lol mom am like you no symptoms really apart from dizziness which could be anything.

Cant really afford a private scan at the min as just had to put my car in last week which totalled up to a whopping £300 then car tax on top at another £100...lol hey ho maybe when I can get dh to sell his car

anyone want to buy a N reg escort..lol

magnolia1 · 17/05/2006 21:29

Nemo, If they don't offer a routine scan at 12 weeks do you have an Early Pregnancy Unit local to you? I went to one today which had a walk in clinic and when I explained how terrifified I was they were happy to do a scan for reassurance and told me to come back if I had any further worries.

Nemo1977 · 17/05/2006 21:35

magnolia the epu is in the same hospital so once they go on record for scan that is it they usually automatically cancel any others booked.

Still really dont know what to doSad

magnolia1 · 17/05/2006 22:06

That seems really unfair Sad I don't know what to suggest but I really think you should let the gp/midwife know how you feel about this. I considered a private scan and if your hops are not going to budge on the scan then what about borrowing the money for a scan at 12 weeks? Will happily help you out if you get stuck Smile

magnolia1 · 17/05/2006 22:06

Hosp not hops!!

Loubie37 · 18/05/2006 07:53

Hi

Things aren't quite so happy in our house right now....as you know I've been spotting brown stuff for the last couple of days, but last night when I went to the loo and wiped it was bright red:(:(:( Since then it's gone back to being brown and there was barely anything over night but I'm so scared this one's not going to make it. I'm going to the docs today but not sure what they'll be able to do, I think it's too early for anything to show up on a scan?

Has anyone else had this and not had a m/c??

Going by the date of my last period I'm 5+3 today but I know I ovulated late, so I'm more likely to be 4+4, something like that...

LadyTophamHatt · 18/05/2006 08:25

Ohh nemo, that seem so unfair.

Could you got to the EPU now and have a scan then when you're 12 weeks go back to the EPU again with a little fib of pains or something to have another?

They won't know you're telling a little white lie, will they?

Envy this is a green vomity face and what I've looked like all morning.
Rather alarmed that I was sick this morning too, only ever been sick a few times throughout all 3 prev PG's before but never this early.
BARF

(please remind me to make packed lunches the night before school...that was like some form of torture)

lth, with ds2 my morning sickness was made worse by early morning smells, hope it doesn't get too bad for you xx

Loubie37 · 18/05/2006 09:16

Just been speaking to the nurse at our doctors who booked me in on Monday and she's reassured me no end. She said it's really common in early pregnancy (for both red and brown spotting) and that it's a good sign if it's only there when I wipe and that I've got no cramping.

She said there's no point in a scan at this early stage, and that it might worry me even more if I had one and they saw nothing (bearing in mind that because I ovulated late I'm more likely to be 4 weeks +, not 5+).

So I'm going in for a blood test at 11am and then having another one on Monday to check my hcg levels are rising. I'm taking the rest of the week off work and putting my feet up - I'm taking no chances whatsoever with this one!!

Thanks for your replies xx

Nemo1977 · 18/05/2006 09:41

loubie hope you are ok..spotting/bleeding at all is not nice. With ds I had quite heavy bleeding and didnt even know I was pg as thought it was AF in full flow so to speak.

Well have to leave for gps in half an hour and still not sure what I am doing..lol Will see what happens and how I feel as I am up and down at the minute as I know what will be will be but at the same time its that going around thinking you are pg but have had a missed mc that destroyed me last time.Sad

LadyTophamHatt · 18/05/2006 10:07

Hi everyone, i haven't been on for a few days, came back on today to tell you all that I am really worried that I have started to m/c (brown spotting for last couple of days, with faint af-like pains that come and go) and gosh, I can't believe how many of us have the same thing!

elliepippamummy, amyjo22 and loubie, I hope you are all feeling OK and hopeful. I went to see my GP yesterday, she said "it could go either way", but she is less concerned than if it was heavy red bleeding with severe cramps. I have a scan at EPU tomorrow at 10. I am scared for a couple of reasons, firstly, like some of you I am convinced there will be "nothing there", so far I have only done 2 preg tests but there is another one upstairs calling out to me right now! Secondly obviously I am worried that there will be something there but that I am losing it.

I had to come home from work yesterday as I was so upset and spent hours on the internet, only to find out nothing really. It could just be early preg spotting or could be start of a m/c.

I had an early m/c about 7 years ago at about this stage (6 wks) and with that one there was quite severe pains plus proper red bleeding, like a heavy af. So quite different to this. Plus I should add that within a couple of weeks of that m/c I was pg again with my DD2, now 6! What I am trying to say to all of you in the same boat as me, is that we can all still have hope that our "spotting" is nothing more than that (it does seem to be incredibly common, altho I didn't have any with either of my DDs), and that even if it is something more sinister, my DD2 is living proof that our bodies can bounce right back after a m/c. It is really heartening to have some other ladies who are going through the same thing, I truly hope you are all feeling OK today and not worrying too much! Lots and lots of hugs to all PPxxx

Hi

Loubie just to say my friend had a bright red bleed followed by brown spotting for 3 days and has just had her 24 week scan and all is going well so there is proof that this can happen and be okay.

Posyparker - thankyou for your posting I know I feel so much better knowing ther people are having the same symptons and one by one having scans and the results coming back positive.

My spotting has stopped now (had it for 2 days) and the aches really have subsided and only there when really sit down and relax so fingers crossed.

Better go as DD just woken from nap
xx

Hi Everyone

Just to say not sure why my earlier post went on so many times when I tried to post it kept saying server not responding so I signed of obviously it was working!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 19/05/2006 07:53

Uugghh....so yesterday I felt like crap, was sick and felt rubbish all day. however I was pleased as it obviously meant the morning sickness was kicking in and a good sign.

This morning feel absolutley fine, no hint of sickness, have even had a toast and tea which horrified me yesterday.

So the worry starts again....why has the sick feeling gone? I want it back!!

Morning LTH - you can't win can you - hate feeling sick hate not feeling sick - I do know where you are coming from - with me its my boobs - however I do hope they become less sensitive by 8 weeks as proping them up on a pillow each night isn't fun !!

Choccamocha · 19/05/2006 11:59

LTH Me too. Felt crap all day Weds, Thursday not as bad and today, really tired but ok.
Just the thought of some foods makes my stomach heave though, so try not to think of chinese style mini chicken fillets, which I used to love..... bleeuuugh!

becks5109 · 19/05/2006 12:00

indignatio - I recently had a CP test and my mum was convinced I had never had it as a child but i came out as being immune to it. Dr said most people are immune as you can easily have it and not know so am sure you'll be fine.

Choccamocha · 19/05/2006 12:02

And to make me feel really old DS1 has just walked through the door as he has just had his last day at school. Just has to go in for his GCSE's now. He suddenly seems so grown up :(
