MarieKL · 29/12/2012 23:20

Hi, May I join? I've been reading the thread for a while but didn't want to post until our scan, which went really well on Thursday. Expecting DC 2 on 1st July so will add myself to the list when I'm on the computer. Our DS will be 3 in Feburary and I'm now 13 + 5, though it still doesn't seem quite real as until last week I had no symptoms but now instead of easing off at 12 weeks I seem to have just started MS! Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Ohgood so glad your scan has been positive this time, and so pleased for everyone else with positive scans too. For those still waiting for scans I hope they come round quickly, I know it can seem like a lifetime until the appointment and then the day come!

butterflyexperience · 30/12/2012 01:37

Hi all

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to New Years!

I'm almost 11 weeks and ms seems to be getting worse as dies the tiredness. Could sleep all day!
Dd 2 woke in the night hence why I'm mning now

Wish I could skip all this and just meet the baby! Wonder what it will look like and be like

Supershiv1 · 30/12/2012 08:35

Hi all.
Thanks for the kind words. I am a bit embarrassed as I do think the cramping may have been wind as I have struggled to release it the last few days......
Went to bed friday night, had a tiny bit of discharge yesterday morning but all seems fine now. Will call mw tomorrow just to fill her in.
I suppose one of my concerns is that my ms seems to be abating so I started to feel less pregnant although really I should be chuffed!
I will need to start exercising now as ms no longer an excuse and apparently it will help with the wind relief! Anyone know any good websites for pelvic floor???
Thanks again. It's all about the countdown to 1st scan on the 8th now.
Xx

OhGood · 30/12/2012 09:03

Thanks all Grin and - in new spirit of positivity - hurray for everyone who has declining MS symptoms, completely right and normal for this stage. Marie you are the honorable exception that proves the rule. Apparently MS can strike at any stage but I hope you get over yours soon. So grim, isn't it?

dinkystinky · 30/12/2012 09:19

Supershiv check out pregnancy yoga and pilates nearby. If none nearby see if you can borrow DVDs from the library to try out. Good for pelvic floor, strengthening and breathing.

Welcome Marie - hope the MS abates soon. Butterfly - lack of sleep might be making you feel worse. Can you nap today during the day? If you are feeling like you could sleep the say away it might help.

MrsMillions · 30/12/2012 10:16

Wonderful news ohgood and welcome MarieKL.

I reached 12 weeks yesterday and can't wait for scan on Jan 2nd (even though I'll also be back at work by then, no more sleeping in till 9am). Although we've told immediate family and a few close friends, looking forward to making it more official assuming the scan is ok - baby was wiggling away at 10+4 so no real reason to worry, but we're going back to get the NT measurements done.

I'm sleeping better now back in our own bed but still tired, had to have a sit-down at the supermarket yesterday. My parents are arriving later today to celebrate new year with us. We have a very nice bottle of champagne at the ready and after 8 weeks of total sobriety I'm looking forward to a cheeky half glass to celebrate the start of what should be an amazing 2013.

12+1

Supershiv1 · 30/12/2012 10:59

Waaah. Will pilates help with baby brain?
I've just squirted moisturiser on my toothbrush!
And on friday I left my laptop power cable at the unit I was visiting.

CottonSock · 30/12/2012 12:19

lol Supershiv I once gargled with blue bubble bath, not even pregnant at the time though..

Oh Good what amazing news. Reminds me a bit of a friends story. She had her 20 week scan in her local hospital, sonographer concerned about major problems with babe. Sent her on a 4 hour journey in a mad panic to scan in big hospital. All went fine and the Consulatant actually said as scans are getting better, sometimes things get mistaken with the extra detail. Maybe this is the case for you..you never know. Wonderful news though and good luck for next scan.

I tried on some maternity stuff in sale, but didn't buy anything as don't actually need it yet and should really try and make do for longer. Think I will try and get cot etc second hand. Did get lovely new curtains yesterday though for the spare room I am decorating for babe (not doing it baby style, just neutral).

flyingsprocket · 30/12/2012 13:14

Delighted for you ohgood

I can't go anywhere near the sales. Don't wanna buy clothes that won't fit me next month & can't really entertain the idea of buying baby stuff yet. Am so clueless, have no idea what we will need. I'm happy bumbling along in blissful ignorance!

dinkystinky · 30/12/2012 14:25

Isabella Oliver sale now on. Great for work wear and really good resale value.

Supershiv when pregnant with DS1 I spent hours looking for the remote control only to find I'd put it in the fridge!

esme80 · 30/12/2012 14:29

Got a few maternity bits in sales, which I didnt actually need...

When pregnant with DS I took our home phone with me out once, and it took me a good minute to figure out why it wasnt working when I went to make a phone call...

emblosion · 30/12/2012 14:40

Grin supershiv last time I was pregnant I poured boiling water onto my cereal instead of my mug & have left remote controls in various random places.

I was always losing the car in car parks too & once convinced myself I'd posted my keys into the postbox, but it turned out I'd actually just left them in the ignition in the (unlocked) car in the supermarket carpark. - I shouldn't be allowed out!

dinkystinky · 30/12/2012 15:35

My friend cunningly gave her 2 year old the car keys to play with while she was packing the shopping in the boot ...... He locked himself in with her bag phone etc and they had to get the fire brigade out to break in!

Supershiv1 · 30/12/2012 20:43

Ok. Just had/having a bright red bleed with slight cramps.
Phoned delivery unit but they only deal after 20 wks.
Called gp out of hours and waiting for a nurse to call me back. Am ok. Not panicking. Just hoping its one of those things.
Am 11+4 today and told everyone on Christmas rather than wait an extra wk as it seemed timely as I thought if anything was going to happen it would've 10 wks or before. ........
Pooh pants

dinkystinky · 30/12/2012 20:59

Supershiv _ call your out of hours GP - they will advise who to call/see. Am keeping everything crossed all is ok.

Supershiv1 · 30/12/2012 21:14

Hi dinky.
That's what I've done but have to wait for a nurse to call me back. They arent sure how long as they are very busy (?)!
Have had to use sanitary protection now. But am sat still with legs crossed (sorry TMI)

dinkystinky · 30/12/2012 21:27

OK - if cramps or bleeding are getting worse head to A and E Supershiv. Am so sorry you are having such a scary time and hope all is OK. ((Hugs))

esme80 · 30/12/2012 21:56

Agree with dinky, go to a and e. Thinking of you!

Supershiv1 · 30/12/2012 21:58

Ok.
Doctor just called me back.
I have to 'pad up', take paracetamol and call gp in the morning. And to take it easy.
She said if bleeding or pain gets any worse to go to A&E. She says it's a threatened miscarriage.
Fingers crossed that little ribena hangs on (ribena is the only thing I have been able to stomach apart from water).
Still have my sense of humour and DH and benjy dog being nice to me.

wifey6 · 30/12/2012 21:59

Supershiv...thinking of you & agree with what others have said about going to A&E if cramping or bleeding persists or gets worse.

Cutandstick · 30/12/2012 22:40

Good luck shiv Got everything crossed for you xxx
