Racheld33 · 10/05/2013 15:45

Hi all
Scan was great, 30 mins of seeing my baby!
Didn't find out the sex.
Half way through he/she did a massive turn faced the 'camera' and then did what can only be described as a forwards roll in the womb! It was brilliant.

So glad both yours are well legally
Really feel like we're on the count down now!!! Smile

cherrycherry41 · 10/05/2013 15:52

Thats great rachel Smile
Cannot wait for my scan now! 9 days roofio my scan buddy! Grin
Going down to Cornwall on sunday for a week, hoping for some decent weather but looking bleak! Going to start packing this evening...

Claphammama · 10/05/2013 16:08

happy birthday roxvox!! hope everyone is spoiling you today.

and congrats on good scans legally and Rachel! must be such a relief to know what everything is OK and so lovely to see them again. We will have to wait a few more months to know your babies' sex then!

bronze glad it all looks pretty standard and OK, all considering of course. Not ideal but good to know it's nothing scary. At least, if you have any more bleeding, you will know it's nothing to do with the baby.

pseudo just caught up on the thread. sorry the job didn't work out. hope you feel OK about it.

Claphammama · 10/05/2013 16:11

"that everything is ok" not "what everything is OK". sorry for my typos but doing everything on my phone this week

Shirehobbit · 10/05/2013 16:40

Lovely scan news and reports Smile and a birthday too - hope it's been a good one, roxvox

Sparkeleigh · 10/05/2013 17:20

Happy Birthday roxvox! And great news on all the scans! I have 5 weeks to wait for mine, the suspense will drive me nuts Grin

FeministInTraining · 10/05/2013 17:23

Congratulations on all the scan news, happy day on the thread Smile

Am definitely feeling lots of movement now, feels like baby is rolling around in there in between little prods. Love it!

To those suffering from thrush, I feel your pain. A few years back I had it on and off for months. I ended up cutting out sugar and yeast from my diet for about 6 weeks- was v difficult as you don't realise how many foods contain the stuff but it worked along with lots of natural yoghurt. Might be difficult while pg and trying to eat balanced as it cuts stuff out but I guess cutting out sweet drinks/cakes and anything else that tastes nice might work. Apologies for patronising if you already know all this or have tried it. Sending Flowers

FeministInTraining · 10/05/2013 17:24

Happy birthday roxvox Grin

Tarlia · 10/05/2013 17:29

Happy birthday, rox. Only 3 more day to go now really for our scans! Whoop!

Congrats on the scans, legally and rachel. 3 little surprise bundles.

Sorry to hear about your polyp (off to google what that is..) but so pleased baby is ok and it's not something to be concerned about in that respect.

Today's other scanners, looking forward to reading your news!

Nat how is your husband now? Have you tried speaking to CAB re some kind of money help? He may be able to claim some sort of incapacity benifit while he is unable to work?

clap glad you are having a lovely holiday and getting extra sleep in!

First time mummy's, sleep sleep and sleep some more!! When you arnt sleeping (or working) do things you couldnt easily with baby - cinema, romantic meals etc although these things wont vanish, it may be a while before you have the energy or feel ready to leave pfb with anyone else. I wish I'd listened to this advice before having DS.

I cannot believe we are almost through this thread! We've only had a couple of scans so far, so much for it getting us through :D

funkky · 10/05/2013 18:17

Scan ok, baby great and its a boy!!! ( now to think of baby names). Very detailed sonographer and showed us every part of the baby explaining what each was for like 30 minutes. Slept for a good 3 hours as soon as I got back must have been so tired and not getting enough rest from worry.

Placenta is quite low but that can be common at this stage but booked for another scan at 34 weeks to check its changed.

Thanks ladies and all the best to us all as we waddle match through the remaining half of pregnancy!

Sephy · 10/05/2013 18:26

Hooray, funkky, and you were right!

Racheld33 · 10/05/2013 18:37

funkky that is brilliant news! Little boys are the best (biased mum!) but I found boys names so hard!!! So glad all well x x x

Natalieand · 10/05/2013 18:45

Yay for all the positive scan news and another baby boy to add to the group :-) was there someone keeping a tally of boys/girls?

Thanks for asking tarlia dh was discharged from hospital as the scans suggested the infection wasn't deep enough to warrant surgery and risking further infection so he had a few days worth of intravenous anti biotics and is home from hospital on oral ones now and went back to work today so I popped into the council with said sick notes from the hospital and they basically told me they won't do anything to help us and we have to make do. It's only 2 weeks worth of money we miss out on overall bit still 2 weeks is 2 weeks and if we could easily loose two weeks money a month then dh wouldn't work all the hours under the sun as it is.

Good luck on the name front funkky dh and I are having a boy this time and dd is called honey and we are really struggling for names I like Kyle and dh doesn't and we both quite like Louie but I still have 22 weeks to go so a lot can change in that time

I'm having a housing predicament. We're currently in a decent sized 2 bed house, and were eering towards renting a 3 bed through a letting agent but my mum thinks I'm mad moving unnecessarily whilst pregnant and having a toddler and paying extra rent for a room I won't be using until probly this time next year and thinks we're best of making the most of what we have now and moving next summer when we will archly NEED a 3 bed house...... Opinions welcome please :-)

Oh also one other thing, how is everyone's weight gain? I'm 17+4 and I just weighed myself I've gained 6lbs so far x

Flyer747 · 10/05/2013 19:36

Congrats to the scanning ladies, great news!

Natalie, we are also in a 2 bedroom place, and as much as I love it, and like your place it's a good size (it was DP bachelor pad before he met me) we decided to move to a bigger place pre baby, we have bought a 4 bedroom house and I love the fact that it has a utility room! Simple things...I just wanted to be settled and not have to move with a small baby in tow....do what is best for you and your family.

pinkbuttons · 10/05/2013 19:39

Just checking in after a crazy busy day and so happy to hear good news!

Happy Birthday roxvox, Hope your shopping trip was successful and youve had a lovely day.
Congratulations to all the positive scans today, really great news and lovely to see you're having a boy funky

Glad your home and all ok bronze sounds stressful to have another thing to worry about but Im glad all is ok with baby, and at least now if you do have a panicky moment with bleeding you will have some reassurance of knowing what it is, although definitely sill vent on here.

natalie funny you should ask about moving, weve spent our day looking at houses...
DH currently commutes for 90 minutes and we live in a 2 bedroom house so weve decided to move closer to his work and look for 3 bedroom in the process. Is scary to be moving so far away from everything I know but we've decided to do it whilst Im pregnant as theres only 1 child to contend with and one lot of childrens "stuff" to take with us. means I cant help with the lifting but Im not complaining about that Grin Thats just our plan but maybe were crazy for doing so. Moving in June so wont be too huge... hopefully.
Anyway we found a house we like today so all very exciting.

Natalieand · 10/05/2013 19:46

I moved house at 39 weeks pregnant with dd pink its deffo doable we even painted the whole house and she came at 39+5 lol

Tarlia · 10/05/2013 19:49

Congrats funky. Agree, little boys are scrummy but I too had naming difficulties. DS was baby for his first 5 weeks of life but naming is complicated since we are a bilingual family.

Nat thank goodness he didn't need more surgery and will hopefully heal much quicker than he would have. Cross that there is no monitary help for people in your situation! So many exploit the tax payers money but when a hard worker needs help there is nothing? So wrong!
Re moving; really I'm with your mum. No point paying for technically a spare room for the 6months to a year. If this is to do with the fact baby is a boy, really DD nor DS will care! I actually shared with my brother for a while and we liked it, there was 5 years did between us and we've never really been close. I can't remember the reason now as we actually were in a 3 bed house, but a room buddy was nice. My advice would be to make effort to save that extra money monthly that you would spend on that third bedroom - in a year you'll be thankful for it and may be happy not to move for a while still, but enjoy a lovely holiday with it or buy something special for the kids for their room.

Those with PIH, not fun at all. You may find its lower this time though as your body knows more about your DPs sperm, genetics and babies. Hopefully we won't have and preeclampsia on this bus (including me!!)!

Tarlia · 10/05/2013 19:52

Grr small typos- sorry, damn iPhone auto correct.

Haylebop12 · 10/05/2013 20:00

natalie were also in a two bed and we rent. No three beds come up in the area we want to be hence why we took this on knowing I was pregnant. We did it to be in the catchment area as dd starts school September. The plan is to stay here for 12-18 months. Dd's room is not big enough for baby too so will be with us until we move. Our lease is due to be renewed in September hence why were just going to deal with it. Why don't you have baby and see how you get on before making any decisions?

Haylebop12 · 10/05/2013 20:01

Damn posted to early!

Congrats to all today's scanees.

I banged my tummy today at work so just settling down now in the hope baby will move to prevent panic setting in.

pinkbuttons · 10/05/2013 20:04

Wow natalie that's impressive, glad to hear it can be done, we moved when I was pregnant with DS but only when I was in the first trimester, didn't lift anything heavy but we weren't moving far, this time its to a whole new city where I don't know anyone and Ill admit Im a bit scared :/ but it all makes sense. and house is really lovely Smile Forgot to say before but Im really glad your DH is on the mend and didn't need more surgery, what a stressful time.
After not having put on any weight last week at 18 weeks, weighed myself this morning and have put on 2 lbs this week (19 weeks tomorrow) part happy that obviously baby is growing, partly terrified this is going to be the start of me gaining ridiculous amounts like with DS. I really need to try and stay sensible and not obsess...

Wickedgirl · 10/05/2013 20:17

I am 18+2 and have put on 7pounds.

Natalie I moved when I was 38 weeks pregnant and ds came 4 days later. Why do we out ourselves through it? I was enormous and couldn't help much at all. My job was to keep our 2 older children out of the way for the day (then aged 5 and 3)

roofio87 · 10/05/2013 20:43

Hehe, my nephew (3.5 yrs) and niece (8 months) are staying for the night. normally have their own rooms but nephew just declared that he likes sleeping in same room as his sister and would like to do it at home so some kids obviously like sharing!!
I've put on 4 pounds so far!!

MotherOfNations · 10/05/2013 20:55

I've still not had a date for my scan Natalie. Perhaps they're holding off unt my full amnio results are in. I hope we don't have to wait much longer.
If I've not heard anything by Wednesday I'll phone them.
I'm absolutely massive now but then I have been eating a lot of rubbish. I've put on a stone so far. I really need to try and control my eating or I'm going to have loads of weight to lose when baby arrives.
