Nearly puked on the spot felt hideous for about half an hour, even the thought is making me queazy! Needless to say I plan in now not even having a sniff of bubbles never mind a drink!!! She has a way thar Mother Nature!!

mightbemad and lovemybaby my DS is 15 months Too Smile
Felt very nauseous at lunch time so popped into a service station and ate from the hot deli counter and myself and DH have been vomiting since 4pm SadAngry as if it's not hard enough being pregnant without food poisoning thrown in on topSad DS wakes at 5am so I hope to get some sleep before he wakes .

Hope everyone has a great XmasGrin

MightBeMad · 24/12/2012 07:28

wifey6 · 24/12/2012 07:57

OhGood...thinking of you today.Thanks

Good luck to everyone having scans today. Smile

AmaDablam · 24/12/2012 08:54

orange yep, mother nature does have that way with most of us! I thought I would find it quite hard to give up alcohol, especially at this time of year, but I really haven't fancied it - in fact the smell of it on DH's breath can be enough to make me heave!

Well, I had a bit of a miserable evening yesterday. As all the books suggest, in an attempt to ward off the night time sickness, I forced down a bedtime snack, only to feel it coming back up moments later. Unfortunately I didn't quite make the toilet and threw up all over myself and the bathroom floor, promptly stood in it, went flying and ended up on my backside in the middle of it all! (Feel free to LOL - it was a proper slapstick step-on-a-banana-skin moment and would have been quite funny if I hadn't been so upset at the time)

Poor DH got back from the pub to find a nicely pebble-dashed bathroom and a freshly showered but tearful wife, frantically googling "falls in early pregnancy". Fortunately it seems that a minor fall, especially if you don't land belly first is unlikely to do any damage, but of course it has not stopped me worrying...

On a brighter note, as I may not be able to check in for a couple of days now, I'd like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy Christmas Xmas Smile, may you all get thoroughly spoilt by loved ones and those who are suffering, find enough of a lull in the nausea and exhaustion to enjoy the day, at least a little bit!

10+1

SundaySunshine · 24/12/2012 09:38

Welcome newbies,

Congrats wifey wonderful news - what a lovely early Christmas prezzie for you and your DP Smile.

Thanks cotton, thinkingof and mightbe that is VERY reassuring thanks Smile. I automatically went into panic mode without thinking rationally, so big thanks for bringing my head back down to sensible Grin.

Good luck vibes for all the scans today, and for those of you the are breaking the news to nearest and dearest over Christmas turkey, enjoy the moment! Makes me well up just thinking of it.

If I don't log back in I wish you all a wonderfully happy Christmas filled with fun, joy and love x

dinkystinky · 24/12/2012 09:43

OhGood - thinking of you today and keeping everything crossed for good news for you today.

Amadablam and Magoosmum - hope you both feel better soon. Ama - I stacked it on ice when pregnant with DS1 (bruised all down my back)and heavily pregnant with DS2 (fell on my front too)- they were both fine so your baby will be fine. Its pretty well protected in there.

Wifey -glad you had a good scan and hope others coming up for scans today (including SundaySunshine) and just after xmas have good ones. SunshineSunday -I echo the others - your odds are actually really good!

Welcome Ilovemyboy - there are plenty of us on here on DC3 and beyond - and BadmissM - also plenty of 40+ mums on the thread so you're in good company. Bet your DD will mellow when the baby arrives.

Hope everyone has a lovely xmas. DH is determined to go to a softplay hell this morning - cant think of anything worse!

photographerlady · 24/12/2012 09:52

I had these very naive hopes that if I was ever pregnant over Xmas I could really pig out. Today went for the morning shop before work and only bought potatoes and flowers. I am so not in a position to eat tomorrow. Nausea the wonder diet.

Calmisthemantra · 24/12/2012 10:44

Embolism you win Grin

My scan is the same date as yours. Hoping all the Christmas chaos will make it fly by. We're telling family tomorrow with a card that is to my dd from 'bump' and will get someone ensue to open it. Very excited and a bit nervous of judgy pants mil

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas

specialknickers · 24/12/2012 11:04

ohgood just dropping in to say good luck today. We're all thinking of you Thanks and keeping everything crossed.

Good luck to any other scanners too of course and welcome to the newly July 2013ers.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas. My nausea seems to be abating a bit, which is perfect timing... so far in this pregnancy I've lost 10lbs (much needed) so here's the perfect opportunity to munch my way back to pre-pregnancy voluptuousness via the power of Quality Street... Don't think I'm quite up for champagne (unfortunately) but been eyeing up the smoked salmon and Dr Google says it's okay so happy days. Xmas Smile

esme80 · 24/12/2012 11:35

Just got back from scan and everything looks good! Feeling relieved now, feel like I can actually start looking forward to this baby. Still same due date july 3rd.

Ama I had a fall a while back at 6 weeks and was worried, but especially this early on babies are v well protected in there.

wifey6 · 24/12/2012 12:01

esme...that's wonderful news. Smile

MightBeMad · 24/12/2012 12:26

Great news esme!

Persuasion · 24/12/2012 12:51

I've been off the board for about a week, have been visiting family etc so have been keeping up with you all but haven't had time to post. Then I got norovirus. Am now back to morning sickness (all day) which is a relief, norovirus is a truly evil bug!

I'm so sorry for those who have had bad news, you are in my thoughts. I'm also thinking of you today ohgood and hope it's not as bad as you fear.

I've had my scan this morning, they moved me back from 13 weeks to 12+5 which I was expecting based on my cycle. Baby is healthy, and wiggly with a good heartbeat. It's now feeling real for the first time. Fingers crossed for all others with scans today.

persuasion...wonderful news on scan Smile
Sorry to hear your poorly though

Can someone please change my due date (again) 5th July x I'm on iPhone so won't do it.

Thinkingof4 · 24/12/2012 14:08

Glad to hear about the good scans and fx for good with repeat scan later today
We've had a bit of a hellish week, FIL had heart attack out of the blue and our neighbours house was flooded this weekend. All in all a bit stressful but im just going to try to enjoy the day tomorrow and be extra thankful for all that I have.
Probably won't be here tomorrow so Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you can enjoy your day. For those who are still puking console yourselves with the thought that we will all consume far more calories than necessary and gain some extra pounds. And maybe you could do another Christmas lunch in a few weeks when you are feeling better

esme80 · 24/12/2012 15:25

Congrats persuasion! We have the same scan date and same due date I see!

Thinking so sorry your having a tough time, is your FIL improving?

Merry christmas everyone, we are celebrating tonight with my parents scandi style and then DHs family are joining us here tomorrow. And Im not doing any of the cooking, yay!

Persuasion · 24/12/2012 16:24

wifey I'm feeling much better now. The norovirus lasted less than 48 hours, and the MS is only nausea. I keep hoping it'll start to fade but it seems to be hanging on in there!

thinking it sounds like you've had a bad run. Hopefully things will get better from here for you and your family.

Thanks for the congratulations all, it is a great present for christmas, and we've been ringing family today to tell them, which is lovely!

esme we do indeed seem twinned. I can't remember if you already have DC or not?

My inlaws have been great, even offering to take the DC's out on boxing day morning so I can have a long uninterrupted bath. I have to tell my mum and dad on 27th and I'm really nervous. They think that after 1 DC with special needs we should have stopped and that unplanned babies only happen if you're careless (tell that to my friend who managed to conceive x2 using the pill and condom but now been ttc with no success for 2 years)

BadMissM · 24/12/2012 22:24

Oh, I wish....haven't even told my parents yet, they haven't been speaking to me for three years and will see it as bad news because they disapprove of DH. MIL sweet, but have the world (DH's family) descending for Christmas (and staying) and we moved 3 weeks ago.... on top of which DH has been absolute arse pain all day, throwing things around and sulking. I don't need this stress...I lost twins 2 years ago because of stress levels at the time...Grrrrrrr!

emblosion · 25/12/2012 07:58

Just popping in to wish you all a merry Christmas.

Glad to hear all the good scan news & hope everyone has a good day today. badmissM hope you can maintain a Zen-like calm x
