eggnog he's so cute!

I've just uploaded a picture of aurelia

pmgkt · 08/12/2012 13:01

Doctors have just been around, he is saying that I won't be sectioned until 41 weeks, that 4 fucking weeks away, and I'm not allowed home other than for a few hours on Christmas day wtf is that all about, will my waters not break on Christmas day?

emilyeggs · 08/12/2012 13:27

pmgkt that's awful! Feel so sorry for you. So you just have to wait there till labour starts naturally? That could be a while.....we both due 28 if I remember correct. Sad

RudolphTheRedNosedGiraffe · 08/12/2012 13:28

Congratulations mamapo, alison, strawberry - good job delivering 10lb baby in two pushes! - and afro.

Is there some queue or waiting list I forgot to put my name down on? Xmas Grin

Still waiting here, one day overdue (though I know that's not very much in the big scheme of things), can't believe how many people have texted/phoned DH to find out whether the baby's arrived yet... like we wouldn't tell you if it had? Just annoying. Have to confess the lateness genes come from me though, DH is always punctual.

Friend, sorry to disappoint but I felt like the baby had dropped quite a bit last week and can still feel it pressing down on my cervix and bouncing when I walk. I've been having occasional and sometimes more frequent mild cramps since then, but nothing else.

Pmgkt that sounds rubbish, hope something happens soon!

Cookiesandcoffee · 08/12/2012 13:32

Ooo stacey sounds promising
COD I had some mega contractions every 10 mins in the night and nothing, I feel your pain. Did you have this with previous babbas? (Wise mother of many!) I didn't get anything like this first time round.
pmgkt you poor thing, have they said why you have to wait so long? 4 weeks is such a long time.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 08/12/2012 13:44

pgmkt what are they keeping you in for? Is it the extra fluid thing? 4weeks is ridiculous!

pmgkt · 08/12/2012 14:08

It's extra fluid and an unstable lie. The frustrating thing is yesterday everyone I spoke to said they will keep you in and section you nearer your due date, which I had got my head around. Due to previous section they won't turn it, but it will move anyway, and they won't induce either. The likelihood of it being in the right position if I went into labour naturally is low as it prefers a transverse lie anyway, so that would be a section, but an emergency, there is a significant risk that if my waters break part of baby or cord will come out first which will be emcs so why not just do it before it becomes an emergency. Aghhhhh

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 08/12/2012 14:11

That's ridiculous- pmgkt surely the chances of you going into labour before 41 weeks and so needing an emcs are quite high so it would be sensible to section before due date. Is there another better, less sadistic dr you can talk to?

ellliebelle · 08/12/2012 14:29

pmgkt that sounds horrible poor you and like you say why can you leave on christmas day but not before :( o cant believe they wont offer section till 41 weeks. Sounds rediculous.

strawb congratulations and well done. Nice to know labour wasnt too bad with a big baby since i think ill have one :)

Too many cute baby pictures being uploaded making me very Envy since i dont have one ive put a pic of my dd's up in there pretty dresses ready to go for xmas lunch last weekend ':)

I havent even got dressed yet today (so lazy :))

We have trimmed up and listened to christmas songs think im going to have a bath then we are going to sing carols round the village tree tonight and thinking of doing xmas market tomorrow :)

EggNogMichelle · 08/12/2012 14:33

Bella she is beautiful, lovely big eyes, Felix hardly ever opens his eyes.

pmgkt that's really shit, but do they think you will make it to your due date?

RudolphTheRedNosedGiraffe · 08/12/2012 14:33

That's a good point, it might be worth asking for a second opinion or at least a chance to discuss your concerns and find out the reasons for what he said. Or even talk to a PALS representative?

MyDaydream · 08/12/2012 14:54

Congratulations on little pheobe strawberry, and to afro on your little girl.
terry have a lovely time in London, hope DD has fun.
pmgkt really feel for you being in hospital so long. Hope they change their minds.
I feel so pathetic with a cold making me feel a bit woozy and freezing cold. I think I've pulled a muscle in my back from all the sobbing I did last night about how terrible I feel. I feel worse because I know it's just a cold and the pregnancy is just making it all feel worse. I'm really disappointed by it, were going out for a family dinner tonight with an aunt who I only see once a year and I just feel like dying.

brooke89 · 08/12/2012 14:56

pgmkt that is really shit, I too would ask for a second opinion?

Well since my snail trail last night I've just had a small gush of fluid and the runs - feeling cramps and back ache. Rang the labor ward and they've said to put a pad on and call back in an hour. bouncing on this ball like mad come on baby!!!

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 08/12/2012 15:02

Sounds promising brooks

brooke89 · 08/12/2012 15:37

Really hope so - shall I have a bath or will that slow things down?

pmgkt · 08/12/2012 15:45

I have spoken to a friend who works at another hospital as a midwife and she rang her work. Given my term, levels and position they would section me or at least do a controlled induction, but I can't be because of previous scar. They would not wait til 41 weeks. I will be asking for a second opinion on Monday

itsMYNutella · 08/12/2012 16:04

pmgkt I can't believe that making you stay in hospital (nobody likes hospital... do they?) for four weeks is going to do you or baby any favours... I too would be asking for a second opinion. I really hope you can relax and rest though! Really Confused and Angry on your behalf!

brooke good luck! I've no idea what would help, hope you aren't too uncomfortable.

Bellaboo123 · 08/12/2012 16:09

pmgkt defo go for 2nd opinion that sounds ludicrous!

Sounds like its time brooke good luck!!! Smile

brooke89 · 08/12/2012 16:50

Ahh I dunno pains have stopped and I've just got really bad back ache in my lower back and no more fluid?! This baby is teasing me!

SpottyTeacakes · 08/12/2012 17:01

brooke in between contractions I had constant lower backache I'm sure your body is doing something. You should probably eat/rest as they may well come back with a vengeance!

brooke89 · 08/12/2012 17:31

Lost more fluid going to go in - will keep all updated!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 08/12/2012 17:40

Good luck brooke

Not a lot going on here I don't think. Except for hiccups, for the 3rd time today! Lol

Hormonalhell · 08/12/2012 17:56

Howdo i look at pics please, wanna see some babies!!!

Cookiesandcoffee · 08/12/2012 17:58

Good luck brooke Smile
I wish It was my turn. More miserable than ever.
Deffo second opinion pmgkt ! Doesn't make sense to me (ok not a medical professional but still!)

MyDaydream · 08/12/2012 18:03

Good luck brooke.
DP noticed today my belly button is finally going outy. I thought getting to 38 weeks meant it was going to stay an inny.
