Good morning ladies and bumps.
Ooops. It looks like I have fallen off the list again. Who is keeping track of the "master" list?

It looks like shaping up for a beautiful day today in my neck of the woods. Hope everyone has a happy and healthy day

Hi,

Like Chat2Ali, I've fallen off the list too!!

kay1981, 26.07.06, age 24.

Got my midwife coming on Saturday, the only thing I like about her visits, is that now we get to hear baby's heartbeat which is so amazing. DH has never heard it, so that will be nice.

I think my LO is putting it's feet under my ribs to stretch, cause every so often, I feel as though there is pressure there, but it's a weird sort of feeling, weird but nice too.

As this is my first baby, I don't know if this is "normal", but as much as I enjoy being pregnant, I sometimes wish it was all over and baby was here and I could do all the stuff I've spent months reading about, maybe it's just me!!

Very itchy boobs recently too, trying to scratch discretly just doesn't work either - LOL!!

Hello girls!

Welcome newbies! JeannieG - you're due on the same day as me!

Bizarrely, bump has got bigger but I seem to have gone down on the loo roll measurement to 7.5 - think it's redistributing itself! (Either that or I had a preghead moment and can't count to save my life!)

I lov reading all your posts it makes my day in work much brighter.

It was DH birthday for us LOL with the fireworks though.

Itchy boobs for me too but at least this time they dont hurt, I had to wear a bra 24/7 from about week 12 with my 1st.

Humphreyscorner, I suggest giving your DH a ready meal like a lasagne or something to do for your tea, Tesco's have some nice fresh ones for only a few £'s he can just pop it in the oven, wait 30 mins whatever take it out, put it on some plates, ready to eat not too hard and you deserve to be looked after. Or if that is no good, give him the phone and get a take away, anything so you dont have to do the cooking, put your feet up.

Hi everyone

Knew that this was our new thread with the loo roll comment LOL Everyone keeps looking at me weird when I say I'm 8.5 sheets. Then even weirder when I explain the loo roll test. [wink-

Had a great day yesterday at Aquanatal. Also had a tutorial last night so feeling totally knackered. Jersey you asked what I was studying. I'm doing a BA Hons, which I hope to use to go on and do the PGCE (teacher training). I'm studying mainly Classical and Religious Studies with a bit of science thrown in too. Which should be good for a Primary school teacher.

Had our first antenatal class this morning which was good. All first time mums, except me, so they kept asking me 'Does it really hurt?' DH came and has learnt some massage techniques, so will get him practising those later.

Hi to all those of you that have recently joined the group. We're all quite mad here Grin

As for itchy boobs, me too. Doesn't help them being so big. Now a 36H Shock, so they get hot as well as itchy. I'm trying to put of another trip to Bravissimo, until just before 'Blob' appears. Then I can get fitted for bf bras.

Hi everyone,

What, in your opinions, are absolutely necessary for your maternity bag to take to hospital?
What could you not do without?

I think for me it's make-up, but only because I work in the hospital where I'm going to have LO, so I don't want people I work with, coming down to see me and me looking like death warmed up, probably just coming out of the shower, dripping wet hair and mascara down my face!! - Ooh aren't I painting a lovely picture LOL!!

Also, it was 6th November for us too!!

Hi all,
LOL at the loo roll. I am definitely 11 sheets. Just calculated my conception date as 11 October. I was sure it was the 14th though as we'd been to see the Balamory Road show and I thought that the combined aphrodisiacal powers of Archie and Spencer may have helped......
Hospital must haves - hair straighteners and good book/music. Oh, and deffo big pantsGrin

Hospital Must Haves - I would second a bit of slap, essential for those all important first photos of you and bump which EVERYbody sees. I took my own camera too, to stage some piccies which are now the best ones of DS when first born. I would also highly recommend lip balm, at least 3 pairs of really comfy PJs and slippers for traipsing around the ward. Take hair bands if you have long hair and a good book.

Puddy, I am really interested in what I need to do to train for primary school teaching, can you advise? I have a B Soc Sci in Media, Culture and Society (yes that's why I work in IT - go figure) would that be sufficient/appropriate to then do a year of the PG whatsit for teaching? Do you have a place lined up already? When are you looking to start? Can you do the year part time? How intensive is it?

Went swimming again this morning, feel grrrreat this afternoon now, will be flagging by 5pm though.

xx

Hi Kay I would say lots of sanitary towels as last time I was using 2 at a time Blush. Baby grows in different sizes as I was told to expect 7-8lb baby and he was 6lb 3 and DH had to go out to find premature baby clothes as everything was massize on him.

Depending on how long you are in lots of nappies ( my sil ran out).

Nipple shields if planning on b feeding in case of problems as it is supposed to make it easier.

Ear plugs for before hand in case you need a stay in hopsital as they are very noisy at night.

Puddy I'm doing Archaeology Certificate so not quite as much work as a BA Hons. I did a BA Hons finishing back in 1995. That must be difficult to do part time. I would like to do a masters after this but don't think there is anyway we could afford it, or that I could fit it in as I will still need to work after this baby.

Hospital Must Haves: Huge big sanitary towels and disposable knickers. Just throw the whole lot away then when you need a change. And slippers so you don't walk on the manky floors (where people have dropped their disposable knickers...). All you need for baby is nappies, a couple of vests, some babygros, and those muslin towels, then get DH or someone to bring in their going home stuff (another babygro and an outdoor all-in-one with poppers ALL the way down each leg!!!!

Evening all

Welcome newbies! I'm a first timer Sam and 23 so not much older than you!!

Finally did the loo roll test and am 10 sheets!

Starting packing my hospital bag weeks ago as i kept buying stuff when I was out and putting it there so I knew where it was! Sorted it out a bit last night and there were 4 bottles of shower gel and 3 of shampoo! Blush

started to make it a bit more practical but keep putting stuff off so I have stuff to do when my mat leave starts!!

Getting fed up of the gaps between appointments and stuff now dont seem to have anything until June and then loads n loads of antenatal classes, hospital tour and scans etc all seems a bit late to me!?!?
