Ah ha flyer that night explain it then!

Umlauf · 08/05/2013 18:30

Ahh just received our third late September wedding invitation. Soooo gutted. I love weddings and NEVER get invited to any. They all come along at once and the baby gets in the way! :-(

In other news... Pretty sure the fluttering s aren't wind!!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 08/05/2013 19:26

I live an hour away from a mc Donald's but I would really really like one now! Am making duck salad for tea in an attempt to be healthy.
How did the scan go pink? Did you find out boy or girl?

ananikifo · 08/05/2013 20:15

Our pram came! I put it together (I'm the one that assembles things in our house) and practiced folding it and adjusting it. We tried to put our two year-old neighbour in it and he kept trying to show us his own pushchair, then his dad put him in the seat of ours and he kind of whimpered until he was allowed to get out. I hope our baby likes it a bit more than that!

I also got some tops I had ordered. One of them is a maternity/nursing top. You should have seen DH's face when I showed him the slits that you can bf through!

Then I went inside and ate half a bag of starburst candy and felt the baby move again! Grin

So all in all a good day.

Slippysnow · 08/05/2013 20:27

What pram was it? How exciting all round - maybe not for your little neighbour ;)

ananikifo · 08/05/2013 20:35

It's a mamas and papas sola in red. I love it! We remembered how to fold it and move the seat around, which I'm happy about. We didn't get any accessories, as we will be buying those individually, as needed, either on sale or used.

34PinkLadyApple · 08/05/2013 21:00

Can u see the pic on my profile?

ananikifo · 08/05/2013 21:02

Yes I can see the pic! He or she looks so much clearer than in the earlier picture!

Wickedgirl · 08/05/2013 21:14

It's all getting more real now isn't it? What with movements and scans that look like babies rather than little aliens. We are all getting closer to the half way mark

roofio87 · 08/05/2013 21:43

so happy for you pinklady

the exciting news here is that day 2 of my new omprazole tablets I have had absolutely no heart burn all day and evening. I can't believe it. id normally be sipping gaviscon from the bottle crying in a corner about now. I'm made up, would recommend anyone with heart burn asking their gp to try it!!

Sparkeleigh · 08/05/2013 22:34

Congrats on the scan pinklady! And glad to hear the heartburn is better roofio!

My midwife appointment was a bit of a letdown. I honestly swear my last midwife told me to book in for 15 weeks and they'd go though the anomaly tests and explain what will happen but this midwife very nicely told me off for coming too early and said she wouldn't listen for a heartbeat in case she couldn't find it and that would worry me.

She didn't mention any anomaly stuff until I asked at the end and said they wont do tests as I'm below 35 and as they don't seem to do the nucal fold measurement in NI I'm pretty much in the dark until the 20wk scan, which will actually be 21 weeks! Aargh!

On the either hand she said there was a late flu outbreak and I got the flu jab, so Warlin if you're reading this that's something that might affect you too... Oh and she went and got one of the Drs to write me a prescription for hay fever tablets which will be a life saver!

She was very nice and really helpful but I wish the first midwife hadn't been so definite about coming in week 15!

TheFalconsmistress · 08/05/2013 22:35

Really sad and angry My 6,4 20st father smacked my DS when they were on holiday. My ds hit him so he got smacked some would say fair enough but not in my book. My dad hit me for every reason possible when i was a kid but i hoped it would not follow on to my son. Sad

He dropped him off said he was hard work shook his head and walked away Sad

Btw 34pink great news on the scan!

OrangeBlossom2 · 08/05/2013 22:37

Oh no falcon! Did you say how you felt or were you too shocked?

roofio87 · 08/05/2013 22:43

oh falcon that's terrible. anyone who would think that's fair enough is crazy. besides, how does smacking him back teach him its not ok to hit people?! hope ur both ok x

TheFalconsmistress · 08/05/2013 22:44

Did not find out till ds got home Sad Knowing my dads nature and his attitude when dropping him off i asked Ds if he got a smacked bum he said yes in the shop grandad did because he hit him. He said they said he was cheeky too, he really is not a cheeky kid he is very polite in fact with everyone normally but i know my parents version of cheek is just not agreeing straight away i really hoped it would be different with DS. AT the end of the day he is a 4yr old who tantrums when he does not get what he wants me and DH know how to talk to him we normally explain he has already had a toy or we don't have pennies for it or he does not need it as he has toys at home etc not smack him :(

Sparkeleigh · 08/05/2013 22:56

Oh no Falcon, that's awful! He's only 4! I remember my cousin having a meltdown and hitting and kicking my granda, my granda just held him so he couldn't hurt him until he calmed down, that's how it should be handled, not by hitting back!! Hugs to you both.

Claphammama · 08/05/2013 22:57

Hi girls. Just caught up on the thread and all the news!
Congrats on all the good scans and check ups! Time flies. Was good to see you and all your bumps on Facebook! thanks again for setting it up gt baby. Are you feeling better today?

Natalie how is your husband?

falcon so sorry to hear this and I know how you feel... my mother brought me up shouting. Shouting for everything, always neurotic... and just when I forgot it after all these years, I saw her doing he same with DS. I got so angry. I remember how her constant shouting affected me when I was small and didn't want her to be the same with DS. But I really don't think they don't know how to change at this stage... is your DS OK?

Just read all your conversations about cravings... I've had so much food over the last few days, it's ridiculous. So much sugar with all the baklavas and Turkish delight...

I'm 16+1 today and think beginning to feel something. It's more like occasional localised pressure in some points... something pushing me ever so gently from the inside. must be the little one... very subtle at this stage though.

Having these very rare few days without DS is amazing... I love him to bits but I also loved waking up at midday today (10am UK time so not as bad as it sounds!) needed this rest much. Won't be possible once we have two :-)

hope you are still enjoying some sun in the UK?

Bronzemoth · 08/05/2013 23:30

Orange Still no more bleeding which is great. Just blasted ligament pain now but without the bleeding I'm taking a this as being normal. And Still have the scan tomorrow for final reassurance.
