Morning all. I have my MW booking in appt today. CPox test results are back - I did have it as a child - have now told the mums of cpox sons about the preg as they don't need to worry.
hugs to all - but not too tight as it hurts my boobs

Choccamocha · 24/05/2006 11:29

Hi everyone - Had my appt with my Gp this morning. He jokingly asked if I was after a season ticket for the maternity ward. Told him I was at Slimming World and he said that was fine. As long as I wasn't doing a restrictive diet, he was happy and baby should be too.

My booking in appt with the midwife is on the 13th June, when I will be 11 1/2 weeksish. So I feel like it's all official now and funnily enough a bit more real.
Still no real symptoms apart from feeling tired alot and an occasional woosh of nausea, but no actual being sick.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Loubie37 · 24/05/2006 12:42

I had my scan this morning and everything seems well. They couldn't see a heart beat but didn't expect to because as I thought, I'm not as far on as my dates suggest - they measured the sac at 9.3mm which suggests I'm 5+4 which ties in exactly with the day I got my smiley face so no surprises there. The sac is high up which is good, and I've got another scan date for 2 weeks when they should be able to see the heart beat and give me a more accurate EDD :):):):)

Back to work tomorrow!

Thanks for all your good wishes, it means so much

Loubie & mini mariner xx
5+4

Nemo1977 · 24/05/2006 12:44

Oh my good god morning sicknes has just struck with a vengance...urghhhhhhhhhh In all my pregnancies have never had one where I was actually a lot sick TMI. However this littlie has obviously decided last time is a treat what with having to look after the other two.I feel sooo rough and really need to go and prepare some lunch for DS

Nemo1977 · 24/05/2006 12:47

oh loubie concieved on day of ov..its a girl..I did that with DD.

Choccamocha · 24/05/2006 13:07

Great news Loubie. Glad all was ok. :)

Choccamocha · 24/05/2006 13:09

Loads of sympathy Nemo. It's hard when you've other little ones to look after and you feel crap.

Hattie2 · 24/05/2006 13:22

Great news Loubie :)

Sorry you're feeling bad Nemo, hope it improves as the day goes on and hope everyone else is feeling OK today.

There's a big team night out at work today:
a) I can't drink
b) I really can't be bothered to traipse all the way into town to spend the nignt stood in a smoky pub
b) I want to be in bed by 10pm!

What excuse can I come up with that doesn;t make me sound too boring / antisocial / pregnant!?

MitchMatch · 24/05/2006 13:44

Excellent news Loubie, good to hear that both you and little mariner are doing well.

Hattie, could DH, DS or DD be suddenly ill and you have to get home? I'm not very good with these things as I just tend to say, can't be bothered and I'm going home. Bye.

Didn't feel pregnant until yesterday and was seriously considering doing another pg test to check that I wasn't being delusional, but in the last 24 hours; have stood at the sink crying because I don't have enough bench space, started burping for England and felt such awful nausea this morning that DH had to bring a cup of tea to bed. So won't be buying that pg test then.

MerlinsBeard · 24/05/2006 13:45

tell em your not feeling well hattie!

Nemo, sorry that ur feeling rough, hopefully it won;t last long.

How is LTH, anyone know?

Nemo1977 · 24/05/2006 13:57

just seen LTH on the whats for lunch thread...well have been sick couple more times then made lunch and havent stopped eating since...have never had any of this at all....had a fleeting shocking thought what if its twins..arghhhhh would be really stuffed then but hey ho would cope, pmsl

MerlinsBeard · 24/05/2006 13:59

Nemo, my 1st was text book, a little sick until 12 weeks then stopped, 2nd i threw up from pretty much the day i did the test until 6 and a half months! both boys...this time nothing except aching which actually is worrying me a little now

Nemo1977 · 24/05/2006 14:01

mom I was nauseas with ds but never sick
DD was fine apart from really bad period pains constantly which was stretching. This time went from nothing apart from dizzyness to being very sick today...bleugh.

With missed mc was quite sick to point of thinking I was going to be all the time but never was and nothing else

MerlinsBeard · 24/05/2006 14:05

reassuring about hthe pains, they are like mild period pains...very mild actually, just never had it!

What is it they say? a little knowledge is a bad thing??!! If i had no MN i would just be waiting to see if it stopped/if i bled again (even thoutgh it was only tiny!) but no, i am worrying like a looN!!!

How is your cold now?

Nemo1977 · 24/05/2006 14:07

MN and internet in general does make things ten times worse..was not as into the internet when I had ds or my first 2 mcs but with missed mc and DDs pregnancy made things 100 times worse.

Cold is ok..chest still bad and have a bit of a cough..one of those annoying ones that you know buttercup syrup would soothe but cant have itSad

LadyTophamHatt · 24/05/2006 14:16

Aww bless you MoM, I'm here.
It's a very rare thing for me not to be here every dayGrin

I'm ok today, felt like absolute shit yesterday though. Couldn't face food at all, had plain pasta for dinner as everything else made me retch. Could even face a cup of tea so had a raging headache all day from caffine withdrawal.

Have felt OK today and eaten well.

It's all very weird because I seem to have one day feeling awful, then the next feeling ok, then awful again, then ok again.

Have also notice that my boobs are filling up which to a 34A cup lady is pretty cool. They're not empty flaps of skin anymore and are actually quite pert much to DH delight and horror.

Delight for the obvious reasons, Horror because they are soooooo out of bounds for him!!

Found out yesterday that my MW is on annual leave until 31st may so won't hears from her until next week at the earliest. Don't quite understand why another MW can't arrange a booking in appt for me but there you go....

Hi, just got back from hospital and had my early scan sa my little sac witha tiny heartbeat the sonographer had me panicking as she turned screen away and kept umming & aaing and then finally said I've got the picture!!) Def only 1 baby and no ectopic she had a look at the area where I had the ache and said it was a little swollen but couldn't see why! Saw Dr afterwards and he said dates may be little out but they'll confirm at 12 week scan!! Hurrah feel so relieved now just want to get to 12 weeks.

Hope eveyone who is feeling yucky feels better xx

Nemo1977 · 24/05/2006 14:33

Am so glad for everyone having positive scans but cant help it making me panic a little more...if everyone else is doing well then surely it leaves higher odds for me to mc againSad

coffeebeanz · 24/05/2006 14:48

Hello Everyone,

Wow ... what a lot of chatty mums you lot are !

Just found out I'm expecting no 3 ( DD 9, DS 6)not exactly planned but now its happened I cant help feeling pleased.

Probably due mid January which seems like a lifetime away, and so far nothing to much to grumble about, just a few aching pains and some nausea, although nothing like as bad as previous pg's.

Loads of worries though... am I too old ?(37 DH 38) is the age gap too big? what sort of car do I need to get now ?

Nemo1977 · 24/05/2006 14:53

coffeebeanz welcome..course you are not too old. We have a renault scenic which will fit 3 child seats in the back..lucky really as all mine will still be in either stage one or two seats..lol

2Happy · 24/05/2006 15:05

Ooh coffeebeanz, I need to get a new (well, 2nd hand really!) car too. A 3-door hatchback just isn't a goer with 2 kids! Anyone got any good recommendations?
I know what you mean, Nemo. With ds, we'd just seen a couple of good friends and my dsis do fine through pregnancy and birth, so I just thought, statistically, something's got to go wrong with me. Was fine Blush. But I'm almost more nervous now - I thought having been through it once I'd be more relaxed, but sometimes you wonder when your luck is going to run out... Darn it, I think it's these pg hormones making me maudlin!! (that and the thought of the next two days stuck with entire in-law clan at dh's brother's wedding, trying to pretend everything's ok and I'm not pg....Sad)

skerriesmum · 24/05/2006 15:36

Hi all,
Coffeebeanz I want to be in your shoes in a few years! This will be my 2nd and I'll be just 36 for the birth... I hope to have three and that would make me 37 or 38! So of course you're not old!
Still feeling good, to the point that "I can't believe it's true"... even though docs have confirmed it! Waiting now for June 15th, first antenatal.

jessddibs · 24/05/2006 17:15

Please try not to worry nemo, stress is meant to make things a little worse, I have been very worried to due to pains and previous mc, but for whatever reason I have become more positive by trying to have quiet time (I go to bed a bit earlier when I am not gonna drop straight off!)and think positive thoughts and try and tell myself how lucky I am to have my daughter and if the baby isn't forming healthily its not my fault its mother nature and meant to be. I am going on a bit now! lol! But it seems to be working for me, also a stroll in the fresh air, even just round the garden helps to, to clear my mind. Hi to everyone else, January is proving to be a very popular month for childbirth, it's well busy here! Booked a private scan today for 2weeks time (be approx 9 weeks) cause in my area I don't get a scan till 20 plus weeks! I nearly fainted when she told me it was £105 !!!!!! 15 mins of their time and a disc! well I really need the peace of mind.....but have now started thinking 'what if they tell me theres something wrong!?!?!' It just seems to be an ongoing no win situation. Also, anyone seen the yellow pages ad where the bloke is trying to fit a car seat into a sports car then phones for a quote on a people carrier??? Well thats my partner!! LOL!! My 5yr old is happy though, she hates being crushed in the back of the car! and is helping her daddy chose a new 'massive' one!(She's hoping!) Although, havn't told her about the baby yet, so shes thinking that she's gonna have all the back seat space to chill out in!! I really have gone on! sorry! Hope you are all keeping well.x.

Dragonhart · 24/05/2006 17:44

Glad all went ok Loubie and elliepippa.

Know how you feel Nemo, feeling rubbish today and have tried every kind of food to try and find something I fancy but no luck so far. Such a horrible taste in my mouth! Mornings and tea times are worse. Anyone know of anything that works?

2Happy I have been looking at people carriers and have heard good reviews about the Honda TR-v but only 6 seats. There seams to be lots of Ford Galaxy and Vaxhall Zafiras but don't look as nice. Have driven in a Kia (not sure what it is called) but it was really like a huge van and needed a masive area to turn but was huge inside (sorry if anyone has one!).

Loubie37 · 24/05/2006 18:20

coffeebeanz - we're in similar situations, this is my 3rd (DH's 1st) and I've got a big age gap - DD will be 15 and DS 13 when this one arrives! Also, I'm 38 so no, you're not too old!!!

We're doing a 3 day test drive in a Vauxhall Zafira next week so I'll let you know how we find it :)

Hope everyone else is well?
