Oops forgot to do second star ellie

Calmisthemantra · 15/12/2012 21:34

Urghhhh I never feel like it in the 1st trimester, so sick and icky feeling. DH has had it once in 10 weeks! Poor bloke - I normally make up for it for the rest of pregnancy thoughWink tmi?

McKTastic · 15/12/2012 21:35

Hello all Smile
Things are grim here. Constant nausea & bringing everything up with such force that my pelvic floor is letting me down Blush. It's def harder doing this with a toddler in tow now although she has been a wee star. We've told our nearest & dearest - we lost our first pregnancy with twins to MMC so I'd rather have their support regardless of the outcome. Great reading people's positive scan stories & that some of you further on are starting to feel a bit better - there is hope!

7+5

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 15/12/2012 21:44

Arkady Because I was on the nuvaring we don't actually know when I conceived as my periods are sporadic while on contraception but my last one ended on the 22nd of September and lasted 2 weeks...

GP said she had wanted me scanned sooner rather than later as we have no idea how far along I am but I still haven't heard anything. Confused I called up the hospital but they said it needs to get vetted by a MW first, really confused just now. :(

Cutandstick · 15/12/2012 21:45

Have opposite prob here with DP with 'it's going to harm the baby' phobia... And that with doctor even saying its ok. I can't have 6 more months of drought! Blush Anyone else's DP like this?

Cutandstick · 16/12/2012 09:53

Now I wish I'd never admitted that yesterday Blush and I can't delete it. Sad

dinkystinky · 16/12/2012 09:59

Nothing to be embarrassed about Cutandstick! If you want to. Report your post to HQ and ask them to delete for you. But i think its common for first time dads to worry about that! Unecessarily I must add!

Mctastic and Princess - sorry you are both feeling so ill still.

Schro - can you chase up via Gp? Seems like you have got lost in the system.

Thinking - glad you had a good scan and baby put on a performance for you!

ArkadyRose · 16/12/2012 11:48

Schro, you can contact the community midwifery team directly - you don't have to go via your GP. Sounds like explaining things to them would get things moving faster than waiting on your GP.

We're a bit the same in this house cut so don't worry about it, sex is the last thing only mind , I'm so bloated at night my tummy is actually soreSad we only had sex a few times while pregnant with DS, DH was a bit worried about it and I couldnt have cared less about it, each to their own Grin
Terrible nausea on Friday and Sat none today, feel like new Smile going to enjoy not feeling sick instead of worrying about it!

GeorgieWilson · 16/12/2012 15:29

Exactly the same here cut! Despite my explaining its fine DP insists its weird!

Hope the poorly among us feel better soon! X

AmaDablam · 16/12/2012 17:24

Thanks Grannyapple it was me that asked about the thrush treatment. I have some 2% cream left over from a previous bout so will see if that does the trick. I knew the oral tablet was off limits as I was prescribed a course of it once and the GP checked very emphatically that I was sure I wasn't pregnant at the time! Good to know the other stuff is still OK though.

Hope everyone's had a good Sunday and not feeling too rough.

lizincornwall · 16/12/2012 18:41

So pleased for those of you whose nausea is passing! Surely not much longer for the rest of us?
McKTastic - really hope it ends for you soon
Schro - hope you get your scan soon!
We're moving house tomorrow (thank God Pickfords are packing Xmas Smile, and hubby's been doing more than his fair share of cleaning while I guiltily sit on the sofa eating crisps / having a nap Blush.
Not sure what our chances are of getting a scan over Christmas (?), will we have to register with a GP first?? I think I'm 10 weeks already!

Hope scans are all lovely and the bubbas put on a show for everyone!
I have told close friends already, and would normally put a shout-out on FB, but am stupidly friends with my boss, who I don't want to tell until I have to...

Hope this is the latest list I'm adding myself to...

Supershiv1 · 16/12/2012 20:58

Just joined. How do I do this then?
9+4. 1st scan come through for 8th Jan.
Due 17th July 2013.
'Older' ;-) first time mum.
Confused about all the abbreviations and why some scans seem to happen much earlier than others.
Suffering with bad nausea for last couple of weeks.
When should you change bras - and what too?
I am clueless!

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 16/12/2012 21:21

It was maternity who told me that it still needs to be "vetted" by a MW. Why would it need vetted by a MW. Confused Surely if you've been refferred you need a scan anyway.

Gah, really confused.

I think a lot of guys worry about sex during pg, me and DP have far more when I am pregnant, I think it's because I enjoy it much more. Confused

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 16/12/2012 21:22

Shiv Change bras when they need to change. Probably needed most so in the 3rd trimester. I just wore normal bras last time, just got re-measured. :o

emblosion · 16/12/2012 21:44

Hey all! Hope everyone is ok. I'm just back from a weeks holiday & haven't caught up with the thread yet but thought i'd check in!

I'm so tired that I can't even contemplate The Sex. Poor DH....

emblosion · 16/12/2012 21:48

Oh, and am now 10+5!

dinkystinky · 17/12/2012 06:28

Scheo - thats really annoying! I'd ask my Gp to chase up and emphasise the need for an early scan and chase up with midwives yourselF too. With Ds2 my referral from Gp got lost and both Gp and I had to follow up.

Welcome Supershiv - copy and paste last list and add yourself in. I agree with Schro - change brS when you need to. If you are spilling out or they are uncomfortable its timeto remeasure.

AmaDablam · 17/12/2012 08:02

Welcome supershiv it is all very daunting when going through this for the first time isn't it?! I too am a slightly "older" first timer - well I'm only 35 and will be just 36 all being well when the baby arrives, which I know is nothing in some people's books, but I never would have anticipated growing up that I would have had to wait until this grand old age to start my family! (I know it's rude to ask a lady her age but I'd be really interested to know how many of us on this thread fall into the 35+ camp, if there are people who don't mind saying!!)

There are various reasons that people may have earlier scans, but mostly because their pregnancies are considered "high risk" or they have paid to have a private one early. I haven't even had a date through for my first one yet, but I expect it will be around a similar time to yours, Shiv.

The abbreviations can be a little confusing but you'll soon pick it up. There is an "acronyms" link you can click on at the top of this thread but in summary the main ones are: DH/DP - dear husband/partner, pg - pregnancy/pregnant, DS/DD/DC - dear son/daughter/child, MW - midwife, MC/MMC - miscarriage/missed miscarriage. Hope that helps!

I'm trying to hold out as long as possible on buying a new bra as I reckon I'm likely to go up several sizes, but I'm starting to burst out of all but my roomiest one or two now so I think it will be time soon! I'm also starting to get back ache which I think is to do with the ever increasing size/weight of boobage - not good!

Have a good start to the week, all.

9+1

photographerlady · 17/12/2012 08:23

Morning ladies I have an embaressing question. Does anyone else have loose bowels/diarrhoea? I'm 9.4 weeks but the last three weeks every morning I have to go to the bathroom first thing in the morning. GP said it was fine but between this and the nausea I'm not a happy camper.

AmaDablam · 17/12/2012 09:05

Yep, photograher I've not had it every day, but been getting it now and then, interspersed with the more usual problem of constipation. Not very pleasant but I think it's pretty normal. I did read somewhere that you should seek medical attention if you are going more than three times a day though.

Hope you start feeling better soon - roll on 2nd trimester!

Sashabella0 · 17/12/2012 09:18

Hi There,

I'm adding myself too. I'll be the third 25th July!

This is baby number 1 for me so haven't got a clue! Things not too bad, nausea has died down, still very tired though. Can't fit into my skinny jeans already, had to order some maternity ones.

dinkystinky · 17/12/2012 09:35

Welcome Sashabella. I was telling Dh this morning that i need to dig out my maternity clothes from the loft as my work trousers are starting to get abit too uncomfortable...

Ama - I found out I'm expecting on my 36 birthday. My best friend is expecting her first and she's a year older than me. I think it depends on where you live - round our part of north west London there are plenty of 35+ first time mums.

dinkystinky · 17/12/2012 09:35

P.s. Photographerlady - my bowels go loopy too in pregnancy. I think its a side effect of the hormones flushing our system.
