eeyoreish no idea whether the cramping in your fanjo is normal, but positive that calling a fanjo is not normal! LOVE IT, consider my 'foof' officially now a fanjo!

lyndsey what have you bought???!!

Has anyone else bought anything yet? I'm itching to go shopping but dh would go mad. X

lyndsey90 · 14/07/2013 21:18

I bought a baby bath hehe. A hungry caterpillar teething toy, newborn avent bottle set, a girrafe toy to hang on a pram and plastic ducks for baby bath... Oops... OH have me £50 limit hehe :) oooh and a cute teddy rattle with handle hoopy thingy!

lyndsey90 · 14/07/2013 21:19

Might be jumping the gun with the buying but I got my pay rise pay back this week and thought I'd rather buy some baby stuffs rather than waste it. I can't save for shiiite!!

littlestgirlguide · 14/07/2013 21:31

I can't wait to go shopping either! I've already got most things from DD, but my shopping list is as follows:
Buggy (want a Maxi Cosi Mura 3 in red :-)
Entire wardrobe in newborn and 0-3 months (though will just buy a few gender neutral things as we won't find out the sex)
Winter newborn things - blankets etc - as DD was a June baby so never had them
Folding travel cot with blackout screens (as will be camping from a couple of months all being well, just like last time)
New teats for existing bottles
Dummies
Wardrobe and chest of drawers
Re-paint nursery

I think that's it! Doesn't sound much when I say it quick!

jazzcat28 · 14/07/2013 21:34

Lucky you Lindsey - my DH said today he's not getting excited until we've had the scan "as there might be nothing there" I could have strangled him but he's just picking up on sad experiences from friends of mine recently and so is trying to help by being cautious. So I'm not allowed to buy a thing until 12wk scan. Have a mind to drive him straight from hospital to mothercare on principle!

Had a cuddle with a friends 1wk old newborn today.... Tried to keep my excitement low key but got a few funny looks

All my symptoms are fading so I really hope DH's pessimistic view isn't becoming reality :-(

lyndsey90 · 14/07/2013 21:36

jazz this seems to be an occurring this with many ladies on here hun. I'm lacking in symptoms. No sickness or anything!!

gnittinggnome · 14/07/2013 21:45

I'm being a bit superstitious about buying new stuff too, although I am allowing myself a quick ogle at baby furniture, baby stuff in shops and have stockpiled masses of baby knitting patterns! Glad little bean ought to land in February, so I can actually crack use the baby cashmere yarn I've got, although my practical side says superwash might be a better investment...

littlestgirlguide · 14/07/2013 21:49

I didn't buy a thing last time till I was 18 weeks. Not going to deprive myself that long this time!

Awwww lyndsey the baby stuff sounds fab - i bet it was so fun getting it Grin. i have no idea what we need to get for a baby! I have seen an inflatable duck bath that I totally want - mainly because I am just love rubber ducks duck tub i think well probably avoid buying things until the 12 weeks scan at least as I don't wanna jinx things - I know that's silly! My main focus is clearing out all the crap I have in our two bed house so that we actually have room for a baby! Bye bye office and no doubt lots of clothes! Thank god we have a basement! (For all my crap - not baby Wink)

Glad the BBQ went well Eyeore! I bet it was lovely to enjoy lots of tasty food. I've had some stabby fanjo pains - just the odd one or two but figured its probably normal - who knows what my bodies doing at the moment it's got a mid of it own!

Gnitting - I'd love to knit some baby stuff but I'm more a crocheter so might have to stick to toys and blankets as I think my head would probably explode trying to knit a garment - although i did buy a knitting machine recently that I've started figuring out so maybe I can "cheat" a bit and use that GrinI can manage to make a rectangle so far!

lyndsey90 · 14/07/2013 22:34

That baby bath is tooo cute!!!!

vix206 · 15/07/2013 06:21

If we are having another boy I barely need to buy a thing. But if its a girl I will be hitting the shops after 20 week scan!! No there are a few things I got rid of that I wouldn't want to be without...

Bouncy chair (essential!)
Car seat
Muslin squares

I must admit our baby bath was a waste of money and space for us. We found it a right faff and much easier (and nicer) for one of us to be in the bath with baby. Still do it occasionally 3 years on with DS!!

vix206 · 15/07/2013 07:38

Oh and 12+1 today and scan at 11 GrinGrinGrin

misskatamari · 15/07/2013 07:55

Awww I hope it goes well Vix!!! Grin

gnittinggnome · 15/07/2013 08:21

missk have you looked at Ravelry.com? It's full of free patterns for both crochet and knitting, so you'll find something there to get working on, I'm sure! I can't crochet for toffee, I've been halfway through a breast-feeding shawl for the past 8 months....

And that duck baby bath is so cute!

Anyways, must dash as I'm due at the MW for my booking-in appt at 10! Hurrah, finally! Not that I get to finally see the bean, that's booked for next Monday, but still, a little progress. Am praying they find a vein nice and easy. Vix206 I am very jealous of your scan! Hope all goes well.

11+5 today!

bugsyburge · 15/07/2013 09:31

eugh I'm coming on for a moan.... thought I was feeling much better but started this morning by being sick in the garden Sad , I'm now at work and have a very funny feeling in my stomach.......combined with this heat I feel dreadful!!!

happy Monday all

vix good luck for your scan! I hope it goes well

bugsy sorry you're ill, can you head home early from work?

gnitting well done on your knitting plans! I was planning to make a patchwork blanket for my sister's baby, but the baby is due in a month and I haven't started yet! oops....

I don't think I'll be buying anything for baby until we're past the 20 week scan. It's felt such a marathon to get here, and our baby such a miracle, that we don't want to preempt anything. My DH would leave it until we leave hospital!

sunflowered · 15/07/2013 10:56

Am all booked in and have dates for my 12 and 20 week scans already in the diary - 12 week scan booked for 31st July so will only be 11 weeks but good to book it sooner rather than later Grin

vix and gnitting I hope your appointment/scan went well!

8+5

littlestgirlguide · 15/07/2013 11:05

Very sleepy but perfectly formed baby in there! So relieved, it was lovely to see a perfect little baby on the screen. I hope they stay as relaxed when they're born! Grin
