Out of interest cutandstick when are you planning to tell work? I feel like I need to tell the HT after I've been so completely useless the last couple weeks and was off thurs and fri. Will only be 8 weeks on Tuesday, really don't know whether to say or not, but can't pull off another 2.5 weeks as a 'lingering virus'. So nervous about what he'll say :-/

Cutandstick · 02/12/2012 16:33

I had to tell HT really early due to a member of staff coming to work in my classroom with shingles. DP was livid. HT was fine - I think! Good luck! Xmas Wink

Calmisthemantra · 02/12/2012 19:01

Hello All - welcome to all the newbiesWink

Feeling sick a lot of the time, lots of gagging but no actual vomming.

I've told work already (secondary teacher) even though I still have 3 weeks of maternity leave left as my SPD has come back with a vengeance. It never really got better after giving birth! So my doctor has already signed me off for 3 months and is likely to for the whole pregnancy Sad unless there is a sudden & miraculous cureHmm I miss the pupils but not the stress or paperwork but feel sad that I may potentially be out of work again for the next year and a half! Work were less than impressed as you can imagine I felt so nervous about telling them

Hope everyone else is getting on ok. I have to ring up to book my scan on tues and really really hoping for before Christmas. Not counting on it though so will book an early scan if needed before as we really want to tell family over Christmas lunch

Guavasforbreakfast · 02/12/2012 19:02

Thanks cutandstick.

I'm in a bit of a panic as I keep getting dull shooting pains low down on the right hand side, sort of where I imagine my ovary to be. I'd had a sharp pain there a few days ago when turning over in bed.
It's nothing like the all over cramps I got when I mc, and if it was ectopic I imagine they'd be much worse and start earlier than 7+5. Has anyone ever had this? Mw told me to call EPU if I had blood or cramping, but don't want to go all the way in for something that's a normal symptom?
Ahk sorry first-timer panic here, only got to 5+3 last time.

Cutandstick · 02/12/2012 19:19

Hi guava I had those too, I knew I wasn't ectopic because of early scan, but when I googled it it is where the round ligament is - I first had it turning in bed, and some other times but it wears off after a good. iChat's sleep.
Got dark brown blood in CM, sorry for detail. Worried after being do poorly this week Confused anyone else?

Cutandstick · 02/12/2012 19:19

Not iChat's sleep - a good nights sleep!!

Bessie123 · 02/12/2012 19:56

I have had pain and more fresh blood, but not loads. I have been bleeding on and off for over 3 weeks now, it doesn't feel right. I am feeling very nauseous though, so I guess that's hopeful.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, am going to see if I can get another scan at the epu tomorrow

Cutandstick · 02/12/2012 20:15

Everything crossed bessie

cogitosum · 02/12/2012 20:19

Finally decided to join thus thread after getting bfp nearly 4 weeks ago. Had mmc in June do feeling a bit nervous but had early scan on Friday and saw heartbeat and baby was 7.4mm so feeling a bit more hopeful! 7 weeks today (according to scan, according to dates it's 7 weeks yesterday!)

Guavasforbreakfast · 02/12/2012 20:59

Fingers crossed Bessie, hope everything turns out ok.

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 02/12/2012 21:06

Fingers crossed Bessie. x

Congrats cogito I'm chuffed I finally know someone on this thread. :o

chocolateteabag · 02/12/2012 21:18

Good luck for tomorrow Bessie

cogito - seeing the heart beat is great! Welcome aboard

dinky & oranges - thanks for the advice - will tell my Zumba teacher next week, will have had second scan by then so will know either way for sure if the bean has stuck. Missing my class this week anyway as meeting old work girls for supper instead. That is if I can get out of the village - snow is forecast for overnight and the 4x4 is in the garage for 3 days. Leaves me with DH 's GTI which is great when the roads are clear but skids and slides like a nervous horse at the mention of a bit of ice Sad

Thundercatz · 02/12/2012 21:21

Fingers crossed for you here too bessie take care of yourself!

Thanks dinky for the tips. This is hatha yoga (which I've done before) and is relatively gentle. The teacher has taught pregnant ladies and says she will adapt poses for me... Will try and use my common sense when there though as it can be a serious workout sometimes! Smile

Had my 8 week scan today - all was well - very moving to hear and see heartbeat and little baby with arms and legs forming! Grin somehow though... It still all feels surreal.. Does it ever feel real until the baby actually arrives?!

orangebubbles · 02/12/2012 22:28

bessie did you see the mw? Are they going to scan you? Fingers crossed x

Yay thunder fabulous news.

Welcome and congrats newbies Smile

emblosion · 02/12/2012 23:11

Fab news Thunder ! Even when DS was born and handed to me it didn't quite feel real, partially because he was so long I couldn't believe he had fitted inside me Grin

Oh Bessie fingers crossed, hope you get your scan tomorrow.

cutandstick hope you are ok

guavas I've had quite sharp low down pains, particularly if I twist or turn over in bed - can remember getting it last time too, think its just everything stretching in there. Any pain is a worry though isn't it?

orange no, that is a perfectly normal reaction to Christopher Maloney, ha ha!

Welcome & congrats cogito

Careful driving chocolate! Am slightly jealous of snow, as I can hear the rain coming down torrentially here!

dinkystinky · 03/12/2012 06:25

Good luck for the Epu today Bessie - sending you sticky vibes for your little one. welcome Cogito. Be careful in that snow Chocolate and glad you had a good scan Thundercatz - bet it all feels very real suddenly.

dinkystinky · 03/12/2012 06:27

Ps cutandstick - if you're worried, call your Gp for advice. I get some niggles around that area and my back and it is ligament related.

orangebubbles · 03/12/2012 07:43

bessie missed that! Good luck at epau today

paolocee · 03/12/2012 08:04

Good luck bessie.

On the exercise front, DP is a Zumba instructor and was taking up to 22 sessions a week. Now she's so exhausted she's had to cancel them all for the foreseeable future. I guess that's what twins does to you.

RacquelWelsh · 03/12/2012 08:35

Good luck Bessie. Am in similar position. Spent yesterday morning in A&E as been bleeding, am 9 weeks tomorrow. Had scan, saw sack, yolk and embryo but no heartbeat, told to come back Friday as scan inconclusive. Am v grateful for my gorgeous 2.5 year old son and feeling quite philosophical but the limbo is hard. Midwife coming for booking in appointment today. Welcome to everyone new!

chocolateteabag · 03/12/2012 08:36

Twas just slush this morning - managed a few slidey corners but nothing too hairy thank goodness.

Who is voting for Christopher Maloney??? He's going to blimmin win it - bet it's all the kids deciding to revolt and voting for him. Can't be that many people in Liverpool calling for him?

Paolo - what would your DP advise to her zumba people - how long can they "zumba" until she'd ask them to stop?

missmaybe · 03/12/2012 08:45

Morning ladies. Ooh, feeling so queasy this morning. Anyone else having really strange/bad dreams at the moment, too?!

On the exercise front, I'm planning to start doing a pregnancy yoga (fingers crossed, all being well) from when I'm 12 weeks in early January. Checked with the teacher and apparently as it's so gentle it should be fine and shouldn't matter that I haven't done yoga in a while.

Best of luck to bessie and Racquel for your scans.

OhGood · 03/12/2012 09:03

Racquel that's a really tough one. Sorry you have to wait - heart really goes out to you. Plenty of [tea] and sympathy here along with fx fx fx fx.

wifey6 · 03/12/2012 09:07

Good morning all. Good luck to those having scans today. Hope all goes well.
Can I ask if any if you have had a flu jab yet? At booking in the MW told me to have it before 12 weeks. Just wondering if any if you have been told the same & if so & have had it, how did you feel afterwards? Smile

orangebubbles · 03/12/2012 09:23

racquel so sorry you are in limbo (((gentle hugs)))

chocolate If I even meet someone that utters the words 'I voted for Christopher Maloney' they are also going to get a flick in the eye! Grin

wifey nhs advice is ASAP after finding out you are diffed. However because local PCTs are tight fuckers careful about ensuring no wastage, they generally like you to reach 8weeks before administering (theory that a high percentage of mc's happen before 8weeks). Mine is booked for next wed, ill be 8+4. I heard from one friend she felt a bit off colour for a day and another that her arm that was injected was quite painful for a day.

The fact you are pregnant means you are imuno compromised and in a high risk category. please ALL, get your flu jab ASAP, it could mean the difference between your pregnancy being complication free and not
