I haven't found a Feb 2007 thread yet so thought I'd start one. Just found out I was pregnant on Monday so it is very early days still - but so exciting nonetheless. The due date calculators generally say I am due on 1 Feb, with on churning out 31 Jan and another 4 Feb. I thought it was more like 15 Feb but I will find our more at my first doctor's appointment on 15 June.

My stats:
me 28
dh 35
first baby
due 31/01 or 1/02 or 4/02 or 15/02 ???? (take your pick!)

Anyone want to join me?

Hi everyone so sorry several people are feeling under the weather, Fingers crossed for you, Katsh and Caitlinsmummy.

caitlinsmummy · 27/07/2006 19:06

Hi peachygirl, thanks so much. Keepin everything crossed x

suzi2 · 27/07/2006 19:45

Katsh & caitlinsmummy - hope you get good news, fingers crossed for you.

Mazzystar, I have ahd awful headaches the last few days. I had this with DS too. Really struggling with them and coping with DS so keep shipping him off to my mums which definately helps my head.

Regarding the birth thing... with DS is had a long prelabour, alsmot 3 days of every 10 min contractions before the actual event. labour went well until I was put on my back to be monitored. But all in all I got there in the end! I don't know if it was the injection or the hormones afterwards but I'm sure I've forgotten the pain and I consider it the most wonderful experience of my life. Hoping to get a homebirth this time (hate hospital beds!) and I'm actually really looking forward giving birth again.

Katsh · 27/07/2006 20:39

Thanks everyone for your support. I'll let you know what the score is tomorrow.

soundbites · 28/07/2006 09:36

Had my scan yesteday. It all took about 2 hours in total, with waiting, having a blood test, having a meeting with the midwife
etc. The scan was absolutely amazing. We could see the heart beating and the baby wriggling and she was able to measure that it is 67mm now from head to rump! She confirmed that I was 13 weeks 0 days and that the baby is due on 1 February. She printed off a picture for us to keep too (DH was with me throughout). I must admit I felt a tear running down my cheek at one point, it was so emotional and such a relief to know all was well. We rang family and friends last night to tell the news.

Katsh and Caitlinsmummy - hope you are able to put your minds at rest soon.

Have a good weekend xxx

morning girls,

sorry to read some of you haven't been too well and good luck with scans tomorrow, hopefully everything will be just fine

Interesting to read birth experiences too, after 23 hours (failed induction) i had a c-sec and would hope that this time with it being the second things move along quickly themselves. Elective does sound great but really want to try - just hope i can.

Very sick here, also napping a lot, in bed earlyish and still swigging away at coke. Had killer headache yesterday couldn't even bear the PC monitor...ah well!

Suzi2, Bunny... [waves]

10+1

ChaCha · 28/07/2006 10:41

Sorry soundbites, meant to say scan sound fab Remember that feeling with DS, i had tears at the first and utter excitment at the 20week one especially when told it would be a boy!
I can't wait, mine is next Saturday

Katsh · 28/07/2006 12:41

I'm afraid I'm leaving this thread. A very painful miscarriage this morning, and then a scan to confirm. I wish all of you the very best for your pregnancies.

TuttiFrutti · 28/07/2006 12:51

Oh Katsh, I am so sorry. What a terrible thing to happen - I don't know what to say but I hope you are coping.

Caitlinsmummy, I hope you are hanging on in there.

ChaCha, our birth experiences last time are identical! Only difference is, I have no wish to ever go near natural childbirth again!!!

I'm really jealous of those of you who've had scans. I can't wait for mine but it's not for another week and a half.

Tommy · 28/07/2006 13:16

So sorry to hear that Katsh

caitlinsmummy · 28/07/2006 13:41

Jus to update, baby is fine and i am jus under 9 weeks not 8 as i thought. So so sorry katsh, i no how you must be feeling. You are in my thoughts xx

ChaCha · 28/07/2006 16:30

K - So sorry to hear your sad news Look after yourself and get plenty of rest.

TuttiFrutti - If you don't mind me asking how long ago was that? I had my c-sec almost 8 months ago and am being referred to see a consultant during this PG.

Aghhh...feeling sick this afternoon, watched a great DVD while DS slept but cannot fight the sickness anymore - satsuma's, coke on ice, skittles, ice-cream and pickled onions have not doen the job
Poor DS, such happy memories of mummy he'll have...with her head stuck in a bowl, he hee!

titchy77 · 28/07/2006 17:23

So sorry katsh, had a m/c in oct so know what your going through. my heart goes out to you and your family

mummy2jake · 28/07/2006 19:02

so sorry katsh thinking of you xx

MaybeBaba · 28/07/2006 19:48

Evening all!

Katsh- sorry to hear your bad news - you were due around the same time as me - it is quite worrying.

On a more positive note, saw midwife yesterday - not quite a booking in appt, more a basic chat and info gathering so they can let the jospital know I exist! I have been put as 'high risk' after gestational diabetes and a c-section for a large baby - I had no plans of a birthing centre anyway! I have changed hospitals twice in three days - Dr discussed the large one in town, but the midwies said it is my choice and the other one has the same acilities - also the unit is 2 years old and all modern - the other is over 10 years old and sufering! So there we go!

Off work or two weeks now - yipee - got a few days away next week then off to Spain - can't wait - but can;t find the energy to pack!

bunny3 · 28/07/2006 23:09

Katsh sorry to read your news.

Chacha hiya! I had a horrid first labour, I was induced and 27 hours later ds was finally hauled out by ventouse. I dreaded my second labour but it couldnt have been more different, from start to finish was about 2 hours and I pushed for only 8 minutes before dd was born, it was wonderful. I had no stiches, no pain relief, nothing. This time I am looking forward to it.

I've just eaten a chinese takeaway and I had .....

PRAWNS

sweet and sour prawns actually and they were lovely. Half way through, dh peered at my plate and said "I thought you werent meant to eat prawns when you're pg". But I finished the lot and they were bloody fantastic

I'm really really tired too and get waves of nausea throughout the day. I'm 11.4 I think so hopefully I'll feel better soon.

peachygirl · 29/07/2006 09:23

Hi,
Bunny I ate prawns the other day you are OK as long as they has been cooked.
Sorry to hear your news Katsh
I finally got my scan letter it is on the 9th August. I'm really pleased to have it at last but would have liked it earlier, mainly because I would have liked to visit my parents with the pictures before we went on holiday, I think now we will go to see them next week and I'll just have to post them

shanks313 · 29/07/2006 16:17

Hey

Im 10 weeks today and still getting quite a few aches,is anybody else?

Tommy · 29/07/2006 17:21

definitely me shanks. I keep geeting anxious then remember my boobs still feel like boulders so I think everything must be OK!
I have a scan on 12 Aug (supposed to be 9 weeks but I will be 12 by then) so hopefully that should put my mind at rest

shanks313 · 29/07/2006 18:41

I have my scan on 17th August at almost 13 weeks, its a long time to wait.

I keep getting aches low down but Im not sure if its just the normal stretching, the cystitis I was told I had or anything else.

Keeps making it uncomfortable to sleep.

teabags · 30/07/2006 09:25

I've had the cramps, Shanks. GP said probably just stretching

I am so effing tired! 11 weeks tomorrow and desperate for this tiredness to pass. My poor DH, I have been so moody & grumpy with him. He can do no right

My scan is not til 13 weeks either, such a drag. I ordered a doppler from Ebay which appears to have gone awol in the post

Bunny - I eat cooked prawns regularly. Very yummy source of protein!

Tommy · 30/07/2006 13:51

I'm really tired too! Keep falling asleep at inappropriate moments but then can't get to sleep at night cos my head is full of anxieties - keep thinking something awful is going to happen to the baby

sorkycake · 30/07/2006 14:59

I wonder if any of you girls are experincing this:
Every time I bend forward to pick something up from the floor I get a strange pressure in my face and head and if I don't stand up sharpish I go dizzy and can't get back up until I look up again. Anyone shed any light?
I thought it might be blood pressure related but I don't ever have high blood pressure, always about 100/60 ish. Also for the last week I keep having an intermittent tinnitus in my right ear, been driving me crackers at times, I wonder if the two are related. Going for scan tomorrow so may see a midwife, will mention it then. Don't quite know what to think.

peachygirl · 30/07/2006 15:08

Hi I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and I get the cramps that everyone is talking about.
sorkycake I've also experienced a couple of 'head rushes' too.
I went through terrible tiredness in the last weeks of term and found if I slept during the day I also didn't sleep so well at night but I'm still tired now it's the hols! At the moment I am waking every night, the other night I got up as I had been awake for two hours!!

cadbury · 30/07/2006 15:14

snorky cake - you might have a small inner ear infection - something like labyrinthitis maybe. Its just as likely to be low blood pressure too - I get that.
