Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

TinyCC · 29/03/2013 20:10

Thanks Jelly
Missy I cried at the scan. And I keep getting tearful when I hear the heartbeat. Mind you I get tearful at anything at the moment. Adverts, soaps, news articles... hormones running wild!

Slippysnow · 29/03/2013 20:15

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday and not suffering too much.

jelly how many weeks are you, very clear scan :)

Tarlia · 29/03/2013 20:42

Yup, roll on Wednesday.

Today is the first time I've not had a nap in 9 weeks! I pushed my luck and tried a bit of crochet and made my MS worse, it was the worst case of seasickness ever.

Hope you are all well. Snow here today! What's it like in the UK?

Sanjifair · 29/03/2013 20:52

Pannacotta,
Thanks very much for posting that, I hadn't seen the 2011 paper. Does look like a reasonable study. Dunno what to do now!
Probably will carry on with pregnacare.
12 weeks today. Hurry up scan day (Thurs)!

JellyCurls · 29/03/2013 22:31

slippysnow I am now 13 wk 5 days but that scan was taken at 11wk 2 days.

Pannacotta2013 · 29/03/2013 23:48

Sanjifair, I think the answer is to let small children eat dirt and hang out with animals! [bushock] [bugrin]

Rockchick1984 · 30/03/2013 09:16

Morning ladies! How's everyone feeling today?

I've had a few days of eating really badly, hopped on the scales this morning and am now 6lbs up on BFP weight Blush I was so determined not to gain a stupid amount of weight this time, but seems like I'm going to struggle again Sad I'm going to try and eat healthier and hope its just bloating and I can get it under control.

Have found a yummy healthy breakfast though that's super filling - 3 tablespoons of rolled oats, 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt (I use fat free), and a splash of fresh apple juice. Mix it in the evening and store (covered) in the fridge overnight. I've had this the last 2 mornings and been full until lunchtime which for me is a miracle! Sliced some banana onto it yesterday, this morning I mixed some blueberries in. Now just need to deal with all the rest of the eating I've been doing....

TheFalconsmistress · 30/03/2013 11:36

still don't know if I'm immune but ds is covered and in pain Sad spots on back disappeared so must not have been cp for me. fingers crossed I'm immune and not due for it

cazboldy · 30/03/2013 11:46

sounds yum rockchick Smile I lost 4kg from my booking visit to my appt at the hospital last week! Shock - just the ridiculous tiny amounts i'm eating i think - I really want something - have about 3 mouthfuls and then feel like gagging if i eat anymore - did it with a chinese last night, then my dd cooked me some eggy bread this morning and i only managed 1 bite Sad I felt rwally mean as it was lovely, and she had made a real effort!

Falcon how old is ds? My ds1 didn't have CP until he was 8 and then had it horrifically! He practically had no "normal" skin left on his face and had them in his mouth, up his nose, on his eyelids... everywhere! Called doc out in the end and they gave me some sedative medicine for him, and said to let him just sleep and sleep - Hope your ds feels better soon xxx

TheFalconsmistress · 30/03/2013 12:12

Ds is 4 caz he doesn't even like the lotion going on he screams so much its traumatising so i have just let him sleep but he is struggling he would not take any fluid in and began to hallucinate this morning Sad I eventually got him to take milk from a baby bottle Blush but he seems much brighter now if its all he can mange then i don't care who judges me he only turned 4 a few weeks ago and he has never been this ill before.

cazboldy · 30/03/2013 12:15

oh poor little love - you can get a cream aswell i believe. Deffo let him have the bottle if it helps - poor you (hugs).

also a bath with bicarb in..... quite a bit of bicarb! We were lucky, the cows have a small amount in their feed, so dh brought a sackful home! but a tub of shop bought in a bath is fine xx

Natalieand · 30/03/2013 12:20

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/03/2013 12:27

Poor little thing. Everyone is allowed to revert to being a baby when they are ill!
Glad you haven't got it. Fingers still crossed in being immune.

I woke up with an infected ear piercing (i havent worn earings for years, but it has gone red, swollen and pus filled), coughing up blood which I think was just from my nose but still yucky, then I was sick so felt like I shouldn't have bothered getting up! Our new kitchen is finished now though so enjoying being able to sit downstairs again. we spent yesterday wiping dust off everything before putting it away. Off shopping in a bit to buy food for a roast dinner with lots of veg and rhubarb crumble mmmmmm.

Motherofnations, how are you and DP doing today?

TheFalconsmistress · 30/03/2013 12:39

Ow that sounds nasty orange hope you get better soon.

caz i will try the bi carb see if it helps him thanks for the support hayle it horrid to see them in pain isn't it.

Away to pander to his every need as a mother should when your ill, hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend Thanks

Sanjifair · 30/03/2013 14:20

My ds had a bad day with his chicken pox yesterday ( and was up in the night with the itching too) but slept through last night and seems a lot brighter today. Poor thing has a spot on his willy that seems to bother him the most. We are using 'PoxClin cool mousse' which he says helps. I have also given a few doses of calpol. A friend who is a nurse told me to get Piriton as well, but I think we are through the worst so I don't think I am going to get that. Could be something you could try though TFM.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 30/03/2013 14:41

Don't worry Rockchick I've put on 12lbs!!! Now that's a weight gain!

Natalieand · 30/03/2013 18:41

It's so quiet it's almost eeeeeeerrryyyyy lol [bushock]

How is everyone? Any thing special planned for tomorrow?
