Hey winkle thank you again Grin

Thanks everyine for asking after ds. He is on the mend at last :)

Feather thinking of you today x

Holly1977 · 02/05/2013 09:16

Just noticed a tiny bit of blood when I went to the loo. Absolutely NOT going to panic. I work with doctors so am going to ask my colleague what she thinks when she gets here. If it carries on I might go up to the hospital after work this afternoon, should finish around 3pm today. Got some tummy twinges but nothing different to what I've already been having for the past few days.

featherbag · 02/05/2013 09:29

Holly, I'd see about getting referred to the early pregnancy unit for a scan, even just for reassurance, but no point heading to the hospital without a referral as you'd likely just spend ages sitting waiting.

All ok here, 8+3 which puts my due date back to 9th December. Still have a haematoma behind the sac which may bleed more, but at least I know and can be slightly prepared!

Holly1977 · 02/05/2013 09:35

Thanks feather, how do I get a referral then? Should I phone my midwife?

That's good news :-)

QuietNinjaTardis · 02/05/2013 09:42

Hey weechops, I'm glad your ds is on the mend. Hope everyone is ok.
I'm still the same, booking in took ages. I forgot how many questions they ask. Midwife seems nice though which is good.
Dh is being very grumpy with me and lost his temper with ds and took away half his toys yesterday. Really getting me down. He's doing a lot as working (from home) and we have sold our house so he's dealing with all that but my god I wish he'd stop taking it out on me. I'm useless at the minute but there's a damn good reason for that and he's too used to me being able to do everything. Really fed up.

featherbag · 02/05/2013 09:45

Holly give your MW a ring, she should be able to sort it for you. Ninja I know what you mean, my DH seems to either be super-helpful and attentive or super-grumpy and bad tempered. I doubt I'm the easiest person to live with at the moment but I do wish he'd pack it in!

Holly1977 · 02/05/2013 10:10

Right, my GP has arranged for me to go to the hospital tomorrow morning for a fanny scan... Think it was touch and go whether they'd see me cos I'm only 7 weeks ish but sounds like she talked them round. No idea what I'm going to do about work yet but don't really care. Just been for a wee and no blood so I am going to be positive, I'm sure it'll fine. So what can you tell from a fanny scan?

5ammy · 02/05/2013 10:34

'Fanny Scan'? Is that a technical term? I have all sorts of images in my head - last time someone scanned my fanny I ended up in this state! (Sorry).

I have fingers crossed it'll all be fine whatever it is Holly.

kyz1981 · 02/05/2013 10:38

Holly -I have had quite a few in previous PG and at 6.5-7 weeks you stand a very good chance on seeing something- They may even try abdominal first - so make sure you drink a bit - I had both they started abdominal found the baby then went vaginal to hear the heart beat and get measurements.

Feather - so pleased you have had good scan.

Quiet - I am really really fed up of being sick- I really wanted to enjoy this pg as all going well it will be my last, but feel rough as hell and am fast running out of drinks that don't make me gag, that coupled with tiredness and a 2yr old and 3 yr old - has tipped my hormones in to the pregnant women from hell- my DH has just kept very busy and brings me home foods/drinks every day in the hope he can find something that I can keep down.

Managed to get some maternity stuff from H&M and then went and got some pretty tops and a cardigan in a bigger size from white stuff - That cheered me up- but was shocked at how little maternity things the high street had.

Going to have to chase up my Midwife she only works and Tues/Weds - not really bothered about my booking appointment atm but I want my 12 week scan booked in as need to have it done by 13 weeks 4 days and I will be 10 weeks on Sunday.

Really starting to show now thanks to weak muscles and bloating - keep getting really odd looks from the nursery- Just waiting to see who has the guts to mention anything!

Hope everyone has a good day x

Holly1977 · 02/05/2013 11:25

yes, fanny scan is the technical term and that's what the gp said, honest! Thanks guys, hopefully this will turn out to be a blessing in that I'm having an early scan and bean is absolutely fine. So glad I've been meditating recently and doing self work on controlling anxious and panicky thoughts. I suspect tonight will be a long night though!... Feeling a bit achey and periody but that's not the first time that's happened so I'm staying positive.

FluffyDucky · 02/05/2013 11:38

Having a crap day today at work. Nearly puked in front if a customer, & feel like blurgh. Nobody helped me with the delivery until the manager asked me how I was (staff dont know) but I know it won't be done. Feel like crying today & just giving up. Can today be over phrase?

ccsays · 02/05/2013 12:55

Had my first scan, I'm much less further along than they thought (in your face, patronising midwife!) which puts me at 6 weeks and 1 day. It also changes my due date to Christmas Day! DP wants to call the baby Jesus 2 Hmm

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish FluffyDucky. I had a day like that about a week ago, burst into tears at my work and got taken off shift, very embarrassing. Any chance they let you go home a bit earlier today?

toni1bump · 02/05/2013 13:06

Hellloooo!!!! Thought id invite myself into the thread! ;).. Im Toni, due 2nd Dec with first baby :) x

13loki · 02/05/2013 16:04

Arrrgh. Took a class to the sexual health clinic for a talk, sat in a coffee shop for half an hour then went for a quick walk. Ended up vomiting into my hands in the middle of town. Luckily before I picked up my class.

FluffyDucky · 02/05/2013 16:04

Thanks cc, I felt a bit better after I'd eaten. Just in a but of a grump today. Sadly I help close up the shop so no going early for me! And it's so beautiful outside :(

Iris1 · 02/05/2013 16:09

Hi sorry haven't posted on here for ages.
Had a stressful time recently with DS being poorly and a few trips to A&E.
Wondering if anyone can tell me how long it was after they saw gp/local midwife that they received scan date from hospital? I had a gp appointment 9 days ago and she did paper referral that day - really hoped I would have heard by now especially as gp agreed OK could now be anything between 9-14 weeks and need to see someone :(

featherbag · 02/05/2013 16:13

Well I'm sitting chuckling at myself after crying at a bus driver. Decided to walk halfway home with DS in buggy, then go to the park and bus home from there. But first bus had a buggy and a wheelchair user on, fair enough. Second bus had 2 buggies on. Third bus pulled out as I got to the bus stop (I was having to run between 2 stops as there are 2 buses I could catch, main road between the stops), and there was loads of room on that one and the driver definitely saw me! Fourth bus had school kids stood in the buggy bays, and the arsehole of a driver wouldn't ask them to go and sit in the many empty seats, but just shrugged at me and drive off. By the time this bus pulled up I was in tears and cried at the driver when I saw there was room for me and DS!

violetbean · 02/05/2013 17:52

Argh feather how frustrating! Sounds like you're amazingly strong, I would have been crying at the second one!

Iris, it took at least 2 weeks, if not 3, for my letter to come through. I've had to rearrange the scan as the first one was due to be on a day when I have 2 unchangeable work meetings which will take up the whole day and my DFIL is having a major operation that morning. The clinic were really nice though and it's now booked for a much calmer day!

Anyone taking DHA/fish oil capsules? Do you find they make you feel more nauseous? Any advice?

FluffyDucky · 02/05/2013 20:21

I like eggs normally but there is something very satisfying about munching on a hard boiled egg, filling too. Think I might boil a few & stick then un a tub in the fridge for a quick snack Grin

yogafan · 02/05/2013 20:55

I like pickled eggs...

AuroraOrtiz · 03/05/2013 07:19

Hi there, please could I join? My dd is 21st December ( it's my first). Am bit nervous as mc'd last summer - the doctors advised me to get a scan when I'm 7 weeks so will go to the Epu next week. Bit scared, but am trying to think positively!

froubylou · 03/05/2013 07:24

Morning ladies. Newbie here!

Have been luring for a few days and decided to join, mainly to have something to do at 3am when I am wide awake. This is my second pregnancy and I think I am due on 24/12 so a christmas baby! My eldest daughter is 8 so been a while since I was up the duff.

I am thrilled and terrified in equal measures lol. Its taken us 3 years to get pregnant and we had more or less given up. Now I am I have found Google my friend and my foe. Last time I didn't have t'internet access and just had the usual books from the docs. Now I know allsorts of terrifying things that can happen. Wish I had never read anything.

Due to see midwife on 14/05/13. Not sure if I am a bit further on that 7+3. I am huge. My boobs are huge. My lower tummy feels like cement whilst my upper tummy sticks out a mile. And I wasn't a skinny minnie (size 14) before I got pregnant so its not as if I had a washboard tummy (except in my dreams) before I got pregnant!

I also have a craving for anchoivies, prawn cocktail crisps, huge plates of pasta with tomato sauce and anchovies and chips and gravy. No wonder my tummy is sticking out! Its not bubba its blubber.

I was so hungry at 3.30am I got up and had a mini roll.

Anyways have a good day all. Off to M & S for some new bra's this morning, Matalan for some more stretchy jeggings in a size 16 and Morrisons for the Big Shop. Which is getting bigger every week!

LadyMedea · 03/05/2013 07:34

Hey violet I take DHA as I'm vegetarian and don't get much otherwise. Make sure you take them with food but I'd be surprised if that was making you sick unless you take them by the handful.

I've got annual leave today as my parents are visiting. I have a cue of cats trying to sit next to me in bed!

yogafan · 03/05/2013 08:01

Welcome newbies!

Violet, I take fish oil and it definitely makes me feel sick. I always take with food, and try to be relatively still while it goes down and settles (jiggling on a bus makes me vom). I find lots of liquid seems to make the sicky feeling worse so I don't drink loads until it's settled. Hope that helps...
