I found some apple cider at the local farmers market (no booze in it) and been having it warm. Sometimes with a little whipped cream it's heavenly and great mulled wine replacement for my nonalcoholic Xmas :) I understandable come to terms with that I won't be drinking for a year or so maybe longer pending bfing raises her hot cocoa and hot apple ciders

trickybarmby · 22/12/2012 21:15

I don't actually have a due date yet but im guessing the end of July, having a pretty rubbish time of it all at the moment being ill all the time, ive only just joined mumsnet despite already being a mum of 2, and started a post somewhere else haha but just looking for reassurance x

Guavasforbreakfast · 22/12/2012 23:49

Hi tricky! Sorry you're feeling rubbish, I empathise - my nausea is now worst at night so spend hours trying to fall asleep and not to be sick at the same time. Hence the late reply!
Don't know how you do it with two others to take care of - have told DP he can do the next one Grin as I'm not keen on going through this again...

notprincesskate · 23/12/2012 06:24

bessie so sorry to hear your bad news and ohgood hope you get some answers tomorrow.

Luckily for me my scan went well on Thursday, they moved my due date to the 07/07, based on my dates although she said size wise on the scan I am dated as Edd on the 05/07 but they don't move your date based on that unless your more than 6 days ahead. Don't suppose it matters anyway as babies come when their ready.

Now to start thinking how this baby might get out had an emcs at time at 31 weeks, so have option of vbac or elcs this time, I don't have strong feelings for either at the mo as I can only consider the cons and not the pros Xmas Confused, anyone else in this boat, or had to make the decision before?

wifey6 · 23/12/2012 08:28

Morning all...got my NT scan today..getting a little nervous.

MightBeMad · 23/12/2012 08:52

Princess glad you had a good scan. The delivery decision is difficult isn't it? Are you never a consultant you can discuss it with?

Wifey good luck for your scan!!!

Welcome tricky.

orangebubbles · 23/12/2012 09:11

Good luck wifey

emblosion · 23/12/2012 09:43

Good luck wifey!

SundaySunshine · 23/12/2012 09:50

Good luck with your scan today wifey, and those of you with scans tomorrow, there are quite a few of you if memory serves, especially ohgod; fingers crossed for you.

Got my combined tests results back yesterday 1:260. Not great I feel, but classed as negative so no diagnostics offered. My head is in a bit of a spin about it, can't help worrying, which I know is pointless because I can't spend the next 6 months obsessing about it Sad

Interestingly the dates from scan suggests I'm 13+6 which I believe makes my due date 24/06/13 (my 40th birthday!) but the mw insisted on staying with the edd based on dates, a bit crazy as I'd just had a mc and my cycle was all over the place.

Anyways, still being sick everyday and have NO energy, but the 24/7 nausea has trailed off so actually feeling much better. Thankfully going to spend Christmas with my mum, so I get to put my feet up and be spoiled for a couple of days Grin can't wait!

Hope everyone else is ok and getting in the Christmas spirit Xmas Smile

McKTastic · 23/12/2012 10:58

Thinking of everyone with scans today/tomorrow & hoping for more positive news from ohgood

We had our private scan yest. All looked as it should Smile although I still feel a bit disconnected from it - am hoping it's because I'm feeling so crap with sickness & it'll improve. Was a wee bit disappointed it wasn't twins for us again as I'd love 3 kids but at the moment really don't think I could face this again!

notprincesskate I had an EMCS with DD so am booked to see a consultant. MWs at booking apt were pushing for a ELCS so I pushed for the shock look on their faces & said I hadn't ruled out a HB (we had one booked for DD). Like you I can think of cons. I found it really hard recovering from EMCS & don't really want that with DD in the mix. I was also in hospital for four nights & can't imagine being away from her Sad BUT it's the known quantity for us...... Am going to try & read up on pros/cons & they make a plan (although if it's anything like last time it'll go out the window!!)

Almost in need of an ark here! Hope everyone well.

If you're still reading bessie I hope you're looking after yourself as best you can. When we lost our twins at 12 weeks it was a dark time. Really hope there are more positive times in your future. Take Care.

McKTastic · 23/12/2012 10:59

Then not they!

CottonSock · 23/12/2012 11:41

Good luck for scans tomorrow.

Interesting fact of the day. My boobs are changing colour! Anyone else observed?

Sunday I am 13+6 based on my scan and they gave me a due date of 18th June... I'm guessing I will be much later so almost wish it had stayed 1st July as I know how impatient I am. Hope you can relax about test results 1:260 sounds pretty low odds. Those test are a head stress if you ask me..

Thinkingof4 · 23/12/2012 12:41

Sunday your risk is about 0.4% or 4 in 1000, does that make it sound better? I wouldn't worry, there are so many things in the world to worry about, 0.4% sounds pretty good to me

MightBeMad · 23/12/2012 13:11

Sunday 1:260 is brilliant!! You say the baby is due on your 40th? From a bit of googling I've found out that your base line age-related risk of downs at 40 is 1:106. That means that your blood results are so good they have significantly more than halved your risk. I'd say that's a very good result indeed! If I were you I'd be celebrating that result Grin

lovemybabyboy · 23/12/2012 16:24

Hello all, can I join you? (Very late, sorry!) Will have a lot of catching up to do! I am 11+1wks with DC3, due 13th of July 2013! I have two DS who are 4yrs and 14 months. I have not told work or family about this pregnancy, will do after my scan but very embarrassed about the small age gap between DS2 and DC3, especially as I just returened from Mat leave middle of October and will have to go off again in June!! I look forward to catching up on the thread and getting to know you all! Xmas Smile

Calmisthemantra · 23/12/2012 16:38

Hi lovemy welcome and congratulations. My age gap us a lot smaller dd is just 10month!!! I was due to go back to work on the 17th dec but have been signed off due to SPD coming back with a vengeance I am nervous about telling the MIL though - over Christmas lunchHmm

Really hazy memory but there's another lady on here (sorry I can remember the name- I blame baby brain!) whose dc is 5 monthsSmile We're going to have so much fun.

wifey6 · 23/12/2012 16:51

All went beautifully! Baby is perfect & I am actually due 5th July.
After my loss in April at our 12 week scan..today has been emotional yet wonderful.
Have a very wriggly, bouncy baby.

Welcome newbies Smile

GingerJulep · 23/12/2012 16:56

emblosion, orangebubbles, dinkystinky and Thinkingof4 thank you all for the welcome. I'm due 19th July with my first and have added myself in to the list below.

CottonSocks, I won't be having any Down's tests either simply because I'd rather keep than abort a Down's baby, not to mention the risks to healthy pregnancies. OH thought he might like to be able to get mentally prepared but I grew up around special schools (DM in education) so not bothered. To my mind by the time you get a degree of certainty it is too far along to be ethical although obviously that is a personal choice for each couple.

In fact I'm not having the 12w dating scan at all as I know the dates and so there isn't really any point. No evidence I know of that repeated scans harm babies but there is a correlation with left handedness and I don't like the idea of changing my little one's brain development for no particular reason. Although loads of ppl on here seem to scan like crazy and love it!

Not been drinking much since ttc and none at all since finding out AmaDablam and all... although did have one heavily watered glass of red when I had a bad cold and may do something similar with OJ/Mulled wine over xmas.

Hello lovemybabyboy - nice to see others joining in later too :-)

Good luck to everyone with scans tomorrow!

I had my booking in appointment on Friday so it all seems a bit more real now! My blood pressure is ridiculously low which at least explains why I feel weak & dizzy frequently. Feel like I can now add myself to the list even though nothing has changed....

Great news wifey!!!!!

Love my, my dd is 15 months and I also went back to work in October Blush

wifey6 · 23/12/2012 18:20

Thanks everyone...such a relief Smile

elliejjtiny · 23/12/2012 19:24

Forgot to add the midwife at my booking said I'll be getting 1 to 1 care during labour as this is my fourth and previous labours all been short. I was pleased about that as I think I'll be less likely to panic if there is a midwife there all the time. She also said that after pains with 4th babies are about as bad as labour pains Shock. Not looking forward to that.

BadMissM · 23/12/2012 19:24

Hello everyone...I'm new on here.... (only just found it). I'm 45, will be 46 by the time of the birth (eep). I'm pregnant with DC2, I have a DD of 14 (who is seriously unimpressed). My due date is 22/07/13.

Have told MIL, but not my parents (they're older and the shock might kill them easily surprised).

Due to age etc have had a scan at 7 weeks, all Ok so far...am having the Harmony Test next week (due to age etc)....

What else can I say? Hi! Xmas Smile

AmaDablam · 23/12/2012 20:08

Hello everyone. Welcome to all the newbies, there seem to be quite a few over the last 24 hours or so!

Symptoms have been pretty awful the last couple of days. We did our big Christmas food shop yesterday (how I wish we'd been organised enough to be in time for an online delivery slot!) so I spent the whole time going round Sainsbury's leaning on the trolley, trying not to puke at the sight and smell of all that food and seriously wishing I was small enough to climb into the little child's seat so DH could push me around!

Today we met up with some friends for a short walk which I found completely exhausting. DH and I are very much into our walking so I had to give the "I'm just getting over a nasty virus" excuse for getting so out of breath and having to ask everyone to slow down. DH now out with another friend who has popped over and this time it was the "I think I'm coming down with something" excuse for not joining them. I really cannot wait to be able to "go public" (fingers crossed) after my scan on 9th January. I'm really not a great liar and fed up of people giving me a wide berth as they think I have something contagious!

Cottonsock re. boobs changing colour - this was one of my earliest symptoms, before even the nausea kicked in. The areolas have gone all purply-red and my whole boobs are covered in big, bright blue veins. My nipples and areolas have been itchy the last week or so too - I think it's a combination of the skin being dry and also stretching as they grow and change. I'm hoping this is normal and just moisturising whenever I get the chance and trying to avoid the urge to scratch.

Time for an early night, I think. Parents and sister are arriving tomorrow....fortunately they do know about the baby and are already insisting on making sure I don't lift a finger, so I'm actually quite looking forward to it Xmas Smile

ohgood wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow's scan.

10+0

emblosion · 23/12/2012 22:26

lovemy and calm its me with the small age gap, DS is just 6 months! Am I still winning? Grin

Congrats on the scan wifey :) & welcome to badmissM

ohgood will be thinking of you tomorrow Thanks

Hello to everyone else, not much to report here. Rushing round like mad trying to get ready for Christmas, braved Asda today for a few last minute bits, oh it was hell SO busy. Ds was v well behaved though (phew).

Been feeling quite queasy and stomach churny, not sure if its pregnancy related or just a bit of a bug in time for Christmas, bah.

Good luck to anyone else with a scan tomorrow!
