Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Wriggler, I had to hover over the toilet with my legs together coz of my tear and it stinging or holding tissue there. That's a pain there no bath coz thats the best way. Hope it gets easier.

I'm trying to think about going for a number 2, I been drinking so much juice an water and even had a curry last night to help. And all my after pains have started feel like my body is being crushed. My milk came in yesterday and coz I'm not Bf, they look and feel like 2 boulders.

Our DD is lovely tho, eating and sleeping well so that's the main thing. Get big sister is being a monster and is very jealous but now it's just us at home hoping she will get back to normal now.

Hope everyone still waiting is ok and all the babies start arriving. The weekends seem to get very busy. Xx

lollypopsicle · 20/05/2013 09:35

wriggler try engaging your pelvic floor muscles (as best you can) then allowing them to completely relax. It may be that you're subconsciously tensing them so try to take conscious control. Also, try leaning forward to pee. HTH

MammaBrussels · 20/05/2013 11:51

Try going while you have a hot shower wriggler.

Having irregular but painful contractions, hoping things kick off naturally before I'm induced this evening.

Zorra · 20/05/2013 12:00

Good luck Mamma! Lots of tightenings here, been burning the clary sage so maybe that, or maybe just wriggling! Still haven't lost my plug or anything yet, so quite a way to go I expect...

Bunnychan · 20/05/2013 12:13

Good luck mamma!
Me neither zorra! Seem to have less signs each day x

SevenReasonsToSmile · 20/05/2013 12:33

So many babies arriving now, and sounds like lots of you aren't far off either.

I'm shattered today, DD2 normally feeds 3-4 hourly overnight but decided to want a bottle every 2 hours from 11pm onwards last night. She's still tiny though (5lbs 6oz last week) so I won't be complaining if the scales reflect the extra feeds this week. I've got tesco delivering tonight between 9-10 so can't even go to bed early.

How are all of the other LO's getting on? Nobody who has the LO already seems to post much, I'm not complaining I know you're all busy but its just nice to know how everyone is doing. I know we're still in ante-natal but keep posting, we were all in this together!

BeauticianNotMagician · 20/05/2013 12:50

Hi all turns out they were contractions. Baby Teddy born at 14.17pm yesterday weighing 7lb3oz. We were home by 8.45 only reason wasnt earlier is due to paperwork.

So in love with him. Slightly shocked as such a short labour I'm used to labouring hospital for at least 24hrs and staying in. Birth story to follow soon Smile

shelly81 · 20/05/2013 14:58

Awwww so jealous of all the lovely babas arriving .... I'm contemplating a bomb maybe that'll shift this baba ha ... & feel like am wasting mat leave everyday she isn't here xx

Zorra · 20/05/2013 15:22

Ooh, plug just gone after tightenings all day!

DXBMermaid · 20/05/2013 15:55

Looks like it's you and me left Bunny and Shelly
Zorra and Mamma wishing you all the best and a speedy birth!

Am mentally preparing myself en keep repeating my own little mantra; it will hurt, but not more then I can handle. My body knows what to do. I am ready to do this and it will not last longer then I can handle.

I know all of this is wishful thinking, but it is making me feel a lot calmer and I've figured that must count for something too right?

TigerSwallowTail · 20/05/2013 16:07

Congratulations wriggler and beaut Smile

Good luck zorra, hopefully won't be too long now for you.

bunny, shelly and dbx, I'm a fellow straggler too no sign of baby yet. I had DS at 39+3 so this is the most pregnant I've ever been now, I was convinced she'd be early too.

39+5.

lollypopsicle · 20/05/2013 16:24

I'm still here too. Booo

Bunnychan · 20/05/2013 16:36

tiger I was convienced mine would be early! I think I've jinxed it! X

scooby26 · 20/05/2013 16:37

And me too :-(. Only 39w 3d here and feels like 2 wk overdue- god help me if I do go 2 wk over- I could so punch a wall today! ;-)
Mother in law rings every day with stupid non questions which is clearly to see if I answer or have snuck off to hospital and not told her ( which i will do if i dont NEED her for childcare as i cant stNd the idea of her comstantly txt and updating her mates! She is the soul of indiscretion and I find labour personal ) I wish!

MammaBrussels · 20/05/2013 16:41

Just lost my plug too Zorra- didn't have it with DS so was oddly fascinated by it . Contractions getting more painful and much closer together now so will head off to the hospital soon. Hopefully there'll be no need for an induction now.

40+7

babygeek · 20/05/2013 16:50

Another straggler here too Hmm
Few more contractions last night and this afternoon (every 30mins or so). The massive burger and milkshake I had at GBK might have helped as well as having to jog-waddle across the road at the lights to avoid being run over. DP thought it was hilarious as I doubled over with contraction/laughter once I got across.

I will have another sweep booked on thurs with midwife. It will be interesting to see if these irregular contractions have translated into more dilation and effacement.

Good luck to all those with positive labour signs, hope it goes well. And congrats to those with snuggly new borns from the weekend.

40+5

babygeek · 20/05/2013 16:51

Ooo, that sounds positive Mama. Good luck! Smile

lollypopsicle · 20/05/2013 17:27

Looks like mama and zorra next. Good luck!

shelly81 · 20/05/2013 17:36

Good luck mamma and zorra so exciting .... I think am all nested out actually sick of cleaning and painting now ... dxb this is number 3 for me and I'm still saying things like that to myself haha .. We'll get through it cos we have too there's no 2 ways about it is there haha ...x

ButteryJam · 20/05/2013 17:59

Best of luck mamma and zorra! How exciting that things are moving! :)

I'm still here too at 39+3. Saw the consultant today who suggested I should book a sweep in for my due date. Does that mean she thinks I wont go into labour naturally by then? Hmm Need something to boost my mood today, feel like indulging with either dessert or junk food.

DXBMermaid · 20/05/2013 18:01

Might be TMI, but just noticed a sweet smell down there after weeing. Not sure if it is wee, or amniotic fluid or something else??

Seeing Dr tomorrow so will ask. Just suddenly started to feel a bit funny, but don't think I'm having proper contractions and also no loss of mucus plug.

InNeedofSomeSleep · 20/05/2013 18:01

Good luck mamma and zorra. X

roastpotatoes · 20/05/2013 18:13

congratulations beaut and wriggler. lovely news...

wriggler I'm another one who found weeing in the shower helpful at the beginning... How have you got on today? Hopefully you will be on your way home soon.

beaut that's fantastic that it was so quick and you are home already! I hope that it's a really special time and that your other two boys warm to the new addition.

Good luck to all those who are still waiting/having early signs. mamma, hoping things have kicked off just in time and you avoid that induction!

seven I was thinking the same re. it being very quiet from those with babies already. My Alice will be 2 weeks tomorrow. I've had my first afternoon of solo parenting as DH has returned to work today, but will just be doing afternoons for the first 2 weeks. Felt very tearful before he left but it's actually been fine - even managed to go for a walk to Starbucks and have a cup of tea, so feeling very pleased with myself. Alice has been doing really well. She took to breast feeding well and got the hang of the latch quite quickly. But the midwives are worried about my milk supply as she has not regained her birthweight yet. They've advised formula top ups, which have done for the last couple of days and that does seem to be working. But I don't want to make the problem worse by relying on formula and then my milk supply dwindling even further. Does anyone have anytips for boosting milk? I'm trying to eat and drink lots, because I seem to have lost weight quite quickly since she was born, but any other tips would be great!

cuppateaandagingersnap · 20/05/2013 18:50

Congratulations beaut and wriggler that's fantastic, looking forward to hearing more BS and names are lovely too, I think the boys are catching up again!

I'm another straggler here, 40+5 as well and not much going on, have another sweep at MW on wed and induction booked for next Monday if still no developments. I've almost got to the stage where it will be a massive surprise if something does happen and my head seems to have resigned itself to thinking I will be pregnant forever!

tasmaniandevilchaser · 20/05/2013 19:52

hi all, update from me -

mini-tas - Zachary born 2.38am on Sunday morning, almost in the corridor of the hospital, don't think the MW was expecting me to go so quickly when she sent me for a walk! He is just gorgeous, 7lb 2 oz, like a mini Yoda and feeding constantly. Birth story to follow, it was a good one, quite surprised after a tricky marathon with DD, was not expecting it to be so ...... great this time! Smile

Hope that all of you waiting have good experiences, I would really recommend Juju Sundin's book and listening to a hypnobirthing CD, they got me through a labour mostly hooked up to a monitoring belt in the triage room!

roast DD didn't feed much in the first few weeks and took ages to regain her birth weight, I just did a sit in and fed and fed and fed, lots of skin to skin for a few weeks, just prioritised breastfeeding over going out for a couple of weeks. Then we phased out the bottles (too much hassle for lazy me).
