Mammoth post sorry!!!

One last thing I'm also getting weetractions!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/11/2012 19:25

I think my bump has dropped....

EggsMichelle · 12/11/2012 19:39

A little warning with the arnica tablets, arnica is fantastic for taking down bruising and swelling. However homeopathic tablets are the result of heavily concentrating something in litres of water, then dropping one drop of that water on a sugar tablet, with the assumption the water holds a 'memory' of that original something. If this was true, we would all be infertile from the tiny quantities of contraceptive we pee into the water system and then drink. Make sure you pick out tablets with an actual quantity of arnica in.

My DH has always been a tunnel vision man when it's come to house work, but he has really stepped up the last few weeks since I've been struggling, but I do still have to remind him to do the simple things, like putting his dirty pants in the laundry basket!

PurplePidjin · 12/11/2012 19:42

Arnica's herbal, not homeopathic, though Confused

EggsMichelle · 12/11/2012 19:57

Someone mentioned homeopathic, and I have seen homeopathic arnica tablets before (odd I know!) so just want to be sure people get the right thing.

HoneyMum21 · 12/11/2012 19:59

Arnica is.a herb but is used to prepare the homeopathic medicine which is the form you buy it in when you buy the little pillules

StrawberrytallCAKE · 12/11/2012 20:04

I have been bouncing on the ball for the last 2 hours!!!!!!! Don't seem to have the concentration span to put together a long post but reading a lot Grin.

37 weeks - time to evict baby.

Bellaboo123 · 12/11/2012 20:06

strawberry I'm laid over mine with bum in the air trying to convince LO to move!!!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 12/11/2012 20:33

Wriggle your bum a bit Grin

Clarella · 12/11/2012 20:41

The arnica thing confused me - not really into homeopathy but u can get cream - prob no good though as you need it internally!

First time had major urge to bounce on ball and dh has hidden the box (of course i neeeed it firmer) and pump cue me getting a bit antsy and pulling the 'what if i went in to labour now' card as he grumbled about looking for it tonight. Finally found very grumpily but its done the trick.

Must admit very confused about all the conflicting advice - i thought it was 6 mo in room plus the grobag advice. The ones weve been given are boots though and say as long as head cant slip through neck - looking at tyem i really want the head to be too small as its got to get through me first!!!

itsMYNutella · 12/11/2012 20:43

I was instructed by the pharmacist not to use Arnica cream during pregnancy (crashed my bike the day before I found out Blush clumsy mummy) and that it is not a homeopathic remedy.... Hmm I am planning on buying some Arnica cream (soooo soothing) for post birth fanjo relief Wink

Brooke so sorry to hear about your DP not making you feel sexy, I remember checking your profile when you mentioned the Halloween pumpkin belly - have just re-checked to make sure it was you :) and you are a stunning preggo! You should tell your man how he is making you feel and I hope you can sit and have a proper talk with him! Take some deep breaths and know we're all here for you!

I have to say that while my DP is useless at housework he is very good at telling me that I look lovely My bloomin eczema has wandered around my face but will not go away! I have had a consistent blotch of eczema somewhere since (previously forehead, then on my chin for a bit) about 13 weeks; it is currently residing next to my nose :(

Clarella · 12/11/2012 20:44

Veg oil not olive???? Why? My niece had the olive oil for ages Confused

Mind you i think theres going to be a shortage of olive oil / prices going up i heard so veg will be cheaper :)

Clarella · 12/11/2012 20:45

Yes the arnica cream is the herbal version like calendula etc

Bellaboo123 · 12/11/2012 20:55

Something in the Olive oil...veg oil is a bit stinky though!!!

Wiggling bum in the air while watching master chef!

Secondsop · 12/11/2012 21:01

Hello all, you have been chatty today. I am not sure I can catch up with everything but: great news on the GTT emily. Hope the talk with your husband goes well brooke - if it helps, I read that it's normal for men to have conflicting feelings when their partner's body turns into something that is doing something entirely new. It would be worth exploring this with him. spotty your husband could certainly be doing a lot more to help, or getting a cleaner. Carrying a Hoover up and down stairs has been utterly beyond me for months now.

Thanks for all the clothing tips ladies. I am glad I'm not the only one thoroughly confused by the vest/bodysuit/sleepsuit/babygrow business.

Had my final meeting in the City today before mat leave. I don't have to go in that often or do a proper rush hour so it was a bit of a shock to the system.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 12/11/2012 21:16

Ahh I was watching masterchef too. Loved Monica's comment about the guy making her hate her job for tasting what he made, she is one scary (but brilliant) mama!

Bellaboo123 · 12/11/2012 21:17

I know harsh but fair! I now WANT goats cheese!!!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 12/11/2012 21:24

I've been wanting goats cheese for about a week now, didn't think I missed anything but goats cheese got me last time too. Not long now!

Secondsop · 12/11/2012 21:27

I want goat's cheese now please. I have though had a delicious little pizza for dinner (chicken, ham, asparagus, olives) which astonishingly is fine for me sugars-wise.

ISpyPlumPie · 12/11/2012 21:27

Brooke - I know how you feel, last time DH was v reluctant to have sex at all. He kept saying it was because he didn"t want to hurt the baby but I was convinced it was because he didn't find me attractive. It was only after DS was born that we really managed to talk about it and he understood how rejected I'd felt. Also got him to read up on the fact that he really wouldn't do any damage, and I'm glad to report that it's been completely different this time. In fact, he's keener than usual! Know this probably doesn't help immediately but wanted you to know there's hope for the future.

Emily - great news about GTT and Stacey - good luck for appt tomorrow.

I had no idea the guidence on room sharing had changed. DS was in our room until he outgrew his cradle - about 5 months iirc. Really don't think the cot will fit in our room without some serious re-arranging.

DS had a fantastic birthday. He loved his cake and has been spoiled rotten by everyone. Will probably just about have sorted space for all his new toys and it will be time for the Christmas ones!

Cookiesandcoffee · 12/11/2012 21:42

I thought you were allowed goats cheese these days.. Oops.. Have had it a fair few times as I looovvee it..

AlisonDB · 12/11/2012 22:12

I'm doing the Raspberry leaf tea, cant get the capsules here grrrrr!
I started last week, I'm 35 wks today!
Can't believe it's only 5 weeks till my due date!

I will be doing the EPO from 37/38 weeks (depending on the outcome of my next scan) and if I can will be doing it internally!

Clarella · 12/11/2012 22:18

Re advice .... i go back to my dad who slept in a drawer and the fact that parma ham advice actually changed mid preg to a double negative - 'we dont not advise women eat parma ham' .... ffs!

cherrypiew3 · 12/11/2012 22:31

Evening Ladies,

Brooke We are having issues with sex but the other way around from you dh is not put off at all I just can not understand how he is finding me attractive and it is me that is refusing it. Hope you can talk to your dh about it and that he understands how you are feeling.

Cookies I have eaten a few things this pregnancy that were not suppose to eat.

I have lots of raspberry leaf tea and capsules which I really wanted to get started on. (36 weeks today) When I asked the mw at my 34 week appointment she told me not to take anything until I have had my growth scan and because baby was transverse and she wanted to be sure she was head down before I start to use it. Was and still am a bit disappointed wanted to start it early.

brooke89 · 12/11/2012 22:40

Thanks everyone tried to talk to him but he said its just wrong and doing other stuff apart from sex is even worse....feel so upset and angry with him! Don't want him to feel like he is being pressured but at the same time I don't think he understands how bad it's making me feel about myself ahhhh on the plus side only 4 weeks to go.
