Hi everyone,
Feeling sorry for myself.Morning sickness has struck (3-4 times a day ..yuchk) my boobs are killing me and I have the worst hayfever ever (going to see the doc on Monday to see if I can take anything)
It will be reasurring to actually speak to someone, as I still haven't been contacted by the MW yet.And have just found out we don't get dating scans done down here, the first scan is 20 weeks. I can't wait that long to find out..so will have to start lookng in to private ones. Anyone had any experience?

Good luck on Tuesday TR.....I've just had some good news....we can finish work early to enjoy the sun!
Magnolia: what a relief that someone else is going up in size..nothing fits anymore!

jessddibs · 09/06/2006 18:29

Hi everyone! Hot enough for you all?!?!?!

Elm, I don't get offered a dating scan either where I live, so we opted for a private scan. It cast £105! but we got total (or near as can be) peace of mind and a cd of our baked bean and heart beat. So now I feel alot more relaxed, so thats worth it in itself. Hope this helped Smile

Dragonheart, I really can sympathise with you. I also suffer from migraines, not just when I am pregnant either, but not being able to take a mega strong painkiller makes everything ten times worse! and the guilt of laying on the sofa all day while dd entertains herself can be heartbreaking and frustrating. But like most things when your pregnant there isn't much that can be done, you just have to ride it out. So saying that I think we all have the right to feel stressed and bloody pre-menstrual!!!! Lol!

AAhh thats my rant for today!

Gonna get settled and sorted for Big Brother, Sam to go!!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 10/06/2006 08:49

Everytime I think the sickness is getting better it always goes back to being really shit.

To add to the sickness I'm constipated too (sorry TMI)

Hate this awful weather and have to go to ds1+2 school fair today....fantastic planning by the school with it being between 12-3pm. It's a million degrees out there and we have to go during the hottest part of the day. Great

I'd rather boil my head in a chip pan TBH!!

Ds3 got me up a 5am today too!!

Oh what a good day in the LTH household.

I don't know whether it's because I'm pg or it's because we live on the coast in the NE (Grimsby) but I'm cold!! Everyone else seems to be sweltering in the heat, but we had a BBQ for tea last night and I had to go put my coat on!! :o

I'm 8 weeks today and still not been sick yet despite feeling pretty ropy sometimes, but then again, with my other 2 I was fine for the first 12 weeks and then really really really sick from 12 weeks all the way through to the end....looks like it might be like that again this time then :(

I've had a look at a 3d pic of an 8 week old embryo today on the net and it lloks like an alien! So weird to think I've got one of those floating around inside me! This might be a bit OTT for some, but what I've been doing is finding a pic each week relevant to how many weeks I am and using it as the wallpaper on the PC - that way I get reminded every time I use the PC what our baby is likely to look like :)

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine, no such luck for me, it's housework all morning and then the England match this afternoon :)

lulu25 · 10/06/2006 10:03

I live in the south-east and I have been freezing cold for weeks. 28 degrees out there today though yay!

magnolia1 · 10/06/2006 10:16

I,m in Surrey and it's baking today Grin

Dh is cutting the grass, I have heard bubs heartbeat and not feeling sick at all but also have the most awful constipation Blush Giving me tummy ache Sad

And this poor bub will have to listen to dh's loud voice shouting at the T.v this afternoon. Poor thing!! Grin

LadyTophamHatt · 10/06/2006 10:56

magnolia, the constipation is awful isn't it??
I'm not usually one to talk about bowel movements but MY GOD what I would do to have a proper poo!

It's that that make me feel sick I think....the stomach ache that come with it make the sick feeling 100 times worse.

I feel like crying at the prospect of walking around this bloody school fair in this weather.....hate hate hate hate it!

Oh, yes, constipation here too. And the insomnia. And nausea. Roll on the second trimester Grin.
Today it's ds's birthday Shock. I can't believe a whole year has passed, and dh and I have been reminiscing about it all. I mean, we were reminiscing last night, dh of course is happily snoring in bed at the momentGrin. Weird to think we're putting ourselves through it all again in a few months time [scared emoticon].

Loubie37 · 11/06/2006 10:31

I feel a bit of an odd one out - my two are 14 and 12...I don't half feel old ShockWink

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine - the North East seems to have finally caught up, it was so hot yesterday and looks like today will be the same :):)

Apart form being really tired permanently, the odd bout of nausea and my boobs still being a bit sore, I've not really got any symptoms....which is a bit worrying. I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife team at the hospital on Tuesday which I'm looking forward to, it might seem more real then :)

Hope everyone else is well?

Good luck for Tuesday TR

isn't he sweet Grin

trinityrhino · 12/06/2006 07:56

i feel icky today and would love to be looked after Sad

but dh has just found out that they are pulling down the block of rooms that he has a room in at the naval base and so he has to go and empty his room, it's a 4 hour round trip and however long it takes to pack his stuff up Sad

never mind, he said he will get back today so that he can come with me to the scan at 9.30 tomorrow Smile

hope everyone else feels better than me, feeling sick and exhausted is bad enough but what I thought was my hayfever is actually a stinking headcold and chesty thing that dd2 has got aswell ugh Sad

becks5109 · 12/06/2006 09:06

morning everyone

not been on line for a while so just been catching up on everyone's news. My hayfever is driving me nuts and feel like i've got conjunctivitis as my eyes are weeping like mad - going to go to our company dr's today to see if he can give me something.

Had a red bleed on wiping last week so managed to get an early scan at the hospital and all is well - saw my little baked bean and the heartbeat so feeling a bit more reassured now and they said i was correct with my dates. I'm nearly 9 week and planning to book me private scan for exactly 11 weeks if possible so not long now till i can start telling people! Mum was going to tell my dad at the weekend and OH told MIL so that's only a total of 3 people that know now!

I had most of last week off so enjoyed the weather but hating being at work today - roll on Thursday for me day off!

Loubie37 · 12/06/2006 09:06

Sorry to hear you're not well TR, hope you feel better soon! Well, I'm off work sick AGAIN today with this bleeding lark, I'm really fed up now. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased that they're doing scans to reassure me that everything is OK, but as soon as the bleeding starts again I feel like I'm back to square one and panic mode sets in again. It can't still be implantation bleeding at 8+2 can it? And if it was it would all be the same wouldn't it, rather than a mixture of red and brown blood??

I'm trying to get through to my GP to see if they'll actually have a look to see if I've got a cervical erosion or some other explanation for the bleeding....at least then I would know it's not harmful and maybe could start to relax and enjoy this pregnancy. I should be so happy after waiting so long to get to this stage, but all I want to do is cry :(

Sorry for rambling, but I feel better for getting it off my chest :)

Hope everyone else is OK?

sending huge hugs for you loubie Smile

it must be awful for you, I hope they find a reason for the bleeding that can putyour mind at ease

Smile
becks5109 · 12/06/2006 11:01

oh loubie what a pain. I think it probably could still be implantation as I remember with my first pregnancy i had bleeding at 6+6 and was scanned and they said it can go on for a long time as it can take ages for the bloody to get all the way through and out if you see what I mean. I'm 8+5 and I'm still bleeding and it brown. At my scan last week they said its common in about 50% of preganancies and they would only be worried if it was heavier than a period. Hope that helps :)

Loubie37 · 12/06/2006 15:34

Hi

Well, I've been to see my GP and she's arranged another scan for me on Wednesday :( She checked my cervix and the blood is definitely coming from inside (ie not a cervical erosion :()

I could accept that it's just implantation bleeding if it was all old brown stuff, but that doesn't explain the red new blood I keep getting....all I can do is console myself with the fact that it's been going on for 4 weeks now and baby was fine at my last scan, last Wednesday.

At least I know, and fingers crossed it isn't anything bad.

Thanks becks for the reassurance, it's good to know I'm not on my own :)

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine, I'm not, it's too hot and my hayfever is terrible!

Loubie, I'm sorry you're having such an awful time. Big hugs from me too.
Becks, I know what you mean about the hayfever!! I saw the doc this morning and he's prescribed nasal spray and eyedrops.....BLISS!!! Grin
I hope the scan goes well for you tomorrow TR

becks5109 · 12/06/2006 15:54

ELM out of interest which brands did he prescribe as if they are able to be bought over the counter i'll be straight to the chemist!

Loubie - good luck for the next scan.

ELM · 12/06/2006 18:56

Hi Becks,
He gave me Nasonex (50 microgram) nasal spray - one puff daily and opticrom eye drops - four times a day. I don't know whether they are available over the counter tho

lizziemun · 12/06/2006 19:39

loubie

i been to the doctors today to have pg comfirmed like you i've been bleeding (spotting) for the last 4 weeks on and off only did pg test last wednesday dr said as long as i wasn't passing large clots that in shouldn't worry. i now done 4 pg tests just to make sure that still positive.

on the down side as i'm irregaral in time between af and length of af dr thinks i'm between 8 and 10 weeks so due between 15th and 27th jan (dd1 birthday she will be 3)

2Happy · 12/06/2006 19:53

Loubie, sorry for all your worry
TR, thinking of you for tomorrow x

MerlinsBeard · 12/06/2006 19:54

Loubie, sorry you're having a rough time of it. Good that they are giving u scans tho i guess. I don't know anything about cervical erosion but when i was researching bleeding in pregnancy, sometimes it just happens and baby is fine, not always a reason.

Has anyone seen Nemo recently? keep referring back to the thread so i can check up on everyone

LTH i really really hope ur sickness eases soon, can't be nice in this weather.

TR, hope ur DH gets back for scan 2mo

flibertygibbet · 12/06/2006 19:58

I've been offline for a week due to migraines Angry so checking in to catch up on how you are all doing. Sorry to hear the bleeds are still going on for some of you but glad to hear that you are getting reassurance from doctors.

For those who mentioned having migraines and not being able to treat them, I'll pass on my experience with them. I have migraines when I'm not pregnant too and have to take medication every night to prevent them. They started up again last time I was pregnant and it's happening again despite the medication. Last time I had to increase the dose while pregnant and this stopped them completely. My doctor is happy for me to take the medication during pregnancy and has also said it's fine to take co-codamol when they occur, that's what's in Migralieve too but you can't take the ones to stop you being sick (can't remember if they are the yellow or the pink ones!) You definately can't take Imigran/Sumatriptan though (the only thing that really helps me a lot). So if some of you are suffering with migraines, it might be worth going to your GP and asking him to check for you in case they can be prevented.

trinityrhino · 12/06/2006 20:01
