pinkr you must be really excited. Are you suffering in this heat ?

Thrilled to let you all know that bean is totally fine. We've seen a heartbeat and they measured me pretty much spot on for my dates at 7+2.

They couldn't find a reason for the bleed, so we have to mark it up as unknown for now, but there is no sign of anything untoward.

frank that's brilliant news! ! ! I bet that heart beat is the best thing you've ever heard!

Jeff my plan is basically get her out with both of us in. one piece...well i've a few things but as i've now got to be consultant led and probably induced my midwife said not to hope for too much ie being mobile etc. I know neither of us want to cut the cord, we want vit k, I don't get a choice about the placenta and pulsing cord now because of increased pph risk, oh and if I need stitches I don't want a trainee etc » we are going to be at a teaching hospital.
noks the heat is unbearable! We Scots aren't used to it you see...I'm rapidly losing my ankles and look like a walking elephant. I predict that it will be at it's hottest when I'm in delivery and it'll start snowing the day after baby arrives Grin

That is wonderful news Frank. Absolutely fantastic.

Pinkr I was induced for GD, if you want to see my birth plan I'd be happy to send it to you.

pinkr · 19/07/2013 21:57

That would be great thanks! The midwife wouldn't discuss it with me and said I needed to speak to the consultant. I know a plan us really just a wish list but it would be nice to have!

Hi, this thread fell off my active conversations list so I didn't realise there was chat happening.

sinky I will snuggle up to you and hold your hand with one hand, and wallop you with fish - but not shark or marlin - until we get these scans done.

Is it too soon to buy a giant pillow? I can't sleep because I keep rolling onto my boobs. And how big are they going to get? I'm already thinking I could do with a bigger bra.

Report
SinkyMalinks · 19/07/2013 23:26

I am sleeping in a sports bra/crop top for the same reason twink. I only have 1 bra that seems to fit now. And it's a non so pretty 4 boob look anyway.

But I can't temp fate by buying anything yet (in my head at least).

Do you know how many weeks you are?

Report
MsJupiterJones · 19/07/2013 23:38

Will do Pinkr when I'm on my computer.

I just got my period for the first time in 18 months. Felt very strange, had a moment of panic wondering what to do. It was not a surprise exactly as i had lots of EWCM a couple of weeks ago and bf has stopped Sad. Perhaps only ESH will understand that I felt both happy to think I am ovulating and sad to think one more egg is gone. Ok actually that does sound a little silly I know. But I can't help thinking the last time my body gave up an egg it became my beautiful boy. And yet, because the whole problem I had conceiving him was because I wasn't ovulating, it it something to be cheered about if I now am - even though we need to wait a year before ttc again.

Oh dear I think I have rambled on a bit incoherently. It is just a strange mix of emotions and I am tired.

I've just realised something else that makes sense. It's the first period I've had in nearly 3 years when I'm not ttc. That's the other reason it feels funny. I didn't even think of it as a droid because it's not like those days of warfare. It's just. There.

That makes perfect sense Jupiter. I have heard that pregnancy can sometimes correct irregular cycles, but I don't know how true that is.

Twinks and Sinky, someone on the March 2014 thread was recommending bra extenders which you can buy for a few quid on Amazon. They extend the back, but apparently make a difference to the cup size too. Don't ask me how it works, but people say they do help and if it means being able to hang on buying new bras for a bit longer I figure they are worth the minimal cost.

TWinklyLittleStar · 20/07/2013 08:29

MsJ I simply can't imagine a period coming and not being another crushing blow. I hope this means your body has got its act together.

sinky by date from lmp I'm 7+2, but I was still testing negative on CD36, it was CD40 when I got my incredibly unexpected positive. So looking at dates we shagged I reckon I conceived around CD26ish. Which would make me around 5+5 I think. Have you any idea how far along you actually are?

Hope everyone managed a good night's sleep last night.

SinkyMalinks · 20/07/2013 08:35

I heard irregular cycles being kick started by a pregnancy. Well, we can live in hope...

So got scanned and GP-ed yesterday. After all my fretting, am about 5 weeks. So no 1st trimester avoidance! Was a bit flat after. I'd really hoped to see a heartbeat and know that there was something there. But I'm being daft, aren't I? Was a blob in the right place. And going back in 10 days (the day after twink)

And my GP... From what you guys say, I think my GP is stuck in the 60's. I had to see a dr to hand over a pee sample for them to check, and she was totally flummoxed by the weeks from conception/las period thing (as am I). But I have a number for the midwifes. And the GP wants me to ring back with updates as I have a "lovely story" Hmm

Last night wasn't too bad, we've got a tower fan so that was running next to the bed all night! Normally I'm a light sleeper and even a fan on a quiet setting would keep me awake. However, at the moment I am sleeping like a log! I think I must have got about 8 hours last night, plus a 2 hour nap in the afternoon Blush

X post twink. Sonographer though it was 4+6 yesterday (really? So accurate? Hum...)

So, I'm thinking dead on 5 today.

TWinklyLittleStar · 20/07/2013 08:42

Jealous! I'm not sleeping well at all at the minute, tossing and turning for ages then waking up stupidly early.

sinks I was the same 10 days ago when I had a scan. Nothing to see and I had very much hoped there would be something. Of course I'm fretting that there won't be anything the next time either. When I'm not feeling queasy or the boob pain ebbs I'm scared that's the start of the end.

Report
FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 20/07/2013 08:45

Sinks, my fertility nurse told me the dating scans have an accuracy of +/-4 days at this stage. She told me because she didn't want me to worry if they date me as being further along than I actually am and then the scan showed "smaller" than they expected. From my understanding, if you don't jump in and tell them you have had fertility treatment/have long cycles, they will just assume you conceived on Day 14 and date you based on your LMP. If they'd done that with me they'd have been expecting me to be over 8 weeks by now, which I know I'm not!

Report
JethroTull · 20/07/2013 11:05

I could have slept forever from 4-13 weeks. Used to come home from work, eat something & be in bed most nights before 8pm!

BabyJeff is really starting to boot me from the inside, I can see my bump move. It's weird & lovely at the same time. SmileSmile

Pinkr thanks for the birth plan info. I think I want to be able to move around as much as possible but like you say the main goal is for a baybee to arrive & both of us to be ok.

Report
JethroTull · 20/07/2013 11:07

And as for dates the hospital have dated me a week further on than I am. Because we had IVF we know exactly when conception was but sonographers go on the size apparently. I figure it will turn up when it's ready.

I don't mind starting it.

Was at a BBQ this afternoon. SSG's friends had their second child at 32 weeks - that's 3 weeks away for me! I'm not ready for that to happen! BabyJeff needs to chill out for a while longer.
