Lovely to hear about your scan falcon

I went to get my results from the doctor and she said I am slightly anemic I also still have low blood pressure and at that point slightly low blood sugar (it was a lil while since breakfast and was due lunch). She said that she wasn't worried as I'm slim and its quite common during pregnancy anyway. I've always had good bp. Is anyone else in the same boat? I feel a bit useless because I'm taking it easy and eating well still taking pregnacare drinking loads of water and I still have low blood pressure :(

Slippysnow · 09/05/2013 16:03

Also falcon I saw on my notes I have an anterior placenta mw didn't tell me during my 12 week scan, thought it might have been spoken about

Claphammama · 09/05/2013 16:11

rain and cold..?? I'm not coming back!!

ana sorry you are feeling so sick and I know you feel guilty but you shouldn't. I felt the same when I had to be signed off for a week last week, right before my week long holidays. But you can't plan these things and yes, so easy to pick up stuff when you are pregnant and it also takes ages to get over it. Your baby and your health are most important.

warlin I don't know how other people really do it... probably the same as us... being pregnant when having another active little one to look after and working full or almost full time is absolutely and utterly exhausting... can't think of anyone who would find it to be otherwise.

On the comedy note, I had my usual morning coughing attack today and - as I coughed - I vomited all over DP's smart evening jacket hanging on the chair. I just didn't see it coming... what was it - "coughomit"? he wasn't impressed but had to laugh. Sort of like a scene from The Alien! someone else mentioned being sick as they were blowing their nose?

I wonder how "badger"s interview went...

Bronzemoth · 09/05/2013 17:02

pseudo sounds like a busy day, hope it all went well.

I'm still in the Epu at the Whittington. The baby seems fine but it turns out I have a cervical polyp - sexy! Doesn't seem to be super serious but because I had a colposcopy after a few irregular smears they are being a bit more cautious. Just waiting to see the consultant at the moment for a final decision I think about whether to remove it now or just wait.

textbook · 09/05/2013 18:31

Mine's not till 4:25 - I'll be so impatient by then!

Are you finding out what you're having?

Natalieand · 09/05/2013 19:02

I had a laugh catching up on marking books this afternoon. Children had to predict how Florence Nightingale travelled to the Crimea, one thought rockets would have been the most likely way to cross the sea and drew Florence packed to three rockets. Then describing hospitals before and after Florence came, another illustrated his with a picture of Florence with a speech bubble saying "OMG!" at all the blood and filth. Made me chuckle to see coming from a 5 year old.

Was meant to be doing pizza for dinner but the bases, unopened and bbe June, are mouldy grrr. Cupboard raiding time.

Looking forward to hearing another round of scan news. Mine isn't until 21 1/2 weeks even though the sonographer recommended 19 weeks at the 12 week scan because there were no appointments at all before then :(

chickieno1 · 09/05/2013 19:55

Hope you feel better soon ana and hope they decide about the polyp ASAP bronze

Have work conference this evening and all day fri and sat don't know how I'm going to sit around inside for that long! At least dh is being really good and says he ll look after ds for the next couple of days :)

PseudoBadger · 09/05/2013 20:21

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts but unfortunately I didn't get the job :(
But my consultant appointment was good, heard the heartbeat which was lovely and was booked in for a Doppler scan at 24 weeks and told to take aspirin (due to my PIH with DS).

Bronze, sorry to hear they found a polyp, hope you're sorted out soon x

GTbaby · 09/05/2013 20:37

Slippy. I've had slightly low blood pressure constantly. And in last pregnancy. Also I'm anaemic. Ur doing well taking ur vitamins. I've been shit I was given iron. But it blocked me up. N with my SPD pain meds blocking me up more I had to drop them for a bit Blush

Carry on eating well n taking vitamins. They will do another set of bloods later on so you have time to up ur iron levels through food! Iron pills are evil.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 09/05/2013 20:37

slippysnow yes me I have very low blood pressure and did have all through my last pregnancy too. Mine is always low anyway and being pregnant makes it lower. Just make sure you eat regularly and don't stand up in a hurry as you'll get dizzy. On the whole low blood pressure is good, much better than high Smile

Sephy · 09/05/2013 21:11

Badger, what's PIH? I've been prescribed aspirin too and I think it's to do with preventing per eclampsia but I'm not really sure...

PseudoBadger · 09/05/2013 21:34

Sorry, pregnancy induced hypertension

Natalieand · 09/05/2013 21:50

I too have been prescribed aspirin for high blood pressure as I was with my last pregnancy I think it's 75mg a day? Is that the same as u badger

OP posts:
PseudoBadger · 09/05/2013 21:56

Yep 75 a day

PseudoBadger · 09/05/2013 21:56

Have either of you been given an extra Doppler scan for blood flow at 24 weeks?

Natalieand · 09/05/2013 21:59

No I haven't badger I had one of those scans in my last pregnancy though its meant to predict how likely u are to go into premature labour based on the blood flow through the cord if I remember correctly. I have growths scans already booked for 28 and 34 weeks though. And I have to see the midwife fortnightly from 28 weeks for blood pressure checks but Last pregnancy it was weekly I think it's cos this time my bp doesn't seem as high xxx

PseudoBadger · 09/05/2013 22:18

Thanks Natalie, I was surprised to be given an extra scan!

funkky · 10/05/2013 05:58

Hi all been a while I have posted and was determined to read every single post so being catching up for days now.

GT I woke up yesterday barely able to walk, think cause I did loads of standing, cooking, cleaning day b4, but today I feel a lot better. Saw a private and another NHS physio in early preg for SPD but both just gave me exercises and tips. I def agree with pillow btwn legs, can't sleep without it now.

Also saw house yesterday that we will finally ( after convincing DH, its worth going a bit over budget) be making an offer on today....

20 week scan today and sooooo happy it's here, we'll be finding out sex etc its at 10.10 am and wondering what to eat to get baby in right mood position!

Sephy · 10/05/2013 06:24

Pleased you've got some ways of making the SPD better funky, hope it lasts.

Jealous of you guys with the extra scan for the Doppler (I think!). I've got a note in my maternity notes that they need to do it at my 20 week one. Always nice to see baby! Thanks for spelling out PIH, I'm a bit slow but that makes semse! Mine's the same except it's always high - just seemed a bit higher earlier on.

Hope any scans today go well x

Sephy · 10/05/2013 06:27

Sorry funkky hadn't realised yours was today - how exciting!!

No advice on the eating front, but really hope s/he cooperates for you. Do you have any feeling which it might be?

PseudoBadger · 10/05/2013 06:53

They are doing cervical length at my 20 week scan; the doctor yesterday said the Doppler should be around 24 weeks

Sephy · 10/05/2013 07:01

Maybe I'll get a bonus one too then!

JellyCurls · 10/05/2013 07:25
