Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
wifey6 · 06/12/2012 11:03

Has/is anyone experience night time nausea? I've woken up in the middle of the night feeling so sick for the past week or so.

Persuasion · 06/12/2012 11:21

I feel nauseous in the night if I wake for another reason, usually to pee Blush but it's not bad enough to wake me by itself. I still haven't actually been sick at any point though, jusp permanent nausea and occasional retching.

photographer that's great news!

Bessie sorry you're still in limbo. That's pretty harsh on part of the EPU. Still, at least the bleeding has stopped. I still have my fingers crossed for you.

wifey6 · 06/12/2012 11:27

persuasion...I'm woken up by my DS or the urge to pee & it's then that the nausea hits. Take a while to get back to sleep as I feel so ill.

MightBeMad · 06/12/2012 12:46

Yey ! Great news photographer!

I've hurt my back here and can't take painkillers I'm feeling rather sorry for myself!

Camb79 · 06/12/2012 13:42

Mightbemad You can take paracetamol, no? I was told it was safe by the doctor when I had SPD.

MightBeMad · 06/12/2012 13:57

I'm trying to avoid taking anything in the first tri if I can. I know that's probably being over anxious but that's my own idiosyncrasy!

dinkystinky · 06/12/2012 14:06

You can take paracetemol Mightbemad. Would a warm bath/hot water bottle help it at all?

MightBeMad · 06/12/2012 14:44

Thanks dinky. Yes, I've been trying a hot water bottle Smile

Cutandstick · 06/12/2012 15:07

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes. Good news, baby is all good, in fact despite my weigh loss slightly bigger than dates (4 days!!) I have NO idea how! It was moving about and even has a nose now! Xmas Grin On steroids myself now, so hopefully breathing again soon! Spotting just a fact of pg it seems.
wifey I woke nauseous on sat night and puked my guts up. Crazy!

dinkystinky · 06/12/2012 15:15

Glad all good with baby Cutandstick and you've got some meds. Hope they kick in soon.

Mightbemad - the other thing that just occurred to me for your back is an electric blanket. I love ours for soothing aches and pains away (and getting rid of pospicle toes)

notprincesskate · 06/12/2012 15:19

Hello ladies hoping I can join you, DC2 due 05/07. Had booking appt with midwife today so feeling a bit braver now, scan booked for 2 weeks today. Have been lurking a bit, so best wishes go to those who haven't had positive news or are still waiting. Hope everyone else is feeling as well as they can, I've packed Dd off for a nap as exhausted and now can't sleep grrrr, got loads to do but no inclination may just sit and watch tv and have a mad rush before DH comes home!

Gingerpanther27 · 06/12/2012 15:37

Had a lot of catching up to do Blush morning sickness was dire so couldn't even look at a computer screen without running to the toilet :( thought I had a weeks reprieve then it came back with a vegence lol. Has anybody who's in the 9 nearly 10 weeks range got their 12 week scan date posted to them in north Scotland? Keep checking post like a loony Xmas Hmm I'm moving tomorrow so scared I won't get it in time

MightBeMad · 06/12/2012 15:57

Yey!!! Cut that's great news!!!!

Dinky - ooh electric blanket... We have oneif those somewhere... Good idea!

Welcome princess and congrats on your pg!

I got my 12 wk scan date through - 7 jan when I'll be 11+6!! Eek! Very exciting but feels a little bit like tempting fate until I've got reassurance at my private scan tomorrow. More brown discharge last night but only a little so still feel it could go either way. I had brown with my last pg so am cautiously optimistic on that score but I really don't feel pg ATM - it's all a bit surreal. Still, what will be will be (remind me of that when I'm posting at 4am tying myself in knots with pre-scan nerves!!) Grin

Guavasforbreakfast · 06/12/2012 16:19

Sorry to post without reading, on my phone and will read through when I get home - we saw a heartbeat just now and I'm so relieved I thought I'd share.
They think it's a week behind what I thought, but said not to change dates until confirmed at next one as its not a perfect science in the early weeks. Had a mc at 5+2 the month before so hoping that's why I'm not as far as I thought, maybe it made me ovulate later? Did that happen to anyone?

MightBeMad · 06/12/2012 16:28

Yes, guavas I think I ovulated a bit later after mc. Perfectly possible explanation! Congratulations!!

Ginger sorry to hear you've been feeling so sick x

orangebubbles · 06/12/2012 17:58

Great news photographer

Mightbe Virtually holding hands tomorrow as also being scanned.

Guava after my mc I went from regular ov day 14 of 28day cycle to day 18 of 26/27 day so very conceivable that is what's happened.

Welcome newbies, add yourself on the list Smile

Guavasforbreakfast · 06/12/2012 18:08

YayCutandstick and photographer, happy to hear the good news.

Thanks orange, my relief began to be blighted somewhat by the sudden fear that it might be too small, despite them assuring me it was fine.

wifey that happened to me last night! Napped on and off with funny tummy until nearly midnight, then sudden rush made me sit bolt upright and have to run to the toilet. Then took me ages to get back to sleep with the burning in my nose (tmi sorry).
On that note if anyone else gets prescribed anti-emetics, while stopping me being sick while at work, they are definitely NOT getting rid of the vomiting entirely so don't expect significant relief like I stupidly did! Cannot WAIT for 2nd trimester.

Guavasforbreakfast · 06/12/2012 18:17

Sorry mightbe, just saw your post too - thanks for the reassurance! Now the next hurdle is the 12 week one, can't wait to actually see something resembling a baby more than a fuzzy jelly bean...

Cutandstick · 06/12/2012 19:43

Thanks might be best of luck for tomorrow!

YikesHereWeGo · 06/12/2012 19:54

Successful scan today! Was a couple of days behind what I thought so reckon EDD is 27 July. Saw heartbeat which was fab. For some reason I had a tummy scan this time round (previously I've only ever had internal scans in early days) and it was much more enjoyable. They didn't tell me to drink water beforehand but we could still see everything. Bumped into someone from work in the EPU - awkward!! Totally random as I work in the city and live in the sticks!! Other randomness was that there was a bloke in the scan room observing and then just as I was pulling my trousers back up a nurse came in and said the bloke was totally in the wrong hospital unit. I did think he was looking a bit perplexed by the whole experience. Lol

Gingerpanther27 · 06/12/2012 19:56

Definitely in agreement with you guava [fsmile_]

wifey6 · 06/12/2012 20:27

Lovely news for those who have had successful scans today.
Good luck to all having scans tomorrow.
Had pelvic twinges today..really upset me & ended up crying outside the shop. Sad
They took me by surprise & after our MMC in April..I feel scared by any twinges etc.
I haven't been out the house walking like I did today for about 5+ days & find activity (hoovering, walking, turning in bed) start them.
Is that ligaments do you think?

Guavasforbreakfast · 06/12/2012 21:24

Wifey I had lots of twinges last week on the lower right hand side, totally freaked me out but had a heartbeat at the scan today so it seems fine! Lots of people have said it could be ligaments - good old dr google days it's too early but what does google know ;-)
Any feelings at all down there freak me out, but I def knew when I was mc last time as it was full on cramping across the whole area rather than the sharp twinges I've been feeling.

Guavasforbreakfast · 06/12/2012 21:25

Oops did a text wink - can you tell I'm a newbie? Correction - Wink

Guavasforbreakfast · 06/12/2012 21:26

But don't feel bad for crying, I sobbed into DP's chest the night that I kept feeling them. Half wish I was one of those people who mysteriously don't find out until they're 12 weeks and already out of the early woods...
