It's non-identical twins that run in families. I have no idea what's gone on with me as there are no twins on either side. May well be hyper ovulation after the miscarriage.

I'm properly back in full blown neurotic mode. It's nearly three weeks since the last scan, and nearly three weeks until the next one. Need to step away from google and keep busy until DH is back tomorrow.

Creamtea1 · 17/02/2013 11:10

6am wake up vom this morning :(
Feel awful and a nasty headache on top. The family is expecting one if my roasts today just don't know if I can face it!

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 17/02/2013 12:54

Eek well done!

Waggy welcome - I'm due same as you and it's our 1st too Smile

I am seriously looking for maternity clothes. My work uniform is fine but I actually have NOTHING to wear other that pjs.

Is anyone else getting ridiculously puffed out doing normal things like hanging washing out?

andadietcoke · 17/02/2013 13:00

Rosy for me it's stairs. I'm not fit, but I've never struggled with stairs before!

I need maternity clothes too. Live in PJs whenever I'm in the house. Jeans are okay unless I'm sat down for long, and black work trousers that I rescued from the back of the wardrobe as they've been too big for years are fine as they're quite high waisted. For some reason maternity ware is on my 'things I can't buy/think/talk about yet because I might jinx things' list though!

badguider · 17/02/2013 13:36

I'm still jogging (don't flame me!) and cycling around town. I am puffed in the first 3-4 mins but then my heart rate goes up and I actually feel really good - although obviously going really slow compared to before. I think that it's just getting started that's harder so I've been warming up really gently.
Persevering through the first minutes of puffing makes me feel so much better - less nauseous and less tired believe it or not!

jemimahpuddleduck · 17/02/2013 13:50

Taken a massive step back today started feeling better all last week now 10+2 and feel dreadful been really sick this morning now under a blanket on the sofa looking out at what a lovely day it is.

I bought some maternity trousers and they feel lovely!

WhizzsMum · 17/02/2013 14:28

I believe it is non-identical twins that run in families, which we have on both sides. My mum was a twin and two of my DH's sisters are twins. dietcoke did you suspect you were having twins?

I'd like to think I'm quite fit but generally having issues with many things, out of breath definitely on the stairs and changing all the bedding in the house yesterday was like trying to run a marathon! A king size 15tog duvet was much more than I could handle on my own!!!

andadietcoke · 17/02/2013 14:32

Nope. It was a complete shock. I didn't start throwing up until after I found out, and I didn't match any of creamtea's twin questionnaire criteria either.

After having read up on it, it's most likely down to a highish BMI and/or weird ovulation after my miscarriage.

juniper904 · 17/02/2013 14:45

Gap are doing a sale on some maternity clothes- jeans reduced from £47 to £13! here

fl0b0t · 17/02/2013 15:00

babyboo a friend has given me an old mothercare kind of sportsbra/crop top which is super comfy (it's in dress sizes- a 12 but perfect on my (usually 32D, but smaller currently as I've lost weight) boobs).

I'm nervous about maternity clothes as I don't know "how" to buy them. I don't want to keep buying new things every few months, so how do you choose sizes?!

I'm currently still (rather) down on weight with the sickness etc, and have lost about 1 inch all over, but yet still popping out of my (admittedly previously tightest) jeans and needing top button undone!

Welcome to the new people!

kim I've learnt very quickly not to over do it.... good days are for enjoying pottering about but no more- if you do too much the sickness comes back with vengence. I've found this out the hard way too :-(

Still feeling mighty awful, though some (polite) friends have said they think I'm looking "radiant"...... Not actually being sick so much but feeling awful and retching constantly, especially when the back of my neck (no I've no idea why there!) get too hot!

I am absolutely not blooming. My (also previously bad) skin is not looking very good (despite coming off acne medication when TTC because of risks to baby, and doctor assuring me that my skin would be great during pregnancy- haha). I love the idea of being pregnant, and enjoying getting husband to rub in lots of anti-stretchmark oil, but actually feeling really really really crappy right now :-( Can anyone cheer me up?

Tat71 · 17/02/2013 15:45

Hi Flobot, re maternity wear, I'm expecting my third child and, based on my past experience, I find over-the-bump bands on jeans/ trousers are the only ones that don't fall down as your bump gets bigger. H&M jeans have always worked for me. Size wise, I'd go with what fits you well now, other than your bump, you may not put on a huge amount more, and too-big clothes are a pain. Long tops, whether they're designed for maternity or not, are generally most comfortable. I bought one (expensive) Isabella Oliver thick scoop necked long t shirt on my first pregnancy, and wore it a huge amount on both pregnancies before, and will again: material is very good, washes well, is comfy and flattering. Hope this helps!

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 17/02/2013 17:20

Juniper - do gap sizes come up normal or small. I'm 16 mostly but 18 in some shops. Horse woman's thighs.

Babyboo79 · 17/02/2013 17:26

Thanks fl0b0t I'll have a look in mothercare. I have to say the M&S one is actually pretty comfy too.

Had the early scan today and thankfully all is well. Beany was wriggling around and had a nice healthy heartbeat. The sonographer put me at 10+5 so nearly a week ahead of my dates, though I'm pretty sure I know when I ovulated so I'll probably take an average until the dating scan.

We popped in to mothercare to look at prams afterwards as it's starting to feel real now. Still feel like a fraud though until I have a noticeable bump!

andadietcoke · 17/02/2013 17:39

Yay babyboo that's brilliant!

CharlW1 · 17/02/2013 17:52

That's great news Babyboo. I have been on a bit of a shopping spree today - Tk maxx have some really lovely oversized tops. I also bought some bigger leggings from River Island - they are not maternity but have a really thick waist band which are so comfy. I'm not buying maternity clothes just yet (11.2 weeks) but feeling so big that I might have to after my scan on the 28th Feb - though I do think my bump is definitely made up of my addiction to hoola hoops (can't get enough) as well as baby!

LexyMa · 17/02/2013 18:04

Fl0b0t I had a bra like that last time, was super comfy, I wore it at night in bed, and through for about three months of breast feeding too - had a deep v at the front so was quite easy to pop a boob out when required. I bought a couple of primark crop tops a couple of weeks ago for sleeping in as my boobs we feeling sore flopping to the side if I was on my side, but they'll be no good for feeding in.

Am also breathless - I read the 10-13 weeks chapter of a "pregnancy week by week" book last night (a few years old but not too dated) and she says it's because our bodies are working really hard to make all the extra blood that the placenta requires, and having to get lots of oxygen on board. Although the baby is only three inches long at 12 weeks, the uterus overall is grapefruit sized, and all the extra stuff that is being built is pretty complex bioengineering!

John Lewis own brand do larger cup sizes. I normally shop at bravissimo but I think their range of maternity isn't so good. Also look out foe Elle McPherson in the sale. Small back sizes with large cups. I only look with sad eyes as I am 36f

LexyMa · 17/02/2013 18:22

this was the one I had - reviews very mixed, but it worked for me.

Wincher · 17/02/2013 19:20

I have been feeling really nauseous again this weekend, yuck. Am also at the totally exhausted stage and feel like doing anything is too much effort. It will pass soon, I hope...

CheeseStrawCraving · 17/02/2013 20:05

Rosy, I think if anything Gap comes up a little large. I am a 12 in normal clothes and I buy a small in their t-shirts. They fit well, and I buy larger if I want 'comfy', which I think may happen soon! So buy your normal size!

In other news, I have developed ms. WTF?! I am 11w today and have woken up retching the last two days. I thought I'd escaped. Or do you think it is something else? Hmmm....

Whyriskit · 17/02/2013 20:35

Totally agree re the over the bump jeans - I found myself constantly hitching up the ones which weren't! I still have a few bits from last time but I lent a lot of it to a colleague who charity shopped them Angry .
Jojo maman bebe stuff is good, especially if you can get it in the sale.

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 17/02/2013 20:46

Ooh I might treat myself to some gap jeans. I've never bought gap ever as I thought they were a skinny shop.

My belly is grapefruit sized with a 6 pack of hula hoops

badguider · 17/02/2013 20:56

Those gap jeans are nice but there are only sizes 4,6 and 8 in the ones I like. I guess i'll wait till I grow out of my current jeans (I've got a pair of size 14s that will last a while as i'm only a 12 really).

Readytosettle · 17/02/2013 20:56

Rosy- not sure if this applies to maternity clothes, but gap have a 'curvy' fit for their jeans. So you can buy a size 16 or a '16 curvy' which has more room in the thighs and bum.

Found a novel way of detracting from ms....today I baked cakes and ended up gorging myself on left over icing/brownie trimmings...now feel seriously sick but at least I can put it down to stuffing my face :-)

No bump for me here, but I've always had a little pot belly so I guess I'll be a late show.

Babyboo79 · 17/02/2013 21:07

I'm just trying to pack for a week in the sun in a weeks time. I've tried on my usual summer wardrobe (to double check) and the trousers/jeans feel too tight and uncomfortable already Sad Could be the enormous roast dinner I ate before hand....

Tempted to buy some maternity jeggings online to take away with me. At least then I'll have room for all the holiday eating!
