Good luck MrsV. Don't lose hope just yet xx

Vatta · 18/06/2013 08:17

mrsavb I think trimming is the way to go - my books say I shouldn't use hair removal creams in case the chemicals somehow harm the baby, so I'm just trimming now. Am sure the doctors can cope with seeing a messy bikini line!

sultanajo I just bought a dreamgenii pillow as well, will let you know how it goes. I'm still waking up on my front, I move around lots when I'm asleep!

Vatta · 18/06/2013 08:20

Good luck mrsvdb, thinking of you.

Gabbyj · 18/06/2013 08:22

Sultana from what I remember when I had DD, when you get bigger you won't be able to turn over in bed! I had a V shaped pillow, which was under my bump and this helped quite a lot too and I used this from quite early in to get me used to it!

Hope all of you vomiting feel better soon. I have been lucky so far, just the constant nausea alleviated only by tons of carbs and sleep! So much for healthy eating!

Thinking about having a private scan to alleviate anxiety. Only 7 + 4 and pretty sure I can't wait another 4 weeks without having a nervous breakdown - how did I do it last time! I can't remember!!! With all the hormones at play I can't tell if I am just being extra precious? Blush

Gabbyj · 18/06/2013 08:24

Thinking of you MrsV xx

MrsAVB · 18/06/2013 08:34

FX for today mrsv, will be thinking of you. And I think there are at least 2 ladies with 12 week scans today? Preggo brain is rubbish but am going to guess penny and sultana? Hope all goes well xxx
Is anyone else blaming bump for everything? Eg. "Who ate the last of the ice cream?" Bump did. "Who flooded the bathroom by forgetting to check the shower screen was in place?" Bump, of course!
X

Frizz1986 · 18/06/2013 08:38

mrsvdb have got all fingers and toes crossed for u

Vatta · 18/06/2013 08:38

So....advice please.

Over the last few days I've had small amounts of pinkish/brownish CM. I didn't worry about it because I've read before that so long as it's pink or brown it's old blood and not a problem.

This morning I've just seen a small amount of clear red blood in my CM. it's a tiny amount - I wouldn't have noticed at all if I hadn't been checking like a paranoid loon. I'm only ten weeks.

Wondering if I should call my midwife or if it's just a teeny tiny bit of blood should I just stay calm and ignore it?

Sultanajo · 18/06/2013 08:41

Will be thinking of you MrsV. Virtual hand holding! Really hope you have a nice surprise!

Good luck with the consultant Bunt.

Thanks Vatta - fingers crossed for the dreamgenii! Good tips there Gabby - thank you! I know what you are going through - scans are becoming an addiction and I can't believe after this Friday's it will be at least another 7 weeks before the next and then that's it!!! How do you go from 20 weeks to birth with no scans! I guess hopefully you start feeling the movements and that gives the reassurance, but it all feels like a long time!

Frizz I really feel for you - what a shitty time you are having! DH's job has been in question for the last few years and he will find out more in September - marvellous timing that would be - 3 months before baby Sultana makes an appearance! I am currently in denial and trying to be positive that he will still have a job! In fact I have convinced myself so much that it will be fine, that I will be in mega shock if it's not!!!

TobyLerone · 18/06/2013 08:44

Info re underwired bras in pregnancy.

Page 6 here.

Like anything else, there are different opinions. Do whatever you prefer. I don't think there's a right or wrong.

Sultanajo · 18/06/2013 08:46

MrsAVB it is Penny, but mine is on Friday.... OMG yes - DH came home the other night and saw I had eaten something he was leaving for his dinner and I blamed it on the bump to be!!!

Vatta hopefully it's nothing, but to put your mind at rest I would contact your midwife and get her advice. I had browny/pink spotting for 10 days from around 8 weeks and it got really heavy one day and I was convinced it was game over, only to go for a scan and see a happy little bean with a strong heartbeat and no explanation for the bleeding. However, I would always check with your midwife - she may say to monitor it for now, but if it's now red blood (although tiny amount) I would just call her for your own peace of mind...

Naturegirl82 · 18/06/2013 08:48

Good luck everyone with scans today. Fx everything is ok for you all.

I'm about to start three really tiring days at work and I've got a sore throat and generally feel under the weather. Not good timing. At least it gives me a reason for not joining in with the drinking tonight.

TobyLerone · 18/06/2013 08:48

Good luck, MrsV Flowers

farmersdaughter · 18/06/2013 09:00

For everyone who is feeling pants, worried or just generally burgh...
this is for you Enjoy

farmersdaughter · 18/06/2013 09:13

Don't judge me on the Daily Fail link Blush Grin

Vatta easier said than done I know but try not to worry not helpful but maybe call your MW if you are still concerned. Maybe worth having a scan to your mind at rest.

Nature look after yourself. If you can, early nights.

Toby bra links..amazballs [winks]

Who ever suggested Hot Milk, looks really good. Will get measure and get some. I'm a 32FF so lords only know how big I am going to get this time around...{ekkks} Not a fan of bravissimo, but might give it a shot since you lot are all raving about it.

Choc Boooo, hope you're feeling better this morning. I'm started on fresh ginger tea in the morning and peppermint tea in the evenings to settle my tummy. It's just shit, hugs for you.

Good luck to everyone who's having scans today.

extracrunchy · 18/06/2013 09:23

Hot Milk looks really good but the name makes me want to barf. Something about it really grosses me out and I can't quite bring myself to investigate further!

Frizz1986 · 18/06/2013 09:29

vatta I would call ur midwife. It's what they are there for after all and it will probably be something that they regularly get calls about. I had brown spotting for a few days at 8 weeks and was told to monitor it. I obv was still freaked so paid for a private scan as knew nhs won't scan just cos i am a paranoid loon.

sultana I am very much prepared for no job for Dh. Hes a teacher so should be able to get some supply work but it might be random weeks with work and then weeks without. Think it will be our savings that keep us going next year as I really want to be able to take a year off. More feel for him as this is the 2nd time in 2 years that he has lost his job (he is a really good teacher but the schools have had lower child intakes and it's last one in first one out) and i think it kills him as he has such long hours preparing for class and he just wants to feel needed.

Anyway less sad talk and more happy stuff. Good luck for scanning people!

LittlePeaPod · 18/06/2013 09:31

On my phone and just a quick one to say MrsV good luck and my thoughts are with you. Crossing everything.

Chocco its awful. I had one of those nights the day and felt dreadful yesterday. If it helps I can totally empathise with how you are feeling. I hope it eases soon.

TobyLerone · 18/06/2013 09:36

Oh, and here is the bra fitting advice I CBA to link last night!

I'm with extra on the Hot Milk thing. Boak.

MrsVDB · 18/06/2013 09:43

Omg. They did a pregnancy test which was very faint so I thought it was all over but when they scanned me.... 8+3 so back to my proper dates and heartbeat and all is good!!!!!!! Soooo happy!!!!!!

TobyLerone · 18/06/2013 09:47

Yay! That is excellent news, MrsV :o I'm so happy for you.

MrsVDB · 18/06/2013 09:53

Thank you toby sobbed like a loon so much they had to ask me to stay still so they could take the photo. And when I came out the room the nurse in the hall asked if it was ok so she obviously heard to!! Off to work now but think ill be randomly crying all day!! Such an amazing shock!!

Naturegirl82 · 18/06/2013 10:05

congratulations mrsvdb so glad it was good news for you.

extracrunchy · 18/06/2013 10:35

Yay MrsV!! I had a feeling you'd be ok Smile

MrsGSR · 18/06/2013 10:45

MrsA, choco, flowers and anyone else still feeling rough, I hope it starts to fade soon!

Yoni Good luck for the scan! I hope you enjoy your time away :)

Re Bras, the shop assistant in mothercare (they didn't have my size) told me I shouldn't wear underwired bras as it will affect milk production. Worried DH but kind of annoyed me as I'd already said I was just looking and didn't need any help!

Frizz and Sultana I hope things start to look better money wise, you don't really need extra stress at this stage!

Vatta Hopefully it's nothing, but if you're worried in the pack the midwife gave me there is a card from Tommy's Pregnancy line (I know someone posted the number on a previous thread too) Saying "For expert advice on healthy pregnancies, talk to our midwives from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0800 0147 800" I haven't used them yet but it might be worth giving them a call if you don't want to ring your midwife?

I'm blaming bump for things Blush mainly eating, but I have also been saying 'baby doesn't want me to do the dishes' as I've been getting really light headed due to the heat!

MrsV I'm so happy for you!
