tarka that really does suck.

mrsavb yay for the heartbeat. I can't wait for my midwife app now as it is just less than 2 weeks away (am 14+6 today so almost 15 weeks. Woop)

Well done on all the good scans. Mine seemed to stay in the wrong position for ages but am quite glad as it meant that I got to see it on screen for longer.
Me and DH have named ours Pinocchio as its hand was on its face so it looked like it had a massive nose. My work colleagues have nicknamed it brains as me and dh are rather geeky!

sarahl you can't totally cope with your wonderful big family. Having 3 was probably the hard bit, a forth will be no problem at all for you Smile

Was looking at the calendar today and only 22 weeks left of work!! I know that its a long way off but it sounds so nice. And I only have 25 weeks till Pinocchio arrives. So excited!

Can't really remember what else has been said really but am just hopping on on my lunch break.

Oh has anyone else found that sickness has been worse since 12 weeks. Before 12 weeks I just felt sick but since the day of my 12 week scan I have been sick once a week (I know its minimal and I have got off v lightly so I am not complaining but just find it really weird as I thought that the placenta is supposed to be taking over)

Must dash need to get back to work Sad

Sultanajo · 18/07/2013 14:55

Great news on all the scans and excellent news love! What a relief! Good luck tomorrow keski - finally your wait will be over!

tarka what a shite morning followed by a shite ending! Sorry hun!

sarahl go for it! You are super woman and can absolutely do it! We are all behind you!

I too get pain when my bladder is full and actually getting it a bit while walking around and getting up. Am weirdly ok about it and things must be stretching and moving so thats what I think it is. Yesterday when I was walking I felt weird pressure in my lower abdomen while walking - the only way I can describe it is I felt as though my uterus was coming up over the top of my pubic bone (which it obviously is at nearly 17 weeks), and it was about to push out forwards into my abdomen to create a bump. The feeling went away again the next day. All very weird. Really cant believe in 3 weeks I will be half way! Amazing!

Was looking at baby stuff today and decided I want to find out what we are having as it will subtly affect what I buy. We are still going for neutral colours, but I struggled today to find a wide range of neutral bits and bobs....

MrsAVB · 18/07/2013 15:13

tarka hope you're doing ok, tis rubbish!
humpty hieroglyphs AND wedding cake making? You are one talented lady!
Pregnancy seems a bit like one long wait after another; the wait to get pg, waiting for first scan, now it seems like a long wait til the next one... Mine is at 22 weeks. I know I shouldn't wish the time away though...
X

Sultanajo · 18/07/2013 15:22

mrsavb isnt it just! Seems to be slightly better now as mw appointments are interspersed with other important dates. Mine seem to be every four weeks I think which is cool! However, am really looking forward to the start of mat leave so I can leave work stress behind and concentrate on all things baby! Found out yesterday one of my friends is preggers and due in Jan which is awesome! So I have one friend a few weeks ahead of me and another a few weeks behind. Wish we lived closer....

enormouse · 18/07/2013 19:19

Thanks humpty good luck for tomorrow. I wish I could bake, but I give all things cakey a swerve as I'm allergic to eggs.

frizz maybe it was doing a pose of the thinker?

sultanajo I got a few grey and white things in the mothercare sale. It's great you have friends that are going through it all at the same time with you.

I just got my eyebrows waxed and all I can say is THE PAIN!! I had forgotten how painful it is when you're pg. Am typing this with one hand whilst the other is holding a fridge cold coke can to the space where my monobrow used to be (that's why my responses are so short, I'll write a little more once I've recovered).

Sultanajo · 18/07/2013 20:02

Oh blimey enormouse you brave crazy lady!!! Poor you! Hope the cold can helps...Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 18/07/2013 20:12

MrsAVB Grin I am modest too...

enormouse I want to open a bakery one day (maybe after mat leave) which does a range of properly tasty gluten, dairy, wheat and egg free (and maybe sugar free) cupcakes and cakes. I'd have to do lots of experiments! I can't see it's impossible to cut each of those out though. Would you eat egg-free cake? Might help the hurty eyebrow...

sultana I got something a little like that feeling the other day. Haven't had it since though. Good luck with the gender scan - I know what you mean about wanting to know (although we prob won't) in order to plan ahead!

Dinner now then cake - may not be around massively for the next couple of days, as making and decorating cake, then at wedding on Sat. Will pop my head in after my 16wk appt tomorrow though.

fryingpantoface · 18/07/2013 20:32

Just checking in, hope everyone is doing ok. My phone isn't working correctly so can't catch up properly.

14 weeks tomorrow- woo!

Sultanajo · 18/07/2013 20:35

Good luck humpty with all your cake making, wedding attending and your 16 week appointment! Yeah let us know how it goes! Grin

Congrats for tomorrow frying! Woop woop! Grin

enormouse · 18/07/2013 21:14

humpty I have done in the past. For my 18th my parents found a bakery that made a gorgeous chocolate sponge cake with chocolate buttercream and raspberry jam. According to my family, you couldn't tell it was egg free. I've found that I can eat things like banoffee pie and some cheesecakes.

I think it's fantastic you're planning to cater to such a wide audience, I always feel a little hard done by when desserts and cakes come out. wrt replacing eggs in baking you'll need to find an alternative binding agent or you'll end up with a v crumbly cake. My MIL has a great eggless brownie recipe I can send you if you like.

sultanajo I think stupid is a better word. I've recovered somewhat but I am not getting it done ever again. I am fully reconciled to being a hairy she-beast for the next 6 months.

Smile fryingpan

sarahleanne · 18/07/2013 21:49

you women r so bloody lovely..you should all be agony aunts lol.
seriously nearly cried reading all your lovely messages, then got to frizz and totally made me laugh as its my 3rd not my 4th....I think, hang on let me count them haha.really cheered me up though, so the 3rd one is the hardest haha Grin seriously though thanks ladies you have all made me smile again. DH is being a bit of an ass cuntpuffin at the mo ( and to be fair I havnt been a saint) but I thought they were supposed to put up with us when were pregnant Grin and our crazy hormones . to be honest I cant wait for him to piss off go back to work so I get 3 weeks of peace.
thanks for listening, rant over!!

good luck to everyone with upcoming appointments, I have my 16 week app in 2 weeks.

i try so hard to remember who wrote what and I think right I'll remember names and do individual comments and I get to the end and think shit cus ive bloody forgot everything already .

work was horrible today, old peoples home where the windows open a maximum of 2 inches and the under floor heating never goes off! literally was melting into a puddle on the floor, really feel sorry for heavily pregnant woman in this heat.
oh thanks to the person a few days ago who mentioned about running your wrists under the cold tap, it has literally saved me the last couple of days whilst at work. Grin

woa its not like me to write such a longpost, sorry to bore you all !!

sarahleanne · 18/07/2013 22:03

question ladies (just read something on a post and its made me wonder) has anyone here been on a drip during birth and still managed to have a water birth?
I have group b strep and always thought I wouldn't be able to have a water birth due to being on a drip of antibiotics during labour.just asking on the off chance that any of you know any different?

Spacefrog35 · 18/07/2013 22:07

Not boring at all! glad you're feeling a bit more able to cope.

I'm going to really struggle not to accidentally drop the "cuntpuffin" bomb when I'm back at work next week, makes me giggle so much Grin

& the cold water/ wrists thing is amazing! Thanks from me too x

Sultanajo · 18/07/2013 22:41

sarahl glad u ended up smiling! Grin

space I yelled cuntpuffin the other day at an utter twat who cut me up while driving! Felt amazing, but I too worry its going to slip out to the wrong person! Blush

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 18/07/2013 23:11

Hee hee I have made you all say cuntpuffin! It's my favourite insult. Second favourite is cuntdonkey, but that is usually for people I actually really hate. Somehow cuntpuffin is friendlier.

Sultanajo · 18/07/2013 23:19

Lol humpty! You so have!

Anyone elses hayfever being a cuntpuffin? The last couple of days have been a sneezathon due to all windows being open and my eyes are now starting to go. As if I wasnt grumpy enough with the heat! I actually yelled at the weatherman just now because he said pollen was gonna stay high and hot sticky nights to come! When will it bugger off?

On another note, DH just said if we cope with one little one we should definitely have another! I am only half way thru cooking this one and he already has me knocked up with a second! Shock I told him it was a deal if he cooks the next one! Its only fair! Grin

curlywurlyllass · 19/07/2013 00:06

Lovelillies and keski (did i get right ladies? Cant flick back on my phone grrr) so sorry to hear you have had to go for further tests, hope your worries are soon over

Cant wait for pod to make the new thread #7 and see what awesome name she gives us :)

MrsAVB · 19/07/2013 08:33

Morning all!
Made the classic mistake of trying to diversify my breakfast this morning (muesli and fruit... It's not like it was kippers...). Big mistake. Please can the vomming stop soon?
humpty congrats for starting a CUNTPUFFIN craze... Maybe we should add it to the urban dictionary? I still don't think I could say the c word out loud though. But I do like cockwomble Smile. Good luck with the midwife today!
sarah- we'll always be here. And we'll always have your back!
Have a good day all! X

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 19/07/2013 09:45

MrsAVB it is def time for your vomming to stop. I shall 'av a word. Are you still taking meds?

Cake is going well - thank god! I was worried, as I've never made a 12" cake before, so worried it would sink, but it hasn't - now for the top two tiers!

Seems cooler today, thank god. At last.

keskiviikko · 19/07/2013 09:55

Lovelilies I've not had any pain. To be honest I'm having it easy physically. Been a bit wretchy and only threw up a couple of times, but I think that was mostly down to stress and nerves. I have no idea how you feel pregnant, but I don't, I've had the odd random ligament pain. I have lost weight, still in my pre-pregnancy clothes and just look a bit podgier than usual and I'm 16 weeks on Saturday. But to counter that I'm getting the major headfucks with this testing Wink Still waiting on the call. Hope it comes soon.

chocoloulou33 · 19/07/2013 10:42

mrsA how many weeks ru now? Hope your sickness stops soon. Mine stopped about 14 & a half weeks. Don't feel amazing or anything but better than it was that's for sure.

Doppler question for you ladies. I wasn't planning to get one as I've heard some negative comments about them but my friend has one that she is giving me 2nite. Aagghhh am scared as I have an anterior placenta so not sure I'll pick up the heartbeat! She has no gel with the doppler. Where do I buy some? Can't see it in the shops anywhere! Or is there anything else u can use instead of the gel? Xx
