Just got my first ever ebay purchase today - a baby bjorn sling, about half the price of a new one. Also spent far too much money in Monsoon on myself - bought a long cotton black skirt with elasticated waist and a silk (!) wrap top in quite a large size, v pretty with blue flowers and silvery bits. Neither are strictly mat wear but fit ok with a bit of room to spare, so hopefully will keep me going. Just got really fed up of looking at dull drab mat wear in Debenhams & DP (navy blue tshirt with white polka dots anyone?). Dammit - I want pretty clothes! In nice bright colours and patterns! That don't cost too much because I'm a cheapskate! Grin rant over.

Doh-must update my list to include toiletries for moi!

Meant to say that yesterday DD asked if baby sister was coming soon and I said yes, quite soon now and she said when the postman comes mummy? Bless, if only it was so simple.

maewest-I am an Ebay addict with a rating if 96 now-whooppee!

I have had to buy 2 lots of curtains again and linings as Mothercare curtains just about stretch across the window and I like them to be gathered so have asked my friend to sew them all together and she has agreed-phew as Superstitch in town wanted £15 per join so that would be £60! Wallpaper still out of stock at Mothercare so might have to search for something else. At least I have all the bedding and cot mobile in the Baby Jungle range. May have to change my name from HumphreysCorner to Baby Jungle-hmmmm-not quite sure about that.

I have been waddling for ages and along with that feeling that she is about to drop out it makes walking anywhere v. uncomfortable. Feeling so hot all the time is worse though. Going to have to get that bikini out (only if the neighbours are away though) lol!

MummyZena-hope your party goes well!

Well, although it is far too hot to sleep tonight I must have a try. Think I'll read my trashy mag (as DH calls it) first.

Night night

maewest, i know, i'm soooo bored with my maternity clothes , i really really really want to get some fab new clothes but don;t want to spend a lot on more mat wear for just 10 weeks

a question ladies - anyone else feeling kicks/movements around their sit bones (backside) - The lo is moving/kicking/streching loads now, and often when i'm sitting I get a double kick just under my ribs and a double thump just inside both of my sit bones, like he's having a strech (.... and its not wind or anything like that, its a very different sensation and area Blush) - anyone else, normal or am a freak?

Thanks puddy re the OU idea, I will investigate. Unfort. DH is the main barrier at the moment as he is complaining about the time I'm spending on this course! (One eve a week at college, and occasional hours before he and ds arrive home.)

Had lots of movement last few days, guess I've got another energetic one on the way.

Trying to make my mat clothes last as don't really want to buy any more at this stage.

I feel the bumps, thumps and stretches all over my abdomen, and before my 21 week scan had a dream that at the scan I saw LO doing star-jumps and yoga poses. The weirdest sensation is when she stretches right across my belly.

Kayzed - re: strollers again. Sorry for sticking in my 2p. I am sure if you have been doing the same as me you have been researching it pretty closely, and know pretty much all the different options. My DH laughs at me now because when we are out I can identify all the makes and models of the buggies we see. He teases me about it and wonders if there is a Top Gear for buggies? The joke is to ask me which ones are on the cool wall. LOL.

I hear you about the bootspace issue too. This has been my main (only?) research criteria (although probably should have been howy comfy it is for LO Blush)

Goodluck with the shoes too. It sounds like a difficult one. Leaves me wondering in general how complicated LO is going to make my life. Already I am dreading the inevitablility of having a teenage daughter, because if shes like I was, I am in trouble Grin lol!!

I know what you mean Ali - the English I use on here leaves alot to be desired Blush - I guess my mind is working quicker than my fingers can type!
I love the idea of the lo doing ' yoga', posing crossed legged chanting

but anyone getting any kicks/thumps in the backside or is it just me?

Wallace · 28/04/2006 14:13

I know exactly what you mean deblaca - a sort of thump right down on the bones. Must be normal!

Hi have a big butt, so it is probably too well padded to feel baby kicking down there! lol

thanks ladies
thankfully i'm not a freak ... actually what you've said Kayzed makes sense - I've had 'problems' in the past with my smear tests due to a posterior cervix ....... now i'm thinking, does that make a difference to the birth, i.e the angle of the head and shoulders

hope you all have a lovely looong weekend

Just spent this morning surrounded by bumps and babies! Was helping out a friend who was opening her shop selling nappies and baby products. We were doing a photo shoot with real nappy wearing babies for a calendar later in the year. All of the babies were incredibly well behaved and we got some lovely photos - v cute! Will be offline for a week as I'm off to Cornwall on my holidays - our last one as a two. Take care of yourselves and your bumps :)

Hi everyone

HC - We too have gone for the Baby Jungle range. It seems really popular. got the last mobile in the store last weekend. As for eBay, we too are addicts, feedback of 1043 Shock.

Jersey - I know what you mean about finding time to do studies. I'm meant to spend between 10-15 hours a week on mine plus occasional evening tutorials but not always possible.

Had a great day yesterday. With the weather being so lovely, washed all the nappies through and got them on the line. Don't think there'll be room for any other clothes Grin. Then DH and I went for a walk to a local Elizabethan house that is set in woodlands with a lake and deer. While there had a bit of a picnic. Got home and the cot was delivered, so DH put it all together (I supervised and held bits Grin). He even put the mobile on it. So as it's another lovely day, have started to wash through all the baby items in preparation!!!!! This nest building business has kicked in early (smile)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and the sun is shining where you are. Take care of yourselves and your bumps.

Morning ladies

31 weeks today (so only 9 weeks to go). Scary thought. Had a nightmare last night about having the baby-I have heard this is quite normal but still quite relieved to wake up and be still PG.

puddytat-have E-Mailed Mothercare again this morning as Baby Jungle wallpaper and border still out of stock-with only 9 weeks to go it could take that long for DH to become 'motivated' as he says.

Still 9 3/4 sheets of loo roll-have been for weeks now.

koshka-Envy at you starting your maternity leave but Sad with it being through sickness. Take it easy hun.

Only 4 weeks to go until I leave-hurrah!

Must go as in the middle of cleaning so hope you all have a lovely weekend. We are going to Oulton Park (Cheshire ish) on Monday for the bike racing-taking DD so hope she behaves in the rain-lol!

Byee for now.

Hi all Smile

I too have been washing all the baby things (the neighbours asked if we'd had the baby!) the clothes look so cute on the line!
I'm supposed to be doing the housework but can't quite get myself started today. Had a great night out last night with everyone from work and had a real giggle although did have to leave at 10.30! Enjoyed a lovely Chinese meal and had a small glass of wine-yum!
Getting painful hips during the night where I can no longer sleep on my back and am beginning to get quite tired as am waking up throughout the night, going to have to start having more daytime naps!Grin
Off for hospital tour this afternoon will let you know how it goes.
Have a lovely weekend and rest up x

hi usandbump hope the tour went well .... i know what you mean about sore hips, mine are really achy in the morning and as its my natural inclination to lie on my back I keep waking myself up (as lying on my back has started to be so uncomfortable). I hope it settles down because I'm not looking forward to 10 weeks of this .... went out and bought myself a pregnancy comfort pillow from Mothercare today so hopefully that'll do the trick!

We have also started buying some baby clothes, which are so cute they make me want to cry (in a good way!) ... so far we have
7 vest suits/5 sleepsuits(babygros)/1 day outfit/trouser, t-shirt, cardi combo/1 pram suit/and a small supply of reusable nappies and covers ... all newborn and tiny, which means we'll probably have a bruiser and he'll never fit into any of them, but just watching my DH folding them bought such a huge smile to my face it's worth it
xx

Hi everyone

Hope that you're all having a lovely morning and the sun is shining where you are. The only problem with all this sunshine, it makes me get up early and do lots around the house. I wouldn't mind but I'm up early in the week as work starts at 7am. Never mind, soon be 26 May when I finish. Looking forward to finishing but will miss most of the kids.

Totally agree with everyone about the sore hips. Mine wake me up, but seem to hurt more when I roll on to my other side or if DH puts his arm across/on top when trying to feel my belly.

HC - Just remembered when we went to our Mothercare store in Nottingham, they had Baby jungle wallpaper and border in. Is it just your store that is out of stock then? What a pain!!! Another idea, which might help, have you looked on eBay? I know when we looked the other day, there were loads of brand new Baby Jungle things (got the thermometer from there, as our store didn't have any in) and there were some borders and wallpaper too I think, listed.
