Just starting a new thread as we're starting to run out of room on the first. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1716486-December-2013#38680515

I have done no exercise so far, apart from the odd walk Blush I think I'll give the yoga a try, I don't think there are any specific pregnancy classes near me, but I'll ask at my gym, seeing as I'm paying for it and not going!!

mildred, I'm not even going to tell you where I've found hairs that weren't ever there before!

I've also noticed my skin is atrocious, it's sort of covered in tiny bumps, as well as having the texture of orange peel and red splotches and spider veins appearing. lovely! Any ideas on anything I could use to improve it? I take good care of it and regularly exfoliate, but it doesn't seem to be enough at the moment!

yogafan · 26/05/2013 12:46

... asking me how I was, expecting some news I think. But to my shame although my bump is big, it's not all that firm. Argh - more chocolate than baby...

I'd say preg yoga DVD is an excellent idea, if it's a good gentle one shouldn't matter how unused to exercise you are. Will be more about generating energy and helping you feel more comfortable. Classes can be really lovely though, and help you get into more of a chilled out 'zone' which can be good labour preparation.

Enjoy the sun!

hi everyone - can I join? EDD is 15 December, baby #1 after a miscarriage in September.

I haven't had a scan yet - scheduled for 3 June - nothing seems to be going wrong which is making me freak out. Finding it rather perverse that I'd feel better if I felt like crap. I don't have many pregnancy symptoms beyond sore boobs. I'm not feeling nauseous, have not been sick, eating like normal, am a little tired (but I could pin that on jet lag). I have a gut anyway so it's hard to tell if my trousers are tight because I'm pregnant and getting fat...or just fat and getting fatter. My booking appointment was in early May when i was 9+1 - I asked for a scan then but the midwife said if nothing was wrong they'd wait until after 12 weeks. My mind keeps going to the worst case scenario. I'm 39 so am feeling extra anxious to JUST KNOW that this is a viable pregnancy, especially after miscarriage. Is this normal not to feel very pregnant at this point?

yogafan · 26/05/2013 18:37

Hi latebloomer - welcome and congratulations. Some women have very few pregnsncy symptoms, and some have loads in some pregnancies and none in others. Sore boobs is definitely a pregnancy sign though, and your scan is really soon. I think most women are anxious in the first 12 weeks, and it only starts to properly feel real once you've had the scan. It's only natural to feel particularly anxious after miscarriage, but fingers crossed all is well (again - sore boobs is a sign) and you'll gave the reassurance you need at the scan xx

mumoftwoboysS · 26/05/2013 18:51

Ganetgob we flew to NZ (around 24 hours and 3 flights) when DS2 was 10 weeks old. He was MUCH easier than his brother (who was around 2/12) And in terms of Jabs we just had to have his last set when he got back. If you're flying when baby is 5 months old they will have had all their jabs by then.

Latebloomer I thought you could get an early scan if you've had a previous ms? You should ask your mw and if it puts your mind at ease sounds like it'd be worth it?

I had a horrid dream last night about a mc...Sad woke up feeling quite disturbed....anyone else had disturbing dreams?

Featherbag · 26/05/2013 19:29

Today I suddenly got the sensation of my belly button being pushed out from the inside, and my lower abdomen's gone all hard! I developed a bump a week or 2 ago, but I now look further along than my friend who's 8 weeks ahead of me - no surprise as I showed early and was enormous with DS1!

Featherbag · 26/05/2013 19:31

Anyone done Pilates while pregnant? The maternity wellness advisor suggested it might help with my back/hips (sacroiliac dysfunction, ow!), but don't know anyone who's done it.

abcdemma · 26/05/2013 20:16

Feather, try looking on YouTube if you fancy Pilates. I started that 10 min one after finding it on there and it's great :)

Featherbag · 26/05/2013 20:27

Ooh hadn't thought of YouTube, will do, ta!

violetbean · 26/05/2013 21:12

Mumoftwo, I've been having weird dreams, it's almost every night now and they are very vivid! Wish they would go away really but apparently it's normal.

Inspired by the Yoga/Pilates ideas. Will start investigating! :-) Thanks all.

MildredH · 26/05/2013 21:14

Mumoftwoboys- yes, that's so wierd I also had a really horrible dream about mc last night.. Was so grateful to jerk awake and realise it wasn't real..

mumoftwoboysS · 26/05/2013 21:16

featherbag how many weeks are you? Just wondering when you felt your bump appear. No bump here yet...

re Pilates I've got a book (Pilates during pregnancy) and am doing it at home, though I didn't do it with my previous pregnancies. It's definitely a good idea to help keep supple and help back/hips etc. Its also supposed to be very good at keeping healthy in general during pregnancy and can help during labour. (as does pregnancy yoga). I can't find a pregnancy class round here though there is a yoga one and the instructor said she managed an amazing drug free birth at the age of 43 due to pregnancy yoga so there must be something in it!

This might sound crazy but I SWEAR I felt something whilst sitting on the sofa an hour ago. I was sitting really still and felt a really light flutter below my bellybutton/towards my pubic area (which I'm guessing is approx where bean is) I just don't know if it's impossible at only 10 weeks. I am petite/slim and felt both DC's early (around 12-14wks) last time.....

it's made me happy anyway feeling something Smile

mumoftwoboysS · 26/05/2013 21:18

Mildred and violetbean oops posted at the same time! Glad it's not just me then.... I guess its only natural that our anxieties get expressed in our dreams..

LadyMedea · 26/05/2013 22:04

pistachio I have the answer to bumpy skin. Invest in this. Yes it's not that cheap but I testify that the bottle lasts for ever.its a chemical exfoliant and its the only thing that has ever helped me when I get bumpy. My chest broke out with lots of little blocked pores at about 8 weeks and this helped in a few days. Try it. It's worth the money by miles. Good for bumpy upper arms too. Oh and other than de-bumping I don't find it as any other effects so no dryness or anything.

LateBloomer414 · 27/05/2013 00:12

thanks yogafan and mumoftwoboysS for calming my fears. I know I will feel better exactly a week from today when the scan reveals all is well. Because it must, right? I've been traveling for work for over a week now so that's been a good distraction. Heading home later this week so need to figure out how to occupy my mind ....

LateBloomer414 · 27/05/2013 14:18

Well, that's another day done. Very annoyed to have missed the bank holiday bit at least work travel is a distraction. 7 sleeps including one red eye flight until the scan. Hoping everyone has had relaxing weekends and sending good vibes for heathy scans for all!

NomDeClavier · 27/05/2013 15:11

Dating scan today! 10 weeks along and tentative eviction date of 31/12/13 so that means in British terms I'm due 24/12. Another scan 13/6 for more accurate dating and the nuchal fold measurements etc.

So relieved!!!!

AbiElizabeth · 27/05/2013 15:27

Hello i'm a lurker :)

EDD 20th Dec with #1. Finally started to not feel sick anymore at 10weeks but now my legs and hips ache like a bitch when I sit down. It just one thing after another with this pregnancy haha.

MildredH · 27/05/2013 15:47

Great news Nom Smile

mumoftwoboysS · 27/05/2013 19:40

Lady that stuff looks good- good for spots in general then? I'm suffering atm with major breakout of small bumps/spots all over my neck/jaw and I know it's hormonal as I've had it before and has only started when I got pregnant. Only thing is that product has salicylic acid which is not recommended during pregnancy Sad. I've looked at loads of products and all the good ones have this in them. I'm now using Simple (one for blemishes) and it's just not effective enough. I have used Proactiv in the past which is great but again, not for use during pregnancy. grr!

mumoftwoboysS · 27/05/2013 19:50

Just found a bit on the Paula's choice website about pregnancy and AHA's and BHA's www.paulaschoice.co.uk/learn/can-i-use-paulas-choice-products-during-pregancy/

I guess this puts my mind at rest a bit. I might try it then since I think Proactiv is a bit stronger and the only alternative I know of. Thanks for the tip (even though it wasn't originally for me!)

Holly1977 · 27/05/2013 20:48

I highly recommend all Lush products, all completely natural and brilliant for whatever ails you. They have loads of fantastic exfoliatiors and moisturisers to use after. (i should be on commission!) I changed shampoo after getting pg as it was super greasy.

glad someone else mentioned about body hair growing faster, thought it was just me!

QuietNinjaTardis · 27/05/2013 21:29

Lush is great holly. My skins too sensitive for their moisturisers but I love their bath products and karma shampoo bar is my shampoo of choice. And it's a fab price unlike their shower gels which are outrageous!
My tum seems to be growing by the day. When I had my scan she dated me as 3 days ahead of my dates which considering I know exactly when I ovulated is worrying me now. Baby is gonna be a fatty like ds and I was huge with him and I'm bigger now than I was with him at the same stage. What do I do? Shock

b0nker5Mum · 27/05/2013 21:31

I've just realised that I've been using a facial wash with salicylic acid since I was first pregnant..and the salicylic skin blotters.. My skin has been awful since coming off the pill in December... I didn't realise I shouldn't be using it.. :-(

Featherbag · 27/05/2013 21:43

Proper scan tomorrow, so excited! DH is coming with me, he hasn't met bean yet so hopefully it'll be extra special, as I've had 4 scans now, on my own. Over the moon as its mid-afternoon too, which gets me out of work for an hour or so, work is unspeakably horrible at the minute so it'll be a pleasant interlude :)
