Peabody, I went to a place called Ultrasound Now. They have quite a few clinics so depending on where you live you should be near one. The one I went to was in Stockport. They were really nice, have me loads of scan photos afterwards too Smile which was fab. It does cost around £90 but for somebody like me who panics a LOT it was priceless.... Although that's not to say im not worrying now ... I am. But then I look at my scan pics and it gives me a bit of a boost. I'd defo recommend them.

Kittenkatzen · 18/02/2013 18:50

Also can't believe the balls of some people, it's such a personal thing to ask as well. I was asked if I was broody today by a colleague as a joke and I spluttered my way through that so no idea how I'd cope with direct questioning! Shock

Feeling distinctly queasy on the train home tonight. Blurgh. Props to all you ladies feeling like this (and worse) constantly.

jennimoo · 18/02/2013 18:50

Down here near Portsmouth it was only £60! I'd google for local places then search mumsnet to see if anyone's used them.

frogchops · 18/02/2013 18:53

Anyone get stringy yellowy jelly like discharge?? This is new. I'm a bit Blush

Readytosettle · 18/02/2013 19:12

Oh no, the one thing I hadn't googled is the private ultrasound clinic....booked with my ultra baby for £75 and have now googled it, sadly it was not positive! Now I'm fretting again :-(

MeanMrsMustard · 18/02/2013 19:18

Frogs, Ive had that too. Blush

astroming · 18/02/2013 20:26

I also have that too Frogs...goes away then comes back, have no idea what it is tho!

I also used Ultrasound now in stockport last week for an early reassurance scan, the Sonongrapher Emma is brilliant.

I used them with my daughter four years ago and she recognised me! I ended up having it done internally as my womb tilts back so she couldnt get a clear picture the other way. Best 95.00 ive ever spent.

Is anybody else suffering from headaches, i get them everyday now:-( Have tried drinking non stop but then its the loo ever half hour!

Pinkbump3 · 18/02/2013 20:27

I thinks it's rude and insensitive of people to ask you if your pg I mean its ok to think it but rude to put someone on the spot! Last weekend I had a 2 hr coach trip with dds dance class to a comp and I gagged and boked the whole way there pretending to have travel sickness. I know 2 of the mums didn't believe me but they have had the good grace to not ask me upfront and I'm grateful for that. But if I was asked upfront I will simply say what makes you think that! And they will get a no! Because I'm not ready to tell anyone yet!! Don't feel pressured it's yours to tell when the time is right.

KamikazeeKid · 18/02/2013 20:32

Frog and meanmrs....is this your first??? If so you are gonna love the mucus plug Grin

I've just had a lot of cm in general...

Chocolateporridge · 18/02/2013 20:40

Hello! I've just come across this thread, can I join in Smile

I'm just over 9 weeks and have my scan at 11 weeks for some reason. This will be 2nd dc, I have 2yo dd already. First time round I had awful hyperemesis for 15 weeks but this time I'm only (only?!) having all day nausea, no vomiting, thank goodness.

I look about 4 months though and am really struggling to hide it, but don't want to tell anyone until I've had my scan. With my dd I had to tell people at 6 weeks because I was so ill. Am going to have to get the maternity clothes out of the loft this week, although I did get two pairs of fab stretchy jeans from ASDA that feel soooo comfy.

frogchops · 18/02/2013 20:41

KK yes it's my first, was just reeeeally stressing that some sort of plug was making its way out at 9 weeks! If there's anything to stress about, I'm on it! Is this normal then? I've read stuff about green cm too, eeeek!

EmmaDee · 18/02/2013 20:46

Green cm, plug?!! What's this?

batfuttocks · 18/02/2013 20:48

Phew! Twelve week scan done. They have dated me at 12+6 which makes me feel a little less mortified by the sheer size of my pot belly. Nuchal done and risk is less than one in fifty thousand, which is a huuuuuge relief. Fingers crossed for those of you approaching scans in the next few days and weeks! I was so nervous today it was ridiculous.

astroming · 18/02/2013 20:49

Hi chocolate porridge!

Someone on an earlier post said Primark had some stretchy jeggings and a maternity range i didnt know about. Will be off there on Friday to pick some things up, am only nearly 9 weeks to but im so bloated and my normal skinny jeans dig in!

All i can think about already is by the time Christmas comes i want to be wearing something lovely again ha.

MeanMrsMustard · 18/02/2013 20:49

Kami - yes this is my first! Mucus plug eh? I've heard of it, but not felt the desire to research into it yet!
I'm actually not that easily grossed out. I'm a nursery teacher and am used to dealing with other peoples bodily fluids etc. I'm just not that used to discussing my own. Ah, the joys of pregnancy!

astroming · 18/02/2013 20:51

Brill news on your scan. Can i ask, do they tell you the measurement of the nuchal fold yourself or just give you the score. I' d just be interested to know myself.

HettySunshine · 18/02/2013 20:58

I had my booking appointment today. It went really good. The midwives (there were two) were both lovely and I've got all my notes, bounty pack etc. and my scan is two weeks today when I'll be 12+2 and I can't wait! Can't wait to see littley swimming about.

Today is a good day. Grin

Congrats on your scan batty. So pleased it went wonderfully.

I can hardly bring myself to ask, but what is the mucus plug?

HettySunshine · 18/02/2013 20:59

It went really well, even!

WaggyBlueElf · 18/02/2013 21:02

Hi Rosy, congratulations! Have you had your scan yet?

I can't wait for mine, just for the reassurance. I've not been feeling as sick today so of course am left fearing the worst, though i'm probably just getting over it - 12+2 now. Trousers are starting to feel tight though (but there's a good chance that's mainly chocolate!) Assuming all's well next week, will have to start thinking about going shopping soon. Thanks for clothing suggestions so far, any more most welcome as shopping is one of my least favourite pastimes...

Good luck to everyone having scans, glad for those whose scans have gone well Smile

CharlW1 · 18/02/2013 21:09

Great news with your scan bat! must be such a relief! I have mine next week - I am .so nervous.

Isn't the mucus plug something that comes away just before labour? I remember my sister going into way tmi about what it looked like Blush

Dorita75 · 18/02/2013 21:14

Congratulations batfuttocks great news. 11 days and counting till my scan....

Also heard of mucus plug and not investigating any further at present time!

Not sure if my nausea has eased slightly because I'm nearing 12wks or whether it's my wristbands, I'm not taking them off to check, did a few wks ago and felt so much worse. Think they take a few days but do seem work for me.

Do anyone else's nipples seem to have a mind of their own?! Mine were huge yesterday, less today, seem to alter daily!

WhizzsMum · 18/02/2013 21:52

I dare not remove my wristbands either. Forgot to put it back on after shower the other night and then went to bed and felt so much worse when I woke. Bot making that mistake again.

Note to self and all other ms suffers, do not watch embarassing bodies, cue major nausea!

For those discussing mucus plug, I think.it should normally 'show' within 24hrs prior to labour starting. But mine never appeared, but I think it might have something to do with my waters not breaking either! Plenty more to be worrying about until then. I've still got 9 days until I see a midwife Sad

Babyboo79 · 18/02/2013 22:05

Great news batfuttocks, must be a huge relief.

Just ordered 2 pairs of maternity jeans from the Gap sale, bargain! Thanks for the tip.
Hopefully they'll arrive before hols.

batfuttocks · 18/02/2013 22:11

We had the addmark scan, which gives you a full breakdown of all the bloods and also the nasal bone and nuchal fold. Ours was 1.9mm apparently.

Do you know, all this talk of mucus, I have no recollection of the mucus ever passing with my two. Maybe I've just blanked out the horror? Smile

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 19/02/2013 00:45

batfuttocks those are phenomenal odds. I got 1:9147.
