hey lizzie, congratulations Grin
hope your feeling ok

more people will be on later to welcome you I'm sure Smile

jessddibs · 07/06/2006 16:00

Hi Elm and Lizzie! Congratulations and welcomeSmile
Had my dating scan today, they made me 7+4 instead of the 8+6 thought I was! But never mind, the most important thing is that everything is were it should be and we saw and HEARD the heart beat! I was well impressed! So am now trying to relax about it all.

Trinity, it really sounds to me that theres nothing to worry about, my dates were wrong and i KNOW when I was last on, and I am sure you would have had some symptoms if there was somthing wrong. Try to stay relaxed, stress is negative for you and babe.x.Smile

And Becks, I know what your feeling about your mum. My mother-in-law guessed i was pregnant (no wine or ciggies!) and promised to keep it secret, but we have found out that shes told both her sisters (who would have told the rest of the family..cousins etc)and her friend at work, and thats only the people she's confessed to! It's soo frustrating!!! Especially when I feel like I have PMT from hell!! I have had to use the silent treatment on her, otherwise my temper may explode! I think shes got the message though cause shes offered to have dd all weekend so other half and me can chill together!Lol!

It's nice to still hear from you MoM, hope you are bearing up ok.x.

Hi to everyone else! Hope you are all doing ok..x.x.x

Loubie37 · 07/06/2006 17:51

Well I've had my scan and everything was fine! It went really well, although I wasn't told it wasn't going to be an internal one (I just presumed it would be as the others were) so I didn't have a full bladder but they still picked up the heartbeat which was such a relief to see The baby has grown the amount it should have done since my last scan 8 days ago so it's obviously thriving :)

Again, they couldn't find a reason for the bleeding, I'm beginning to think it's a cervical erosion or something similar, but I'll probably never find out. I just hope it stops soon so I can relax and start to enjoy being pg at long last.

Oh and I got a photo for Matt seeing as he couldn't be there....it's just a lightish blob inside a black blob but I don't care - it's our baby!!

Thanks for all your good wishes :):)

Loubie xx (7+4)

LadyTophamHatt · 07/06/2006 18:09

Awwww, thats excellent news loubie.

Welcome again to the next lot of newbies...January is going to be a busy monthGrin

Have my dating/nuchal scan all booked.....7th JULY....FFS thats years away!!!
I'll be over 13 weeks by then!

Now what was it a I said the other day about not feeling sick anymore????
I'm sitting here forcing myself to eat an apple as thats all I can stomach and I am decidedly green.

OP posts:
Loubie37 · 07/06/2006 18:39

Sorry to hear you're feeling icky LTH...I'm the opposite now, I've got home from work and all I can do is is eat! So much for my retching this morning, that didn't last long, did it?!

I'm a bit confused about when to book my nuchal scan....do I do it now so they've got plenty of notice, or do I wait until after my 12 week dating scan so I know my exact dates before I book it?? I've got my booking in appointment at the hospital next week so I'll ask them then....

By the way UCM, how did you get on at your scan?? Have been thinking of you, hope it's good news :)

Loubie xx

LadyTophamHatt · 07/06/2006 18:52

With my prev pg's the have done the nuchal thingy at the 12 week scan so you might wnat to sort it out now.

Feeling ok again now, ate a huge chunk of frnech bread and a bag of crisps after my apple. Am human again nowGrin

Just seen you posting back on here MoM....it's lovely to still have youSmile. You can be our honorary memberGrin

OP posts:
Loubie37 · 07/06/2006 18:57

I think I'll end up having two 12 week scans cos they don't do nuchal scans in our NHS Trust - we've got to go to Leeds for that (70 miles away :()

But because I'm not 100% sure on my dates (I'm 8+2 based on my LMP, 7+4 based on my first scan and 7+0 based on these last 2) I don't want to risk going at the wrong time - don't nuchal scans have to be done within a certain timescale??

It's all so confusing (and expensive!) isn't it?!

LadyTophamHatt · 07/06/2006 18:59

My mw said they can be done between 11-13 weeks but when i called this morning to book it the receptionist said 11 weeks was too early. I'll be 13+2 when I finally have mineShock

OP posts:
neolara · 07/06/2006 20:07

According to my local private clinic, nuchal scans have to be done between 11 weeks 2 days and 13 weeks 6 days, otherwise they are not necessarily accurate. When we booked ours, the sonographer (? specialist woman who does the scans) said that it was best if it was done between 12 and 13 and a half weeks as that made measuring easiest.

Great news Loubie. It's very reassuring isn't it. We had a private early scan last week where we saw a heartbear. We also have an early NHS scan this Friday because we've been seen at the recurrent miscarriage clinic. Because everything was OK last week I've been feeling much more confident - which is a bliming relief. The whole "will it, won't it work" thing was doing my head in.

2Happy · 07/06/2006 20:34

Evening all. Feeling a bit knackered - even when I don't feel sick, there's nothing I want to eat, the idea of all foods just turn me off totally. Glad to hear about the scans that have gone well; trinity I'll be thinking of you until your next one xx. We don't get scans until 16 weeks here, though since I don't know my dates I'm not sure how they're going to work that one out, lol! I'm not in so much of a rush this time - partly because I've done it before, and partly because this pregnancy just seems identical to the last one! Can't believe my baby is going to be 1 on sunday! Unfortunately means I'll have to withstand a day of the in-laws... Be warned - I'm sure I'll hit MN to rant afterwards Wink

trinityrhino · 07/06/2006 20:39

thanks 2happy, I'm willing the days to go faster Smile

Dragonhart · 07/06/2006 21:11

Welcome to all the newbees! Only been off for a day and there are so many more of us now! How exciting! Grin

Well, didn't post yest cos I felt rubbish. Know it sounds awful but feel quite jelous of all of you that feel ok. Seems like this feeling will drag on for ages! (last time it took til 14wks) Get migraines when I am pregnant (its a hormone thing as I also got them after I had had ds and when I stopped breastfeeding). Obviously cant take any medication for it (paracetomol is crap and just dont bother with it) so last time the only way I could dealwith it was to sleep but not so easy when looking after a 10mth old!

Had a rubbish day yesterday as had a migraine and had to look after ds all day. Was not any fun with him and felt really guilty cos I got cross because he was obviously bored and playing up. He woke up from his nap early and I was feeling awful and when I picked him up I just burst into tears. He started to cry and we just sat there while I pulled myself back together. Felt so guilty, like a bad mum. Cos I am so fed up he is just reaction the dame back. Roll on the next trimester! Maybe I will feel human again. Know it sound pathetic but guess hormones are going mad! Anyone notice that it is ok for us to use that excuse but if anyone else says it (esp dh) that you go mental at them? Just me?!

I dont have any date for my dating scan. Last time I didnt have to do anything and they just gave me an apt after the midwife came at around 14wks. Has everyone had to ring to arrange theirs? Maybe it has changed or maybe it is just dif indif areas?

Glad your scan went ok Loubie and you too trinity. Hope all wnet well ucm.

Dragonhart · 07/06/2006 21:15

Just reread my message and realise I sound pathetic compared to what alot of you are dealing with. Hope you dont mind me moaning on, just letting off steam. This thread is a good way to vent!! Wink xxx

Evening girls,

My doppler arrived and heard bubs heartbeat today Grin

I am 12 weeks tommorow and feel a bit of a fake posting here as I should be on due december but i like it here Blush

TR, Thinking of you hun xxxxx

How are you all coping with the heat?? I love it but had to go buy size 12 clothes today!!! Usually a size 8 Shock

I think its my poor body thinking 'why are you doing this to me again???!!!'

LadyTophamHatt · 09/06/2006 10:04

Magnolia, I spent that long baking hot summer 2003 very pregnant with ds3 and it has made me hate the sun ever since.

Dh said to me earlier "have you seen the weather fo rnext week?"

"No....why??"
"Monday is going to be 32*c or something"

My reply was "ohhh Nooooooo"
I used to love the sun but can't stand it now.

I had a real stroke of luck yesterday, I ordered some maternity trousers from Tchibo with are MASSIVE. I didn't know what their sizes were like so ordered a 14-16 thinking they probably come up small(i'm a size 12 usually) and I'll need the extra room as the months go on.
14-16 they ain't!!
maybe 18-20!!

anyway, I phoned to return them and re-order 10-12 (they don't do 12-14's for some reason) and they have let me keep the big ones and are sending a 10-12 too.
Apparently it's not cost effective for them to collect the large ones so I can keep them.

They won't go to waste, I'll either alter them on the sewing machine or just wear them when I'm really big.

That brightened my dayGrin
