Morning all

I'm so jealous of all you peeps starting mat leave Envy Just saying to my chap yest dont think I'm going to last till 2nd June!!

Glad that other peeps are washing there baby stuff too been dying to do it for ages but keep thinking its too early yet! With this lovely weather how could I not? Smile Especially as we now have a washing line! Only took him a year to put it up Angry Well as least having a baby beens he's slowly but surely doing the DIY now!

Hear you all on the sore hips, someone told me yesterday I'm starting to waddle like "a proper pregnant lady" Blush not quite sure how to take that!!

laters!!

HumphreysCorner · 30/04/2006 14:25

puddytat-my tiny Mothercare store doesn't ever stock wallpaper but the one in Hull (about 45 mins away) does but when I rang them they said we do normally stock it but there is no stock which ties in with the online stock. Have just looked on Ebay and there is someone selling 80 inches only of border and 65 inches of wallpaper. I will give it another 2 weeks then will go to a wallpaper shop and look through the binders. There must be something with giraffes, elephants and hippos on it to nearly match.

DH busy putting ceiling paper up-hip, hip hooray!!!!

Hope everyone has a good Bank Holiday. Feel so tired as nighttimes are truly a nightmare as I am waking every 1 1/2 hours for a wee. When DD2 is born at least it will be every 2-3 hours for a feed so more sleep Grin.

Byee for now

God, i don't even have a room for the baby yet. i'm been forced to move back in to my mums house with my bloke and her spare room has damp and i cant fix it at the moment, worried about breathing it in!
Also, have been so upset by all the really RUDE people in my town that think its ok to elbow me out of the way in the supermarket. Didn't mind before, but im pretty large and i waddle like a massively waddle-y thing!
OK, rant over!
Just think, the longer you leave your maternity then the later you have to go back.
Thanks for listening my bloke thinks i'm just being emotional.
Samx

Hi everyone

Hope you are all having a good bank holiday wkend. It's nice up here in Scotland for a change lol.Been away on my hols and it was great but i will never ever take my eldest with us again.Have already asked my mum to come and stay next year if we go away.Nightmare hormonal teen and hormonal pg mum,not a good idea.

I will be working until the last minute i think (due 23rd) prob stop on the 14th and have the 6 months off afterwards.
Will be doing the spare room up next weekend for dd as i'm going to try and get her out of my bed and into her own room, baby will share with her so can't be too girly in case new baby is a boy.
Envy at you all washing clothes etc,i don't know what we are having so i have bought 3/4 sleepsuits vests etc in white and will just have a few of dd's things in case it's a girl and will just go shop later if its a boy.
Got my glucose test on Thurs so will know soon if i can go for my home birth or not.
Take care everyone xx

Hi all Smile

Hospital tour was good, was nicer than I had been imagining and all the staff seemed really friendly. Should have seen all of us on the tour though, all first time parents and looked petrified!! Its nice to be able to picture where we will be and they really encouraged taking as much stuff in as you want. Oh and they said take your own pillows because the hospital is always short of them and its nice to have them as a comfort from home.
I've started feeling sicky again, thought I had got throught that stage and didn't realise it could come back again but is quite common apparently. Oh well 9 weeks to go Smile

Enjoy your bank holiday Smile

Thought I'd got a bug as feeling quite nauseous again. Glad it's quite normal as don't remember it last time.

Evening Girlies...

Havent logged on for a week due to feeling knackered and crap, but its fab to catch up on everyones news...

Welcome to new July-ers.. we should definitely apply to record breakers now!

HC and Puddy.. I'm a baby jungle too!!! Am far too lazy to go for wall paper etc though and as house is fairly new and doesnt need painting yet, am just going for the curtains and packs of the jungle stickers that you can peel off!!! Have got the lampshade and cute bedding though. Since I've got that everyone is buying things with giraffes on too!!! That just reinforces my enormous baby image!!! Its definitely going to be big, as my bump is huge, i am 5'11 and dh is 6'2! I have easily topped two stone in weight also!!!

Chat2Ali... you said about a hundred posts back that you were having crappy heartburn... well i went whingeing to my midwife who thoughtfully got me five litres of peptac,(which seems to have same ingredients) on prescription... Might be worth mentioning it to the doc as it may save you some money. Dh thinks i gulp it down like an alcoholic!... but i couldnt do without it at the moment.

I've also started getting fat old lady ankles... In the morning they look normal, but after a day at work, I look hideous! Has anyone else had this? Have so far been lucky with stretch marks, as have been plastering clarins pregnancy oil on like mad, but i'm waiting for the day when they start to pop up... have loads of faint ones on hips from younger weight loss days...

Boobs still leaking also!!!! Nice... actually dripping at night now, which is attractive!

Is anyone else working up to mid june, or are all you lazy buggers finishing at the beginning?! I feel cheated!!! Grin

Sorry for such a long ramble.... going to do the loo roll test now!

Hugs to all x

janeOT · 01/05/2006 12:36

Hey all

Hope you enjoying the bank holiday (Shame about the weather!!!)

Bumpybel so gllad you mentioned the ankle thing! Just last night i was sat on the sofa wondering where my bl**dy ankles had gone to!

I too have gone for baby jungle but painted the walls! Cant be doing with all that papering business! GOOD NEWS LADIES he's put the black out blind up at last took a small argument, swearing and banging around (on his half) but its done! YEAH!! Grin

I'm also feeling really sick again like my 1st trimester reasurred that this is normal tho it really doenst make it any more manageable! Sad

Speak soon

bumpybel · 01/05/2006 18:38

Afternoon!

DH is working and I've had my parents over, to help link the jungle curtains and blackout things... They've gone now, which is good as there's only so much in the way of motherly opinions I can take in relation to what to put where and what happened in her day!!! My poor father volunteered to mow the lawn, probably to get some peace and quiet!!! I mentioned that I'd bought in some sudocreme and colic stuff to start getting a mini medicine cabinet going and even that was open to criticism! I know they're very excited about becoming gransparents and alot of it is trying to be helpful... maybe i'm just a bit irritable!!

Jane... Its nice to hear someone else has elephant ankles! Normally I've got quite nice feet, but by the end of the day, they look like something you see on one of those 'britains fattest women' programmes where there's a bed bound woman with enormous legs and ankles! What colour paint did you go for to go with the jugle theme? I'm hoping that those wall stickers will do!!!

Went to Boots on Sat and got loads of freebies from joining the parenting club... girls if you havent joined, join up NOW! I had a free no 7 mascara, free lovely pregnancy bubble bath and tripple points on everything... might hire a tens machine from there too... not sure whether to get one.

This heartburn is doing my head in!Angry

bumpybel · 01/05/2006 18:44

Good morning lovely ladeez. Well I don't know where the weather men get their info from but we had a great weekend, no rain at all apart from at night! Took DS swimming on Saturday, then we went to the seaside (West Wittering) on Sunday, took a picnic and a bucket and spade DS LOVED it - it was a bit nippy but no rain so fine.

So all in all a great weekend. And now I am officially in the month I finish work, hurray.

can't beleive this craze for baby Jungle, I've got people I work with who are desparately hunting down the border that is now out of stock! I haven't seen it it must be lovely!
We used those stick ons mentioned, Winnie the Pooh ones, they are great, and you can just peel them off when they are outgrown.

I am finding sleeping quite uncomfortable now too girls, wake up aching all over from sleeping on one side or another. If I flip onto my back I wake myself up as I can't breathe, and DH says i am snoring like a goat, which is attractive. Took a long look at myself in the mirror last night naked, and I am definitely as big as I was at full term last time, bump is straight out in front and really achy at the top by the end of the day, feels like I need guy ropes to hold it up! I have put on 24 pounds so far, with 12 weeks to go...........

Going baby shopping with my sister this weekend, more for her really as she is starting from scratch but i'm sure I'll pick up a few bits and pieces! It relly hasn't sunk in yet that i'm going to have another one...need to get in the loft and get all the baby clothes down, that will help.

Bye for now.

lol bloss at your guy ropes ... i've been suggesting some sort of scaffold on wheels to rest bump on ... i'm feeling really heavy down low ... we went to the heath (hampstead) on sunday and walking up hill is becoming increasingly difficult , i've put on 20lbs and am starting to outgrow my maternity clothes Shock - what to do

also ditto with sleeping on my back - any suggestions to help stay off my back???
have a good week xxx

kay1981 · 02/05/2006 12:12

Hi everyone

WOW baby jungle fever or what?

We've decided to opt for Winnie The Pooh, but it's all "old" pooh, not Disney pooh and I've just finished a cross stitch in Disney pooh - grrr!!

Has anyone bought anything from Babies R Us, I just assumed we'd go to Mothercare, cause, we'll just seems like we should, there really aren't that many places that sell breast pumps and stuff anyway, but DH said how expensive certain things looked and wondered was there an alternative?

I've just been on t'interweb and looked, and yes, some things are loads cheaper (the Johnson and Johnson toiletries box - £20 instead of £35 at Mothercare!!), but I don't know - has anyone else had experiences of Babies R Us and do Mothercare price match?

Anyhoo, I'm working until 30th June, so ages to go for me, but am dropping to 3 days per week from today, so yey!! Grin

I'm 10 loo roll sheets, but seem to have been that for ages and put on 22lbs and I'm 28 weeks tomorrow Shock

TTFN

xx

IamBlossom · 02/05/2006 12:24

I have bought from Babies R Us and Kiddicare.com and Blooming marve and Mothercare, and my suggestion is if it is cheaper then go for it. Mothercare capitalise on the fact that people go for it as a safe option, and I think Babies R Us are just as reputable Kay........

OP posts:
OldieMum · 02/05/2006 12:28

We bought lots of things from BabiesRUs last time around and I found them cheaper than Mothercare. Given that we're talking mostly about branded goods, you are quite safe on the quality front. The clothes are fine, too. Last time round, they had nice short-legged bodysuits that were excellent for DD in the hot weather. If they still have them, I'll be stocking up.

Wallace · 02/05/2006 12:58

Hello everyone :)

I have another detailed fetal scan tomorrow, so wish me good luck! I'm sure everything will be okay though.

kay1981 · 02/05/2006 13:09

Thanks guys, I think we'll go and buy from Babies R Us and then anything I can't get, we'll go to Mothercare, like you say Oldiemum, it's nearly all branded stuff anyway, so think we're safe.

Good luck Wallace, I'm sure everything is fine, but I'll be thinking bout you anyway.

TTFN Wink

Annie29 · 02/05/2006 14:53

Hello Ladies,

Hope everyone is feeling good today. Good luck Wallace with your scan tomorrow, I'm sure it was all be grand.

8 bog roll sheets this morning. Felt very woozy on the way to work, I was sitting on the tube (v hot as usual) and just went all hot and dizzy, then nauseous for a few minutes, then it passed, and it was back to really hot and dizzy. Was about to get off and ask one of the nice station guard Underground people (cough) for some help when I was okay again. Phew!! Must remember to bring water with me in future.

Also working til 30th June, Kay, but will probably skive off a lot and pretend to have antenatal classes and appointments!! Shh!

Looks like our new flat is going through, surveys being done, etc etc. Won't be moving til after I pop though, they'll just have to wait for LO to arrive...

Hope everyone is ok!!!

Annie (29+5)
