I haven't found a Feb 2007 thread yet so thought I'd start one. Just found out I was pregnant on Monday so it is very early days still - but so exciting nonetheless. The due date calculators generally say I am due on 1 Feb, with on churning out 31 Jan and another 4 Feb. I thought it was more like 15 Feb but I will find our more at my first doctor's appointment on 15 June.

My stats:
me 28
dh 35
first baby
due 31/01 or 1/02 or 4/02 or 15/02 ???? (take your pick!)

Anyone want to join me?

Hello girls,

Haven't much time to catch up, having a little celebration BBQ, scan went well, everything in place, heartbeat detected and am 8 weeks, EDD 22nd of February, 2007 God willing.

Yippeeeee!

suzi2 · 13/07/2006 18:12

yay Chacha! We're only a day apart now - I'm due 21st after being put back. Enjoy your celebration!

cadbury · 13/07/2006 18:22

that's great cha cha.

mummy2jake · 13/07/2006 19:29

hi all had my booking in appt with midwife today and scan is booked in for 27th july two weeks today and was told that since i had my ds things have changed and i will get a compulsory scan at 19/20 weeks to check for abnormalities.
and i will be referred to the consultant again to keep an eye on my high bp

and have the dreaded blood test to do that i absolutley hate.

MaybeBaba · 13/07/2006 19:49

Evening all - glad to see everyone is feeling well this week - it would seem that the lack of heat is making us all feel better! I have managed to get a GP appt on 24th July! Will be 9 weeks then - from what I know - round here it is a cursory thing as gp refers you to - booking in is at hospital and then scan a few weeks later. I don't know if they do nuchal around here so have made enquiries about going private - just feel it is something I can do as I am 37 on 23rd July - feel really old!!

Two more weeks in work then off for 2 weeks - will need to get in touch with travel insurance people in case it makes a difference to the policy!

suzi2 · 13/07/2006 20:17

Anyone who's on their 2nd (or more) baby - are you getting all the standard blood tests done again for HIV, rubella immunity, blood group etc? It's only 18 months since I had them done before and can't think of any good reason to need them again. What else do they take bloods for? Iron? Might need that one.

MaybeBaba · 13/07/2006 21:08

I won't bother with the HIV and rubella ones as they were ok last time! Iron definately and also glucose levels need checking - I had gestational diabetes last time and that is my main concern at the moment!

mummy2jake · 13/07/2006 21:32

hi suzi this will be my second child first ds is 22months and i am having all the same blood tests again aswell an extra one to check my kidney function although things probably haven`t changed and i hate needles but its over in a couple of seconds so i think its worth it.

peachygirl · 14/07/2006 10:14

Hi everyone, well so much for me saying no sickness I have been really ill! I think maybe linked to something I ate too, but the feeling of nausea is overwhelming at the moment. Had yesterday off work but back today and feeling very, very delicate. I haven't eaten much which I'm sure is making it worse, but have forced a couple of things down. Hope everyone else is ok.

tara29 · 14/07/2006 13:22

I'm on 2nd & the notes for my booking in said they would take all bloods, I think they do them all as standard in our area anyway.
Peachygirl sorry you are not well.. I've been feeling v sick & I've got a real smell thing as well -nappies, alcohol, meat cooking urk!- which I didn't have last time.
I'm absolutely massive as well, was still in my jeans at 4 months last time but no chance of that this time round..

shanks313 · 15/07/2006 19:26

Booked in ofr my booking in appointment with GP on 24th July/

Is it normal to feel AF type aches? As Im getting them alot. Also not wanting to eat much and very tired.

sshhh · 15/07/2006 19:41

CONGRATULATIONs Shanks313 - fab news! I think i have same edd as you...

Welcome to Tara and Ruthey too .

I'm 8 weeks today and i'm HUGE. I'm really uncomfortable in myself and embarrassed about my size. I haven't told many close friends that i'm preg, but it looks so obvious - especially in this weather with wee tops etc.

i'm going to a wedding in 2 weeks time and honestly dont think i'll fit my dress at this rate - and if i do i'll look awful come early evening.

i'm also knackered. want to sleep so much!

sshhh · 15/07/2006 19:42

shanks313, forgot to say that i had AF type cramps early on in both my pregnancies & afaik its entirely normal. so no need to worry

ChiTownLady · 15/07/2006 20:51

hi ladies

A quick post to bow out

I had a bit of bleeding and went to the ER where they did a million checks and confirmed theres no heartbeat - i guess i had a subconious feeling as i had been feeling gradually better over the last 2 weeks...clearly my hcg levels returning

I ve got to wait it out until monday when i can get to see my ob/gyn..

The staff at the ER where great and very thorough and very sympathetic.

Just waiting for all the implications to settle in - not to mention telling people who I had informed already ( perhaps feeling over confident)

Anyway good luck to all of you and hope to be bck on one of the anc threads soon...

Tommy · 15/07/2006 20:57

so sorry to hear that chitownlady
I had a miscarriage last year so I know what you're going through
Hang in there -will be thinking about you.

cadbury · 15/07/2006 21:04

Oh chitownlady ! I'm so sorry. Thinking of you.

sshhh · 15/07/2006 21:49

ChiTownLady, i'm so so so sorry for your loss

thoughts are with you

good luck

ChiTownLady · 15/07/2006 21:53

thanks for your thoughts - i have just posted a message under miscarriage as i am unsure what to expect in the next 24/48 hrs and could do with some advice

TuttiFrutti · 15/07/2006 22:08

Hi everyone, I've just come back from 2 weeks holiday and have had withdrawal symptoms from mumsnet!

So sorry to hear about your losses Chitownlady and Swift.

I was feeling really exhausted to the point of wanting to collapse on the floor all the time, but I think I've just turned a corner. For the last week (I'm 9 weeks now) I haven't needed to go to sleep at lunchtime any more and have been going to bed later than 9pm!

Have got my first real appointment with my GP on Monday morning - at the last one he just chatted, but I think now he will start on the medical stuff.

suzi2 · 15/07/2006 22:27

Sorry to hear your news chitown. I had an early mc (6 wks) before I had DS. very much like a heavy period for me probably because it was an early one.

I hadn't told anyone that I was pg, but felt the need to tell some people about the mc for their support. When I fell pg with DS I told everyone I was pg almost straight away as I knew then I would have their support should anything happen. So don't worry about the 'over confidence', those you have told will be there for you now. I hope that makes some sense, in my head it does.

Take care of yourself and cut yourself plenty slack.

peachygirl · 16/07/2006 15:42

Chi town lady I am so sorry

maazaa · 16/07/2006 18:36

Am so very sorry to hear your news, ChiTownLady. My thoughts are with you. x

hairycaterpillar · 16/07/2006 22:07

Really sorry to hear of your loss ChiTownLady.

Lucyb9384 · 17/07/2006 08:45

Morning all. How is everyone feeling?

I am sorry Chitownlady - my thoughts are with you.

I've got my first scan today and am excited but very nervous - what if the doctor says theres nothing there and i'm imagining it!!! ok irrational thoughts seem to be happening a lot lately - does anyone else have these fears or is it just me?!

maazaa · 17/07/2006 10:35

Morning. I am not so well. Went back to doctor after being signed off for a week and she has signed me off again. It is a real shame that I feel so rough as I will miss the end of term. However, I suppose this way, I should be better by September when we go back. Am so nauseous, tired and very faint when blood sugar drops, which she says is because i'm not eating enough.

Lucy, i feel the same about the scan. Mine is next week...I just keep thinking I would have known by now if something was wrong and as I feel so crappy, it must be a good sign, if miserable at times. Let us know how it goes!!!
