Just starting a new thread as we're starting to run out of room on the first. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1716486-December-2013#38680515

Weechops - hope your DS is better soon, i really hate it when mine is ill as feel so powerless to help him. He's had a few D&V episodes and GP keeps suggesting sodding Dioralyte - the one thing I couldn't bribe him to take!

Have booked an early scan for 18th May, now just counting the days to then...

If anyone hasn't already looked, Isabella Oliver is fab for maternity basics - the jersey tops and dresses are ££ but they wash well and last even post birth as the jersey justs pings back into shape. Hold their value pretty well on eBay too. I still wear the ruched t-shirts now and DS is 2.5

Ok the boobs are now just ridiculous. Already gone from 36f to 36g ( two cup sizes as there is ff). Now the twins are busting out of those bras. Reckon I'm another two cup sizes now up to an h. God knows what will happen when I'm breast feeding. I'm scared...

Anyone else with ever increasing boobies?

MildredH · 01/05/2013 07:31

Slight increase Lady but to be honest, at a 34b you're grateful for any extra you get! What's more, it's slightly helping to balance my burgeoning gut! I imagine its much more of a pain in the arse for you.. My sympathy!

Penguinita · 01/05/2013 07:46

That's quite a jump Lady! My bras are really hurting now, I can't wait to get them off when I come home from work. So I'm off to M and S to get some bigger, comfy, frumpy, non under wired scaffolding this weekend. I'll get measured up to assess the degree of expansion!

featherbag · 01/05/2013 08:03

Think it went ok Mildred - with baby brain + tiredness + nerves I did actually forget what I was saying halfway through a sentence but think I covered ok! You can never tell with interviews though I find. Will find out next week, trying to put it out of my mind for now, which obviously isn't going to work!

MildredH · 01/05/2013 09:12

Glad it went ok- hope maybe gave you distraction for a day!

Are you being re-scanned soon? Hope the enforced leave not driving you too bonkers and that you've seen a bit of sun!

TakingTheStairs · 01/05/2013 10:27

weechops sorry your DS is so poorly, and with your DH being away too that has got to be really tough :( Poor you.

Re-scan tomorrow morning, can't wait, kinda feel like I'm stuck on 'pause' til I know everything's ok!

Holly1977 · 01/05/2013 12:28

Just confirmed my first midwife appointment for next Friday which I'm insanely excited about now! I'll be nearly 8 weeks by then. I've decided to definitely pay for an early scan if the NHS won't give me one before 12 weeks, there's just NO WAY I can wait that long!

Re clothes, I'm really digging high waisted trousers and jeans at the moment. They seem to be working for me, I feel it's way too early for maternity clothes. I don't want to tempt fate and I don't want to have to buy more than one set, though I don't know if that's realistic or not. I found some great trousers which are massive now but will be great later on in a charity shop. Got a nice top too which will be great for later and one which will fit me for about another 2 weeks but was too nice to resist. All for about £10! So why not try charity shops ladies? You can get some great stuff for next to nothing and if they don't fit you for long, no problem!

Anyone else farting a lot?! Not sure if it's the lactulose that's causing it, being pregnant or my colitis but I am farting ALL the time now! DF is just going to have get used to it because there's no bloody way I'm getting up and leaving the room every time I fart for the next 7 or so months!

Finding it quite weird having to eat regularly, including breakfast. I've never bothered much with breakfast and have skipped meals in the past, just out of laziness really. But I've definitely noticed that I have to eat and drink regularly now.

Anyone having cravings yet? I haven't particularly apart from crisps but I think it was probably just the salt I wanted as I don't have much salt in my diet normally.

readyornot2011 · 01/05/2013 12:58

Good luck with the job and the re-scan feather.

I'm craving salt too, but that's nothing unusual tbh.

DH and I had a conversation about anti-natal depression last night. He brought it up, Sad

I'm hoping its just one of those vicious circle things. Super-tired so naturally a bit glum, feel sicky and rubbish all day so don't achieve much, then feel even more miserable about not doing anything. Anyway, I know I'm not myself. I know I wasn't like this last time, maybe because I was working (which was tough) but kept me occupied.

Doesn't make sense we have been through so many things over the years to get to here and I've been the strong and positive one and now we are finally 'living the dream' and I can barely motivate myself to get off the sofa.

Anyway we are off back to England for the weekend so we agreed to see how things were when we get home. DH is a star (mostlyWink).

QueenofWhispers · 01/05/2013 13:33

So I had a bit of a scare yesterday.

I went to the bathroom and quite a lot of bright red blood was seen by me.

I decided to stay calm (which just means I was in shock) and had lunch before I went to A&E. Went there--no one cared. The doctor told me it was either an MC or not. (well, I could have guesses as much). I really just wanted to be referred to the epu but wasn't....

Then I texted my mother, mil and the rest of our family who all happen to be doctors...and within minutes of speaking to A&E doctor I was taken upstairs for a reassurance scan.

Then later I met with my consultant and I think I'm going to be kind of happy with hershe does look exactly like my mother...only she seem's to be far more tactful and has a better attitude. (my motheras much as I love her--is also quite evil).

Holly1977 · 01/05/2013 14:17

Well done for handling it so calmly Queen, I take it the scan was ok then? I despair of the NHS these days, I really do. So glad I've got insurance if anything goes wrong.

Sorry to hear things are crap at the mo ready. Be kind to yourself. You're growing a whole new person inside you, don't beat yourself up because you're not doing as much as you "should" be, whatever that is. This is something I've only just got the hang of recently. I always used to set myself loads of tasks then give myself a hard time if I didn't get them all done. I'm really grateful I've kicked that habit now cos being pg is bloody knackering! Do what you can, bollocks to the rest :-)

readyornot2011 · 01/05/2013 15:12

Thanks Holly, I do usually write myself a to do list over breakfast and usually I enjoy ticking (almost) everything off but the past few days even getting out of the house has been a struggle.

Anyway today DD and I went for a lovely mayday walk and picnic with some friends and now I'm 'being kind to myself' (watching box set) before picking in-laws up again. I'm hardly put upon workload wise! So mostly a good day.

Whispers, sorry you went through that, I take it the scan was fine?

NomDeClavier · 01/05/2013 15:35

Ready if you do have AND, or suspect that you do, seek help sooner rather than later. Having suffered horribly last time (and PND as well) it's not worth burying your head in the sand over. Do you have a good mutuelle? One of the few things I love about the French system is how easy it is to access specialists as long as your mutuelle covers you and they take depression seriously.

Still at the hospital but DS is doing better, despite getting annoyed with all the tubes and wires. He was pleading with me to get out of bed at 6 this morning Hmm I was much less keen.

I've definitely noticed and increase in morning bleurghness this pregnancy. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping it doesn't get too much worse!

Holly1977 · 01/05/2013 16:00

Then make getting out of the house an achievement. I've got a big DIY project on at the mo and have had to had a major rethink about my capabilities. I took some boards and lino to the tip the other day, filled the car up so quite a lot. But I took my time with it, was careful etc. And was absolutely frigging knackered for the rest of the day when I got back. Normally I'd have done something like that in an hour then cracked on with some other stuff when I got in. Things aren't normal cos we're pregnant :-) I have ideas about what I'd like to get done but if I don't, that's fine too. God knows who people who already have kids cope with being pg!

Am being a right pig today, haven't stopped eating. Just eaten 2 chocolate bars back to back. Actually had to leave the office to go buy chocolate cos I couldn't stand the craving any more! Grapes just aren't the same. Am slightly worried at times about getting fat as exercising has all but disappeared too (my yoga teacher won't let me go to class for the 1st trimester and I never seem to find the time) but 99% of what I eat is healthy so hopefully it'll be ok...

I have done no work today, can't concentrate at all. My brain seems to be stuck on a "baby, baby, baby" loop!

5ammy · 01/05/2013 16:05

My Doppler came today! I had I have ago. No baby heartbeat yet - although I'd have been shocked info had heard him so soon.

ccsays · 01/05/2013 16:27

Got my first scan tomorrow at seven weeks (think I said before, they think I'm further along because they don't seem to believe that I could not have a twenty eight day cycle). Know I should be excited, but I just feel worried about everything being ok. Blush

ccsays · 01/05/2013 16:33

Also, I might have resorted to doing free online tarot readings about my pregnancy for reassurance because I am a crazy person.

MildredH · 01/05/2013 16:39

Ooh 5ammy- I've thought about a Doppler.. Have you hired or bought? Do you mind me asking where from?

5ammy · 01/05/2013 20:19

Mildred - I bought one off eBay - was less then £25 inc delivery.

LadyMedea · 01/05/2013 20:26

Is it weird that I got my appointment letter for my 20 week scan but not one for my 12 week scan?

Seeing midwife for booking tomorrow so will find out what's what. Still think its odd though.

twinklestar2 · 01/05/2013 23:03

Just popping in from the conception boards to say congratulations to weechops :)

And to all of you too :)

twinklestar2 · 01/05/2013 23:09

Wee I just realised I congratulated you already at the beginning if last month. Seems so long ago! Sorry for threadbutting!!

featherbag · 02/05/2013 08:27

Well, back in EPU waiting room. Again. This is like Groundhog Day.

PistachioTruffle · 02/05/2013 08:35

Thinking of you feather, hope it goes well x
