Congratulations Scooby. X

Livingwithmymother · 24/05/2013 15:27

Congrats scooby Flowers

Today my hopes have been demolished. I went for a 2nd sweep today. She couldn't get anywhere near my cervix but she had a bloody good go!.
Baby is showing no signs of coming anytime soon and I have an induction booked for the 30th when I'll be 40+12. I think I'll go for a cry and a nap :(

aberjen · 24/05/2013 15:42

Congrats scooby!

lollypopsicle · 24/05/2013 17:01

Living, clearly you're uterus is far too cosy. I got teary this morning thinking that I have a whole week until my first sweep.

I really wish the mw hadn't given me the impression this baby is imminent every time I've seen her for the past 3 weeks. Before then, I was ok with the idea of another one overdue. I'm such a miserable cow right now. I feel frustrated that my body seems incapable of starting labour when it appears the baby is ready to go. This is probably a warped way of thinking about it but I'm just fed up of having no say about when it happens I'm a control freak at the best of times

lollypopsicle · 24/05/2013 17:03

Your not you're. Gah!Angry

Bunnychan · 24/05/2013 17:19

lolly that's exactly how I feel too! I've got a week to wait too. If my baby ends up being a June baby, can I still join the may baby thread?

Congratulations scooby! X

SevenReasonsToSmile · 24/05/2013 17:34

Congrats scooby :)

bunny don't be so bloody daft, after all this time on this thread together you'll hardly be evicted for going overdue, a few days doesn't exactly make much difference does it? Beatrice was born on April 30th, I like to think I'm still welcome despite her coming early.

Hang on everyone else, you'll all have snuggly babies soon and it'll be worth the wait.

Livingwithmymother · 24/05/2013 17:40

lolly I feel like that too. Midwife always said oh no cant see you going past your due date!

Well I hope she's got her bloody glasses on cos here I am ...6 days over and not even a fraction engaged or showing any signs.

I hate the wait and uncertainty .. It's not fun anymore. I like to be organized.

TigerSwallowTail · 24/05/2013 20:54

living and lolly I could have written both your posts, I feel exactly the same, hurry up babies and come and meet us!

40+2

scooby26 · 24/05/2013 23:30

I just wanted to say to those still waiting- it won't be long. 36 hrs ago I had no sign whatsoever and now I have a 9lb 12oz giant in my arms!

Birth story to follow over wked- far too tired at mo as had one hr sleep due to labour sat night. Home in own bed- gnite x

DizziDoll · 25/05/2013 02:44

Congratulations scoob!!

Bunnychan · 25/05/2013 03:15

Grr
Been awake since 1 am with 'fake' contractions that have now stopped but left me feeling really hungry! Here I am at 3.15 making toast in an absolute grump lol!

CheerfulYank · 25/05/2013 05:13

Everyone thought I wouldn't make my due date and now I'm over and it's making me crabby. Hmmph.

DXBMermaid · 25/05/2013 08:14

It's a full moon tonight, so hoping that will get things started Smile

Going for another walk and a curry for lunch!

Bunnychan · 25/05/2013 11:59

I don't know how much more curry I can eat lol! I've tried everything except raspberry leaf tea but I can't face that.
My legs feel like I've ran a marathon today. Last night has really left me achey/moody/disappointed/etc/etc x

wrigglerchick · 25/05/2013 14:58

Bunny, have you considered the raspberry leaf yea capsules? I took those as I didn't fancy drinking the tea either - you can get them from holland and Barrett x

Bunnychan · 25/05/2013 15:19

wriggler I didn't know they did those! I will look into that- thanks for the tip x

TigerSwallowTail · 25/05/2013 15:33

I've been taking the rlt capsules but nothing has happened, but ive also tried plenty of sex, pineapples, birthing ball, hot baths, long walks, wearing my best pants, but she just won't budge.

Everyone keeps telling me your second always comes quicker but I went into labour last time at 39+4.

Went a big walk today, then had a picnic in the sunshine which was nice, still pregnant though!

40+3

DXBMermaid · 25/05/2013 16:28

Walked today for a quite some time, having curry for dinner, sex for afters with a side of nipple stimulation. Just boiling the kettle now for some RLT... come on baby!!

LittleSpade · 25/05/2013 17:12

To all those still waiting I just wanted to say that they'll be out in their own time. I know from experience how much I wanted my little one out when I went overdue but in hindsight I'm worried that the sweeps triggered my waters to break before my body was ready to labour hence my very very long latent phase and eventual induction followed by emergency c-section when she got distressed.

Congratulations to all those who've recently given birth - have to admit I've slightly lost track.

Enjoying being home here :)

DXBMermaid · 25/05/2013 22:11

Little I know you are right, but they let you go +10 here, otherwise it's straight onto induction. Really want to avoid that, so that's why I'm hoping to avoid all that...

However, everything I have tried so far.... And still nothing. Now just suffering from heartburn after eating curry (and I don't like very spicy food).

Anyway after 01.00 here so off to bed!

DXBMermaid · 25/05/2013 22:13

Sorry for appaling post... Only let you go +10, and can you tell I really want to avoid induction Wink

Forgot to add 40+4

TigerSwallowTail · 25/05/2013 23:46

They wait until you go 12 days over here, I don't think I could last that long!

DXBMermaid · 26/05/2013 07:43

I was so sure that I would be holding my baby by the end of today... nothing. Not even a twinge and she was super active yesterday when we went to the cinema. Think all those loud noises might have scared her and now she really won't want to come out.
Dr tomorrow who will no doubt want to talk about induction Sad

lollypopsicle · 26/05/2013 07:44

it'll be 14 days for me before induction which I'm glad about really as I really don't want to be induced. I don't want hospital intervention full stop. A June baby is looking more likely now. Hmmmm, quite like the name June Grin

still here
40+3
